    You are the absolute best product rep on the internet. Full explanation and then first-person visual of each wrong case is perfect -- "how you might screw up" type videos with visuals help way more than "how to" videos for a lot of us. Awesome stuff, man - thanks.

    I like how you describe the entire process to your full ability in kindergarten layman's terms. And not keeping this type of trade secret, and really giving people confidence to do this on their own. A lot of shops / companies wouldn't do this and be this helpful. Thanks for being cool and taking the time to show people how to get the absolute best look out of your product. I have only done my rims, but after watching your videos it really gave me the confidence to go for it and they came out amazing. I someday would like to do my whole car but want to wait until I can do it properly and buy that spray gun. That and garage space lol

    I have nothing bad to say about plasti dip or the dyc channel in general not only is it an affordable product, you get tips and lessons on how to use the product at home, so you can do it on an even more affordable budget than getting paint done in a shop or buying legit auto paint and I love how they include everything in the kits as well.

    So you showed how to fix stripes with a sprayer....but a lot of us can’t afford it and have to use rattle cans. Can stripes be fixed with rattle cans? I was wondering if you could show the -perfect- base coat/fix coat for stripes with rattle cans. I ask because I feel there are more rattle can users than sprayer users.

    Essentially your cutting your spray pattern by half of its fanning over the front of the sprayer "pattern" I paint latex masks and this is crucial in order to make a smooth even coat

    This is an awesome video- one suggestion, it’s hard to see your distance in these first person shots. Don’t get me wrong I love the first person! But if you cut to a side shot now and then to show distance that would be awesome!

  • @touristguy87
    @touristguy87 2 роки тому

    ok what I gather from this is that you need to be
    high but not too high, to keep the product from "graining"
    slow but not too slow, to keep the product from "pooling"
    and spray at a 90deg angle to the main area of the part, to keep graining to the non-aligned parts, but that still runs the risk of moving too close and putting too much product down on the non-aligned parts too quickly and getting runs or drips there, or moving too far away or out of plane of curved parts and graining them with overspray.
    So what do you do around curves?
    If you have bumper with a 90 deg curve, at some point you're going to put-down overspray at an angle. With paint you can just mist these parts as the paint will not grain as it goes down but it still will not wet the adjacent surfaces properly so you have to paint the curves first and then come back and lay paint down on the flat parts.

    One more tip, wait for the coat to dry fully before making judgments. Wet dip or any paint will trick you into thinking it's too wet or too dry. Spraying too early can give you pooling, striping, or blotchy finish.

    I'm a fan.

    I'm a little confused about what you say with medium coats and tight overlaps. In a normal dip job you always recommended to get fairly close with 50/50 overlap. It looks like from the video your spraying from a little further and doing about 80-90% overlaps? Do I have that right?

Sounds like a regular spray gun with all metal parts is a better option. Just coming from a perspective of someone who has been painting cars since 1980.
