    I grew up through the Daniel Craig Bond era, but Connery and Moore's bond films have never been bettered. This scene is one of the best chase scenes in film history.

    Can we just appriciate how awesome it looks at 4:00 with the bobsled, the stuntman, and the 2nd stuntman on bike all so close together :O
    Also.. I really miss scenes like this chase in never Bond movies. They all try to be so over the top serious, leaving out all the charm, the humor that makes the older Bond movies to good.

      I think the reason why Moore's Bond is more fun is because of the shift in focus on more realism vs fantasy adventure in the franchise. Moore's Bond films where pure tongue in cheek adventure fantasy and people watch them with that expectation. Craig's Bond is all about realism and being a representation of today's generation's idea of a bad ass. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but not that good a thing either.

      @@johnlloyddy7016 The other thing is that there are other action movies who could do that and more power to them. Bourne for example would be fine with more realism and seriousness, but Bond should always be on the lighter side, even if it is a little ridiculous

    • @johnlloyddy7016
      @johnlloyddy7016 4 роки тому +9

      @@TheAlps36 Exactly, it was a totally different era. Back then, people watched Bond for the outrageous and over the top action sequences, sexy leading ladies and the clever gadgets that Q provided, all set in exotic locations around the world. Each installment had a totally different flavor to them. Unlike today where the villains and settings are seemingly generic and interchangeable. I think Pierce Brosnan's Bond came closest to recapturing the mystique that Moore's Bond movies had.

  • @TheRobin53

    Quite possibly Moore's best outing. It's got a gritty feel to it, not as campy and goofy as Moonraker, they touch on previous continuity, and Moore makes Bond feel incredibly seasoned this time around.

    I'm 47 and I ride as a London cycle courier. Three years now. It was a job I found too hard when I was younger. I'm in better shape now than I was as a young man. Now I feel like I'm James Bond several times a day. I love this job. I've been a singer, owned my own taxi and more. Never give up on yourself, and don't worry what anyone else thinks about you. Just so what makes you feel good and your shine will be contagious.

    • @coolcat6303
      @coolcat6303 6 років тому

      Great message, Aaron. I am also 47 & sometimes I get depressed because my body isn't what it used to be (numerous health problems). But i'm starting to take better care of myself now (more active & eating better) & I can already feel a difference. So I just have to keep thinking positive & telling myself that although I can't control everything, I do have a big say in my health & the quality of my life. It ain't over just because you are middle aged & have a few faulty parts. You just gotta keep fighting,patching yourself up & tell yourself that "I have alot more living to do!"

      Conti did a pretty decent job with this movie, in my opinion. The music he had for the 2CV chased by Peugot 504s also elevated that chase sequence and it`s comedic value, at the same time as it maintained the Bond identity of the scene in the action paced frames of it.

    The Bobsled part-too funny! If you notice -an element that makes Bond is there's always someone who witnesses what he is doing and can't believe that just took place. Dalton's Bond - the bad guy is explaining how Bond took the money and the plane it came in!!!

    • @teej783
      @teej783 6 років тому +2

      Timothy Dalton got so screwed as James Bond with the "sensitive" script and low-budget cinematography. The water skiing behind the plane was a great stunt but all the rest look like they were done on a sound stage. Mexican Soap Operas (Novellas) are filmed better. Dalton's Bond was done in by trying to make Bond "sensitive", keep the budget low and over-dramatize the Colombian drug cartel. Pierce Bronson would have been a great Bond if he had worked out a bit to get ready for the role. He was miscast much in the same way Michael Keyton was in the 1989 Batman.

      Visionary It's near the end when the women are distracting the men to get inside Khan's house. I think it's the same guy but I could be wrong, he looks at the women then looks at his drink just before they attack him. Love the running gag though, they don't really do that with Bond films anymore.

    FYEO is my all-time favorite Bond movie. It's just such a fun watch. Anybody here notice a very young Charles Dance, a.k.a. Tywin from GOT? 2 R.I.P.s, first for the actor who played Locke, and second to the actress who played Lisle, who was married to Pierce Brosnan, and was the mother to his step-daughter, who passed of few years ago of ovarian cancer, the same that killed her mother.
