You did what?
I’m sorry, i should have listened to you 😂
these are the best video content though 😅
Hello hoovie 👋👋
had a feeling you would comment haha
I see the imminent purchase of 4 new air bags (dont cheap out, if one fails, the rest arent far behind!) And the 4 delivery hoses as they fail with age,new seals in the air pump, solves 85-90% of the issues and gets the magic carpet ride, bet it was a smokers car as smokers love those tinted spoilers on the windows, saves emptying the ashtray!
On the bright side, with your speed limited to 35MPH, your MPG will be high teens!
😂😂😂 you bastard
Alright, how’s it going, welcome back 😂
@@carlhammond7679 alright guys
@@carlhammond7679 oi that’s my line
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Ran a L322 4.2SC for a few years ... regardless of the mpg and maintenance cost best car I’ve ever owned. Your statement “there is nothing like a Range Rover” is so true
As soon as you drive one, you know
100%
I truly believe that the range rover used car market is only driven by youtubers wanting to make content because of their marvellous reliability.
Best of luck my friend 😁🚗
You really are becoming the british Tyler Hoover.
I really don’t want to, have you seen his repair bills 😂
@@itsjoel he only manages it because his dad is a multimillionaire, as you may already be aware
But Joel is good? Tyler hoover is dull. No comparison
@@itsjoel just don't get a turbo R
I admire this guy, we should watch all the adverts he needs the money.
You’re not wrong 😂
2:30 that's some sublime parking
I paid £3000 for a tdv8 2007 l322. With 160,000 on the clock. It’s been fantastic, odd little issues yes, but nothing me and my mates haven’t been able to fix
Which is the best engine in an older Rangie to go for in terms of reliability?
@@ian9outof10 2001-2005 BMW Range Rovers. The best in reliability
Love it! Can’t wait for the ‘restoration’ video’s. Would be nice to see this Range Rover go back to it’s original glory. Amazing colour!
Just found your channel (thanks to High Peak Autos' insta story) and I'm hooked. No BS and you're buying the cars I don't dare.
Thanks matey, hope you stick around
Lunatic says he bought a £2k Rangie...subscribed. I shouldn't take pleasure from another man's pain but I'm afraid I might with this series.
This channel slowly turns into the British version of Hoovie. Maybe you should find yourself a Wizard... :D
He hasn't got enough Land Yachts to be a UK hoovie. He would need to buy a few more big saloons
Merlin
Exactly what we need a Uk version of hoovie
Happy to have sold you it, mate. Good to see it again, even if it is only online.
Love it!! Been waiting for one of these. I just bought a vogue V8 yesterday 2004 reg so this will be interesting
Looking forward to the content with this beast Joel. You brave, brave man ;)
Got to love a V8. With you on this for the ride. 2k nice 😊👍loving the channel man keep up the wicked work
Thanks mate, I’m genuinely excited to own a Range Rover! Can’t quite believe it...
Air con just needs a regas? You've got to admire an optimist :)
Hahaha yep!
Correct. The system will have a catastrophic leak which will cost £350 to repair.
Love it! Would love to see a big road trip video with this... With the 7 series in convoy!
I love how much you love cars Joel , I share the passion , especially for these modern classics you own
Looking forward to watching this one! I have a big soft spot for these cars. Good catch Joel 😂 I will go and enjoy this Video now, haha.
Cheers Elliot, enjoy!
Brilliant really can’t wait to for this project
I feel a “living in my Range Rover for 24 hours” coming...
Probably the most "liveable" one so far then.
I'm enjoying this. Look forwards to seeing more of your range rover.
Good God these range Rover are so underrated though ! Gotta love them, i think that the 2nd facelift has got the best interior on a car ever
You probably already know about this - but we had similar problems with the air suspension on our L322 - turned out it was the ecu in the passenger footwell - water had run down the sill (a common problem) and corroded it. We replaced the ecu with a second hand one off eBay then reset the codes - worked fine after that. Love ours - like driving a sofa - ours is lpg so not even that painful to fill.
Hey Joel mate. I bought the "whatever" could be your sweet spot for videos. Could be a series etc. Hope it hits like the 7 series. Something to think about. Best of luck with channel. Don't forget us once you hit the high numbers.
Anyone who’s got the balls to buy a cheap v8 Range Rover deserves a sub.
i mean he said it has a bmw engine... the thing about german drivetrains is.... they're almost reliable but the electronics that control them ain't... thus why old bmws were known to be bulletproof, not toyota level but yeah, well built reliable cars. at least its not a British v8
@@AIDANPEREIRA I had one. You're right. The electronics are utterly dire.
@@AIDANPEREIRA not the v8 from this time, if he got the diesel 2.9 it would have been bulletproof
Nice air suspension stance. It looks like my greyhound trying to drink out of a bowl on the floor
Great video, love it
Sounds like your compressor is okay, As soon as the car detects a fault (blown airbag) the car will cut power to the compressor, Only a workshop scanner can clear fault code and get working again.
