    So, as you didn’t say it, I will: certain pills are coated to camouflage an awful taste, but other pills are coated to protect it from your stomachs acidic environment, and they are meant to disintegrate first when it reaches the duodenum. If you dissolve a pill in a syringe as showed here, you need to know that the pill can be safely divided and crushed without compromising your health.

    • @IshaSoul
      @IshaSoul 2 роки тому +23

      Yes some pill bottles will say do not crush/ do not open capsule, or I’ve even seen ‘do not put under your tongue.’

    • @michelepaccione8806
      @michelepaccione8806 2 роки тому +34

      Important to know. Also, time-release medications have different thicknesses of coatings on the granules, so they dissolve at different rates, which is how they release the medication over time. Crushing or chewing those meds can be harmful because you're releasing more medication more quickly than you should.

      How do you get past the taste of a crushed pill?
      I once had to have a medication compounded into a liquid because the pills were HUGE.
      The medication must have had a really vile taste, because the resulting liquid was disgustingly sweet, I'm assuming to cover the medication taste.😖

      Wild lettuce is potent in some interesting chemicals that are utilized by herbalists for various ailments. I maintain it's plausible, especially if using the more potent wild lettuce. It grows like a weed. and when you break it, it has far more of the white, bitter substance that the more hybridized market lettuce has lost in its breeding. This is to say: my curiosity is piqued.

    Well, If you are going to make tea from a plant, you really need to 'break' the fibers more. chop it up into smaller pieces, then steep it. I'm guessing a lot of the 'high' she felt could be from the chemicals (poisonous pesticides) sprayed on the lettuce.. I would advise against trying this unless your lettuce is organic and free from poisons & pesticides. But if it does work to help get a better night sleep, that is pretty cool.... nature is so awesome!

    People ask your doctor before dissolving pills there's some you absolutely do not want to dissolve and then there's some that should only be dissolved in sterile water or saline not tap water.

    The pill one, I will have to try out with my toddler. It'll be a good way for my husband and I to get her to take meds if given in pill form, otherwise it'll just sit in her mouth until it dribbles out (she did that with children's Pepto bismol tablets)
