whole album is class!...really it is!..
Stained, even!
This entire album is pure gold. A few years later they released the album Unleashed in the East which, for me, is easily the greatest metal album ever recorded.
In my opinion, this is the first REAL heavy metal album ever recorded.
@@neillenet291 I completely agree.
@@NoLegalPlunder definitely. The first heavy metal album, completely devoid of any blues influences.
Not a few years later. The following year, 1979. Stained class came out early 78
@@Kgio-2112 you’re right. I just confirmed it. It was released at the start of 78. What threw my mental date calculator off is the fact that Killing Machine was released the same year. I wrongly figured there must have at least been a year between them. They were more prolific than I thought during this time.
Still my favorite Priest song, enters the realm of a masterpiece.
Dreamer /deceiver is another classic priest song
Thanks for the recommendation.
@@SaeedReacts. If you do, don't do the really ole live version, everyone does and it's sub par from the recording which is very well done.
@@SaeedReacts. Yeah - it's a 2 part song, so make sure you do both "Dreamer Deceiver / Deceiver"
I love this album. I love the band. Glenn & KK are the best two axe duo ! xx
K.K. Downing & Glen Tipton the best dual lead guitar players in the business. Sadly Tipton, who played the 1st guitar solo, has Parkinson's Disease these days and cannot perform regularly anymore. He did come on and do 3 songs with them in 2023 though. Victim of Changes, Tyrant, Exciter, Sinner, Genocide, Let us Pray/Call for the Priest, their cover of Green Manalishi and the list goes on. Love 80s Priest onwards too, but 70s is where it's at for me. Still going, of course, but it is only really Halford and bassist Ian Hill these days. Released their 19th studio album this year.
Whoever suggested this song for your first Priest song made a great choice. One of their best.
Nearly nobody knows about it, but... This really is, sincerely, one of the bestest hard rock songs ever composed. The musicianship is simply sick. The lyrics and vocals ain't too shabby either. I'm old, and had heard just about everything, but when the chorus switches to another level at 6:53 (of this vid, that is) it blew my socks and underpants off. What a song!
🎛️🎛️ .. memory lane .. my first concert ever : Judas Priest & Iron Maiden - I was 13 years old my ears rang in my head for weeks afterwards 🎛️🎛️
Judas Priest, still to me seems to be the most underrated metal band ever. For what they did, and what they made. You only ever hear anyone bring up Painkiller. Their first 6 albums are complete masterpieces. So fun facts. For their first records after leaving Gull Records, they found funk drummers to fill in for their albums to give them that maneuverability for key and tempo changes and had really become a driving force in their sound for their early run from 'Sin' to 'Hell Bent' that was sorely missed once Holland was brought in. Though famous for their twin lead guitars which became a staple in metal moving forward, it had been done before in Thin Lizzy to a much lesser extent. Rob Halford is often cited as The Metal God for his impressive 4.5 octave range, more impressive still was that he would perform live right off the bus with absolutely zero warm up or prep. While bands like Led Zeppelin pioneered soaring vocals in rock music and Black Sabbath were the first to detune their instruments debuting the iconic deeper tones of heavy metal, is subsequently Judas Priest who are knowned as the FIRST Heavy Metal Band.
This was the album that introduced me to Judas Priest when my cousin loaned it to me around 1979 or so. Been a fan ever since!
The Best band of Metal 🤘
Halfords voice is what pulled me toward metal as a kid. He well and truely rocks!
One of my favorite albums growing up 🤘super vibe and real message 🙏🤘🤘
Such a masterpiece !
Finally some JP, thank you! Great reaction to one of the greatest songs! (imo). Judas Priest has been my favorite band since I was about 7 years old, and I'm so happy that you finally did a reaction to their music, it really made my day!
Incredible song! Happy that i finally got to one of their songs. Definitely want to check out more.
Thanks for watching!
Priest has been the soundtrack to my life since I first heard them in 1980 when I was 12. This what you call a classic Priest Metal Ballad. Priest!!!
One of my favs from them The solo is perfection Dam i love this song
Simply sensational the first solo was Glen Tipton, the second was k k downing 2 incredible guitarist s know this before metallica, pantera, megadeth, motley crue there was JUDAS PRIEST formed in 1969- 1970 and still rocking today
This whole album has become one of my favorites as of late. I like “Hero’s End” and “Saint’s in Hell”.
ohh this song is a masterpiece I used to listen to it in high school.
Magnificent song!
They just don't write music like this anymore.
cudos, what an amazing song by the greatest band of all time
My favorite Judas Priest song!
Incredible song!
Run Of The Mill, Here Come The Tears, You've Got Another Thing Coming,Turbo Lover Touch of Evil and definitely Rob Halford's solo stuff like Silent Scream which is one of if not the best heavy metal song IMO
No metal better than classic Priest!
…..my favorite Priest album 🎸
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Robs voice & Priests sound 80s high school for me ... saw them Maple Leaf Gardens ...Toronto ... "Living After Midnight " Id say is their biggest song
Excellent reaction.
Thank you!
point of entry and before - cant go wrong - Victim of Changes NEXT
Thanks for the recommendation
Let us know in advance do it live and thousands will come. We'll share. @@SaeedReacts.
Always loved 'You've Got Another Thing Coming' ... especially in the car after a bad day. 'Hell Bent for Leather' was another hard rocker. Glad you're listening to them ... they've got quite a few good songs.
Thanks for the recommendation!
