@@robertczimmerman3774Matt is definitely not biased towards Land Rover, have you seen his comparison videos? The reason the air suspension and HDC kicked off suddenly is more than likely due to a poor/low running battery, and if you know Range Rovers, you’ll know it’s common knowledge to not cheap out on batteries as they have loads of electronics, if the air suspension was up and the diff was locked it would’ve swept the rock crawl easily as it has no rear solid axle for it catch on like the LC did, also the L322 was hardly destroyed, especially when you consider it was bought for less than 50% of what was paid for the LC, nicer examples fetch more and it’s common to see L322’s at high mileage.

So fortunate to have owned a land cruiser and used it on terrain such as this in the middle east. It always exceeded expectations, amazing machines they are
Why did Land Rover put those giant rims with rubber band ties on an off road vehicle 😂
I will choose the Toyota till the end of time
It truly is the peasant's chariot.
I will choose the Range Rover until the end of time. I couldn't care less about its reliability. if you take care of it, buy genuine land rover parts and service it at a main dealer, it can last a really long time. I woiuld never buy a Toyota. Ever.
@@N1ckZwhy not? Prejudice?
@@N1ckZ Couldn't care less about reliability? Good, I'll enjoy reading about how you perished out in the desert because your vehicle died on you.

Land cruiser won that before the challenge started. Also you gave him a point for not finishing and a point for messing up the hill decent.

@@chele-cheleStatistically Range Rovers are braking down mostly to people who never owned them. So you are irelevant. Btw Range Rovers are still lightning years ahead from every runned down plastic crap put together by mexican hobos, USA has ever produced.
Range rover shouldn’t have gotten a point for the rock crawl. It didn’t complete the challenge.
Matt is biased. He really tried to get out to a good end that Rover no matter what. Toyota had 0 errors, even with 100k more miles, and could do twice, meanwhile Range Rover is almost destroyed.
British car and a British man what do you think the outcome will be...
Interesting to note that the recent pickup battle, both the Isuzu and Hilux made it across that without issue. The 35" tyres probably helped to be fair...
12:00. IF they finish. So it doesn’t matter if they finish. The car that went the furthest got the most points or which did it the fastest.
How can u compare a Range Rover to a Land Cruiser ? Are u serious?
It’s an old saying, if you want to get into the bush you take a Land Rover, if you wanna get out you take a Land Cruiser.
Y'all know what they said "If you want to go into the Outback, take a Land Rover. But if you want to come back out again, make sure it's a Land Cruiser"
Love the ranger rover that in the front says “ange r” and in the back “ran over” 😂😂
I’m glad that some notices this. This is actually funny
Fond memories of an ancient and rusting Mk1 Range Rover in Saudi Arabia in the late 1980s where the letters on the front had been cleverly altered to spell 'HANG OVER' 🙂
Toyota Land Cruiser: The official Range Rover recovery vehicle 😎
We don't drive RR's off road in Australia because they simply can't be relied upon. Rovers are expensive new, fragile, and nothing on the planet dumps value better than a RR.
We all know the winner!! Not even a comparison!!
Hey Mat 👋 love your videos
Land Cruiser does NOT have air suspension . Its hydraulic.
Oil based.
Features accumulaters and hydraulic struts. Way way more reliable than air suspension.
Also shocking it cost £5000
Here in kenya, same vehicle would be £10,000 minimum
Ah, another Kenyan. And he’s knowledgeable, I don’t know why they don’t know that LCs don’t have air ride
MGC has the best Land cruiser content on the internet with your Cygnus, been following for the past 3 years. 🔥
@@devmike7890 thank you 🙏🏼
In my country it's 4x the price it's pretty much expensive
Even in the good ol' USA, that Land Rover would have gone for probably closer to $8-10k, maybe even more. $5k is insanely good value for money.
There is a saying in Australia - if you want to go to Outback you need a Land Rover, if you want to go back - a Land Cruiser
"If you want to go into the Outback, take a Land Rover. But if you want to come back out again, make sure it's a Land Cruiser."
You're absolutely right, mate!
What other choice do you have? Besides have a Land Cruiser tow the Land Rover back.
@@kellstat Nissan Patrol
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv the only problem with Nissan as a whole, and sadly the Patrol as well, is they have not manufactured any good ones for approaching decades now. The old school, I think y61/y62's are some of the best, but Nissan dropped the ball a long time ago, and not sure they will ever recover.
@@kellstat What? The Nissan Patrol has been just as good and even better than the Land Cruiser in off-road challenges, especially the Y61 and Y62 models. The reliabilty is more or less the same. They always come out on top on the challenges. You can search it up here on UA-cam.
The new QX80 looks better than the new LX600 in both specs and interior, meaning the Y63 Patrol has a good chance of being the better against the LC300
17:50 that drift was fine as heck 🔥
The 4.2 turbo diesel in the land cruiser is far better than the petrol
The one died 😂 the other take you back home safe . That's why reliability matters, land cruiser the king 👍
Land Cruiser along with Nissan Xterra also.
Yet while that LC driver will go home alone in a boring trip, the Land Rover one will make a lot of new friends, like the people who were sympathetic with him, the one who borrowed him the phone to call for the help, the wreckers drivers and others from the Land Rovers community. Lots of new stories to tell the grandsons. 🥳🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@paulog8813yes and also empty your wallet 😂

Wrong the land cruiser would get stuck where the land rover didn't 😂. And I'm on about an defender not a rangy. You can't beat a land rover offroad. Yes land cruiser may be more reliable but defenders aren't that unreliable and are super easy to fix and will hold their value better than a Toyota. I still like toyotas tho
Good job on running the same tires. So often thats not taken into account and the rubber on the wheels make all the difference rather than the car. Big thumbs up for that 👍
17:49 what a shot! Pure chaos!
“Anger Ran Over”
“Graham off road expert” is the best thing Carwow has ever done 😅
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen of yours!
Thanks for that.

Still rather have the Land Cruiser. Range Rover prides itself on 'Brotish Engineering', which hasn't exactly been great for the last 40 years 🤣🤣
I'm quite surprised that the used car market in the UK is significantly cheaper than I expected. £5,000 for a 2002 Land Cruiser is so cheap compared to my country🇵🇭, where it sells for around £13-15,000.
Same uphere in 🇩🇪
Five Grand vor a TLC...that one would dissappear in a dustcloud of rust if you would smash its door...

So, you disqualify the RR on the rocks but give it 1 point anyway.
Add to the fact that you drive like Miss Daisy and the win for the losing vehicle seems a bit hollow.
Oh, and I guess the Toyota drove home towing the RR on a trailer.
Toyota fans may be proud, but at least they're not deluded. 😎

Having driven both vehicles extensively, I can quite confidently say a RR will crp all over a landruiser everyday for on/off road driving dynamics, but in reliability and durability the landruiser is miles ahead.

Range Rovers drive home with faults all the time.
It's part of the life
I'd say that judging by the looks of the tires of the Land Cruiser it has an advantage.
Treads are identical, but side wall the LC has more of it.
Toyota Landcruiser if you want a hard wearing vehicle
Land Cruiser also recommended to use by many driving it.

I had both of these SUV's lol! Unpopular opinion, but I loved the Range Rover much more. I am a DIY-type person though so the small repairs and upkeep weren't anything crazy to me.
Totally agree, not liking all the ridiculous “love this, hate that” comments on here. Both cars good in their own way.
Range Rover is pure class and will take the rough terrain.
Land Cruiser is more utilitarian and will go anywhere on the planet without breaking down “easily” but not very sexy.
My view, different horses for different courses - so just buy both 😊