It's possible the trans fault could be the XYZ switch if it's driving as well as it is, which is quite common provided the trans isnt poked, Failsafe can come on anywhere from instantly to within 30 minutes of driving and sometimes doesn't trigger a fault on the dash, Normally if you have torque converter symptoms then this will likely need to be refurbed, Quite a cheap repair though compared to redoing the whole trans.
With your coolant leak, Radiators are very common on this engine can can be replaced cheap enough, They tend to leak from the rear edges, You can generally see leakage with a torch, Given the age of the car it's also likely to be leaking from the valley pan gasket (inside the v) and related tube seals.
I had one of these when they first came out (a diesel one) and had it for 5 years and put 100k miles on it. I'd forgotten how lovely it was. Needless to say as soon as the warranty expired it all went wrong Inc air suspension. Great video.
Good buy! I love these, especially in that color with that engine. My dad actually led the design team for the L322 back in the day within BMW. I would love to get my hands on one some day..
Love the video, keep it up I have owned Range Rover l322 4.4 v8 since 2009
What can I say it’s a love and hate relationship lol
I say if you really hate someone buy them a l322 and watch them cry with the maintenance bills from the garage lol
Something is always going wrong with the big girl!
Fantastic video, love your new car and looking forward to more Range Rover content
Thanks mate
Nice ca! Owned a similar "vogue" from 2003 until 2016. Sold it with over 220k kms. Very comfortable and reliable (yes, there are some)
If I close my eyes all I can hear is James May's voice
Wow joel, love the direction of the channel. Here's to greater and more crazy vehicles 🥂
Thanks pal!
Ha! Yes mate! Your garage is starting to look like you won the lottery in the mid 2000's! Name your dog Bangle (for obvious reasons)!
Hahahah 😂 either that, or it looks like I won a £2 scratch card in the 2020s
Bangle!!! That's amazing! 😂
Don’t worry Joel. I’ve had a Range Rover addiction for years I just can’t resist them😎
Hi Pal Just clicked on to your channel for the first time and enjoy the content! Don't drive the RR any further as you could do even more damage. Get the front Air bag replaced and get the fault code cleared and the compressoir should start to work again. It's also worth checking the other strut as they generally go in pairs. Easy enough job to do yourself and good content. If the compressor is failing don't replace but repair. Good luck!!
Id say one of your airlines popped out, either under the drivers side door or from the air bag itself, glue it and stick it back in and it should be fine. Air compressor will work again when you clear the faults, as you can see no lights are appearing on your height selector.
Always loved these - maybe this series will convince me they’re not such a bad idea after all 😂
That’s the idea! Although it may prove the opposite, who knows haha
What’s the code stored in the Transmission Module? Randomly going into limp sounds like the range switch starting to go out. On the early L322 the range switch should be external and a simple switch.
Unfortunately for my ‘06, zf moved it internal to the Mechatronic unit so I had to swap the whole assembly.
Wow. I wasn't expecting this vehicle!cYour dad must be close to losing his mind with your growing vehicle fleet taking over his driveway??! I love a RR so please keep the videos coming on this one. All the best from just up the road!
Cheers pal, I’ll see you round
Haha!!! I started following you a few years ago because of the Z4 that I'd just bought. Now you've bought a RR... the same model I've owned for 18 months.......
My air con doesnt work, and it's not a simple regas....
My gearbox broke. Completely. Front drum. £1500 for a rebuild.
New tyres all round. Roof lining falling down. New boot seal. Valve covers. Windscreen washer jets......
....and yet....
I love it.
My dad had a straight piped v8 classic, that was a beast
Bought a 2006 HSE Jag for 4.4 for $5000 have had for over a year, did tranny Dif and oil change and has not popped one code in over a year and everything works. I was hesitant to pull the trigger for all the trash talk on range Rover but best car I ever bought.
That’s great to hear! I think a lot of the trash talk comes from people who buy them and don’t have the budget for repairs/maintenance!
Nice colour, same as mine - I opted for the 3.0 Diesel, which although sounds like a tractor really isn't that bad. I'd have gone for a Vogue, rather than an HSE though. Put some L405 wheels on it!
I recently bought one too! Excited for Joel 👍
Looks like you liove near where i used to in Staines- familiar journey down the old A316 to the M3 there past the old JOBS diary and the CHUBB building Sunbury- lol
Air con needs a regas, I love your optimism. You will need lots more of that going forward.
Enjoyed your video, welcome to the full fat V8 4.4, it will keep you busy. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks Chris!
Autodoc quick? I've waited 3-4 weeks for some parts🥲
Best off road 4x4 ever made.
In the workshop getting fixed again, parked on driveways can’t afford the repair bills but the colour is lovely.
The compressor is in lock out now, you need test book to unlock it. The compressor will not run to prevent overheating when there is a leak on one of the bags (which there is) so it disables itself. I would replace both struts if they are both factory - not expensive if you DIY then you need a specialist to recalibrate with testbook.
Clicked onto a random video on UA-cam, didn't expect to love it AND see Joel drive past my local Tesco
I’ll see you round
Love Range Rovers, especially the V8s. I had one and loved it. Only a house move forced me to sell it. I may buy another one now having seen your video. I can totally see why you love your Rangie.