You can't go wrong with classic 70s and early 80s Priest.
Ahh, the Metal Gods, now this is a serious rabbit hole 🤘
This is an incredible song! Definitely want to hear more.
I've been a fan since 1979, and they are still awesome to this day - you have a lot of great music to discover from them 🤘
The middle solo from Tipton is often mentioned amongst the great solos of rock music . Check out Tyrant from Sad wings of Destiny or The Sentinel from Defenders of the Faith ( bit heavier but quite a piece of music …)
Unleased in the East in my Car driving around - Stained Class in my room with headphones and a smoke
This was super heavy for '78.
Thanks for letting me know about that! Its though to know with all the music that is out there now, how it was perceived then.
Judas priest were named after a bob Dylan song😁
Oh really? Awesome!
@@SaeedReacts. The ballad of Frankie lee and Judas priest. Fantastic song👍
Even before the Dylan song, 'Judas Priest' was an old exclamation, similar to 'Bloody Hell' used in the 40s & 50s.😀
I hope you'll listen to "Dreamer Deciever/Deciever" also by Judas Priest
seen judas priest 23 times, it's always mind blowing
Awesome!
Saw them twice. Late 70s.
Judas H. Priest...😎
Wonderful album
Their best album.
I'd give it a Top Ten album of all time by any band...once back in the late 70s I saw them at a little bar in Virginia, Louie's Rock City. Place only held a few hundred people, & Judas Priest was already a famous band, we didn't even know there was a band playing just me & a friend stopped in for some reason. They weren't gonna let us in- it was sold out- but we said all we wanted was a couple beers, who's playing anyway? When the doorman told us we begged/bribed our way in, got great seats just as it started & even bought beers for a couple band members after the show. Stuff like that just doesn't happen anymore! Anyway yes, without a doubt their best album, I like Savage as the best song...
@@andychisarick6879 I saw them a couple times, late 70s. Didn't party with them though. Sounds like a good time.
@@jnywd8450 Didnt exactly party w/ them. They were nice enough to sit w/ us for a few minutes, shake hands, & we faded away so other fans could say hi too. Just dont get that kinda interaction in a big arena...everything's more fun when you're young!
This was their last album that pushed the envelope in my opinion. After this album they fell into a formula and a radio format to sell albums because they were sick of starving but I wish we'd gotten more albums with a top tier drummer.
Glenn's solo in this might be my favorite solo he's ever done.
Definitely want to explore more of their music.
I am not knowledge enough about the genre/music to know the formulaic stuff (not yet anyway)
VICTIM OF CHANGES live at the US festival is a great choice for a reaction
Thanks for the recommendation!
saw them a few months ago in Amsterdam (celebrating there 55th anniversary )
Awesome 🔥
This is Priest's "Hotel California".
Thanks for the recommendation.
Am so ill. Can't sleep in the bed with hubby. Sort of sit upright and sleep on sofa in TV room since Sunday.
But I still have to listen to 2 to 4 of your reactions every night. Your intelligence and positivity is a "pick me up"
Song not my cup of tea ; must be the fact that my ears, head are pounding due to illness. But still listening, just turned the volume down. You as a person is a ray of sunshine even to us being a bit😂 older. Greetings from South Africa
Hope your feeling better soon
Hope you feel better soon! Take care. Much love from Belgium.
Can recommend this one LIVE from Epitaph..
Thanks for the recommendation.
Rob Halford has the perfect metal voice. He still sounds great today 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
K. K. Downing (guitarist) has another great band as well KK's Priest ( Coincidence 🤔)
I was thinking "Wow, this is quite an entree into JP" but really, there's no way to go wrong. No matter where you reach, you'll hit a winner. Rob Halford is the Metal God and not once has he mailed it in, and my man is 70. Thank God he takes care of himself so we'll have JP records for years to come. This was one of the songs they got in trouble for in the hysterical 80s when they were dragged into court to account for a couple losers who killed themselves listening to them. Some days. Anyhoo, you can't go wrong with JP, but "Painkiller" is a great album. And if you find you like Robbo's work, check out his other bands, Two and Fight. Seriously heavy stuff.
Thanks for sharing your experience with this song and for the recommendations. Definitely want to explore more.
I suggest the song Skyfire by the band Alcatrazz live in Japan
Thanks for the recommendation.
my favorite priest song n stained class is a start to finish record.a top 10 record of all time.better by you, white heat red hot, screaming for vegeance, electric eye, running wild some sugestions.
deep purple child in time live a must listen...
Thanks for the recommendation!
❤
❤️
Better by you better than me
Thamar y Amnón - Camarón De La Isla. Do it and you'll get lots of views from Spain. Research about it before tho!
This album or Sad Wings of Destiny are the GOAT of JP. There's a shitty '70s live video of this you need to see. Audio is decent enough.
Can you please react to the Fire burns below from Judas Priest
Thanks for the recommendation.
The first Diamonds & Rust cover was April 1977.
Play ur backwards and you will here do it
The live version is a million times better
Did you here about the my friend that killed himself and the said it's the lyrics
react to Eat Me Alive lol
Thanks for the recommendation.
This was also called Rock Bottom back then > 1978
Even the guitars sing ...can you hang on to the notes..?
But how was depressed and
meant he was talking about being gay WHEN being gay was a death sentence my bad
Shall I say it? Ok. Painkiller.
There’s no way any real man over 40 hasn’t heard this song
Glad i made it before 40 😄
Non straight men know nothing of this. Us real men do.
❤