‘Apart from the bin bag covering the door it really is in great condition ‘ haha
😂😂😂

Joel: so we've actually got a dog on the way
Me: hopefully not two dogs
I had a P38 and loved it. Just bought a 2002 L322 vogue 4.4 petrol for £700 and it’s now with an transmission expert as gearbox over heats. Fingers crossed not to bad. I will find out tomorrow 👍 22 inch wheels are worth £500 👍 so should make money if I scrap it 👍😂😂😂😂
Love it
Great content
wow... how much for Airbags and a weeks fuel? is this the model where you can swap air for traditional coil springs and shocks?
I’m on my 4th Range Rover. I absolutely love them and would not have any other SUV. I have never had problems with any of them. My first was a 2011 HSE and my 2021 I ordered from England and received it in October. In the states all are either HSE, Supercharged or Autobiography. They are awesome SUVs. Really enjoyed your vid and agree that color is great on that body style.
Any chance you could add audio?
The volume is so low i was thinking of borrowing guns n roses amp stack!
Looks like it’s running a Drag Racing Suspension setup 😂 seriously though I can’t wait to see the content that comes from this
Name the dog; Skint....That way it'll be a continuous reminder of getting the v8.
Can you imagine the dealer that had that 'on their forecourt' 🤦🏼♂️😅
The stance on this is so on point, on the rear. 😂. For the dog name : Ronnie
I had an Autobiography which had the same problem, replaced all four suspension bags. Had endless problems and constant trips to independent LR specialist. Good luck
Lucky you have a Jaguar/Land Rover dealer on the a316. Lol
Arnott air springs lifetime warranty. I had a 2004 RR. Loved it. How about the LR3s?
I am the least mechanical person in the world but I have always wanted a Range Rover but they were out of my price range… you may have inspired me to start a new hobby!
Great video. Keep it up. 👍
Do it!
Would u consider doing a coilover conversion to avoid future air suspension problems and headaches, also search for apple carplay compactible infotainment retro fit
You could control the airsuspension with BMW INPA, set it to whatever ride height you want, then unplug the #52 fuse, it will stay up there.
I'd love to get an older range rover but the time and money to keep it going make it a no go for me. Looking forward to hearing how much it costs over time.
Your puppy is so cute!!!!😍 he looks like a Charlie 😀
That’s what I said!
Red Fox Lab = Rusty! ;-) Its also very relevant to your channel! ;-)
Great choice! I also bought an L322 recently (a 2006 Supercharged) also in Giverny Green. Although I believe its pronounced 'Juh vuh nee'
Not sure if you’ve found a standard computer yet but I have one with nav I’m willing to swap for yours?
Hi, love the Range Rover but just wondered why you wouldn’t have the 3L Diesel engine in there?
Cheers
Look forward to seeing how the project goes Joel 👍😀
Cheers!
The "sticking sun visors" are wind deflectors to reduce wind noise in the cabin.
Hey Joel, my mum and dad have an 09 reg Range Rover TDV8 and their gearbox did what yours is doing and it needed a fully reconditioned one putting it. Fortunately it was under warranty. Just thought I’d give you the heads up but I hope it’s not too serious. Love the content dude. Keep it up 😄
Love the Car, and, like you, Love the Colour. Looking forward to the next video on this.
Such a cute dog! I would suggest Dawn or Freddie? Best of luck with your RR
The sun visor things are wind deflectors lol Its so you can open the window without the rain blowing in.
In Denmark, that car, that model without wheels, engine, lights, interior of any sort would probably still run you 10k at least. God damn I hate watching these delightful vids about cars in the UK :D
Love your work!
Thank you!
Cool addition to the BMW’s! Much comfier to spend 24 hours in. Fun fact: in the Netherlands APK is the abbreviation for the MOT.
Lovely Car Joel, fingers crossed for the repairs 🤞
Thank you Greg
Ive the same car, I've learnt you just dont play with any of the air suspension modes, it will only cost you. Get if fixed but keep it in auto forever.
Piper should be the right name for the doggo. Can t wait to see how straight pipe a range will work 🤣 is that a ferrari? 🥁🤭
Hey, I love the Range Rover, except I would have opted for the Sport model. Just one simple question. Before you buy anything, spend around 200-300 (USD) to get a full bumper-to-bumper check along with having the onboard computer checked as well. It will save you headaches and money in the long run.
I just bought same. Found an 02 V8 for 2k. And its damn near perfect ( and my air suspension had been sorted 2yrs ago by the Petrolhead who owned it )
Hi Joel. I'm a Range Rover owner and a really useful site for spare parts and mods is powerful UK. Hope you find it helpful. I have a 2017 model and the service costs at maindealers are mental..
Thanks for this I’ll check it out!
Hey. I have a redfox lab and about to buy a RR L322, just came across your channel while looking for info about the car :) Please put some vlogs about your puppy. Regards from Turkey.
Yes lad! You cannot beat a big boy Range Rover!!
Well you have a new subscriber ( me ) and i've always wanted a Range Rover..now i'm doing the classified
Look forward to this project!
Me too!
I’m in the works of buying the same car but the tdv8 2003 vogue any pointers ?
