This video, along with a couple others, helped me fix a dryer for $12 myself, instead of who knows how many hundreds. Really sorry to hear of his passing - hope his family knows that he's still helping people every day.
Just learned of his passing, very sad. I sincerely hope the afterlife offers comfort for the tortured souls who can no longer bear the weight of existence.
Ohhh wow, I was just trying to find a way to contact him to thank him for the detailed videos that definitely saved me hundreds on a repair. So sad to know he's gone, but happy to see he still lives on helping people.
He passed away? This guy has helped me fix a few of my appliances. He has saved us common folk millions in all the repairs he's showed us how to do. He will truly be missed.
Thank you so much. I have NEVER been as extremely satisfied with a how to video, as I am with yours!!!! Crisp, clean, precise and exactly what was expected. No pointless tangents or wasted time. I am now subscribed. I appreciate you!!!
This is the first time I've ever commented - seriously, I had to create a UA-cam account just to THANK YOU for this step-by-step dryer belt replacement! Clear, concise, no advertisements or being condescending. I fixed my dryer by myself following your instructions (and a lot of 'pause' button). Thank you very much for valuable service!
I'm sorry to see that Bill has passed on, but his memory and great legacy lives on. This video was a super big help to me in replacing the belt and idler pulley on my Samsung dryer.
Today Sir! I’ve followed your steps carefully. Thank you for taking your time out to make this awesome video. My Dryer is like new again. I was able to clean the entire inside before I got down to installing new pulley and the belt. My wife is very grateful as I am. Thank you 🙏 Thank You! Awesomeness….!
I wanted to say thanks for the great video. Here in 2024, this video helped me replace the belt on a newer Samsung Model. Wanted people to know that even though Bill is not longer with us, he is still helping people with his pragmatic step by step how to videos.
This is the what made and makes UA-cam great. Last year I fixed a different issue and now I am replacing the belt. Without UA-cam I would 100% have broken the drying trying to take it apart. It also helps a TON to see how the belt goes on visually. Thank you. A thumbs up for sure and a Thank you. A world where we all fix our own stuff (when we can) is a better place. And then call in the "big guns" for tough stuff and pay them for expertise. YOU ROCK.
Extremely helpful as my Samsung dryer stopped suddenly today. Followed video instructions and quickly realized I need a new idler pulley assembly. Saved myself some $$$ because of this gentleman!
This video has helped me twice now on the belt change out. For Bill's family, thanks for keeping this treasure of vids posted. His mannerisms, video direct format were supreme. I hope is memory lives on with his loved ones. Thanks again.
I was fully counting on the fact that I would need to buy a new dryer. Then I stumble upon this video and boom, just like that it's working like a charm. You saved me hundreds of dollars, thank you so much for the video!
Thanks Bill, I liked and subscribed. You wasted no time getting right to it and I was able to follow what you did and fix my dryer. The repair man is out 30 days and it was $100 just to take a look. Took me all of 15 minutes with your instructions and some help from my wife. Thanks for taking the time to post this. Huge money and time saver.
Bill!!!! Thank you sooooo much for helping me save money!!! I cant help but celebrate and do a happy dance!! Im a female and I fixed my dryer!!!! Saved myself $250! Paid $8 for my belt!!!
What a superb video. I'm a bit of a Luddite, so I watched the video and wrote down the instructions on a card to have next to me while I worked on the dryer. The instructions in the video are so clear that I didn't even have to come back to the video to complete the repair. Truly an excellent explanation.
Called appliance repair shop this morning. "We're booking a week out". Tennant just moved in. Watched your video, picked up the required belt and had it all done within 4 hours of getting the call from my frustrated tenant. You saved my ass! Thank you for posting such a valuable set of videos! I ALMOST feel like I should be sending you a check! :-)
Thanks so much Bill. This video was very helpful. Thanks so much for making it. I replaced the belt (it was clearly broken, resting on the bottom of our dryer) per your thorough instructions, but when I got all done, it still won't start and it is giving me a de error. Our meter says the door switch is working fine. Any ideas what to try/do next? I have done a lot of searching and can't find any answers. We have a Samsung model number DV210AGW/XAA.
Bill, thank you very much for the well done video. I first saw your one about "Samsung Dryer Won't Start or Spin - Troubleshooting and Repair Guide" and was "happy" to see a broken belt when I took off the top panel. Only $8.64 and 24-hours later I a replacement from Amazon. My spouse and I worked together on the project. Removal of everything was very easy. I had a few stumbles on putting things back but nothing major. If I tried it again I would get it done in less than 30-mins. The biggest challenge was getting my gas dryer back on the periscope vent. We also cleared out a great amount of lint build up before the blower motor. We feel much safer now and we suspect that clothes will dry faster as well.
This video allowed me to fix my dryer for $0 and fix it the night the issue occurred. I otherwise would have paid $100 for my home warranty to fix it and would’ve waited weeks for them to schedule a visit to come out. Happy house all around! Will be watching more videos as things come up. Very much appreciated!
Omg bill, thank you! You saved us $100s with this video! My neighbor helped me replace our dryer belt with this video and now it works great. Only glitch was using my phone as a flashlight and accidently leaving it inside! Was able to get it out after removing the vent cover 😁 Thanks again, keep posting!
My 10 year old Samsung Dryer belt finally snapped this morning... and THIS VIDEO saved the day!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!! (Was expecting a $200 service visit and after watching this video and a trip to the local Lowes... $8 and a beer...... THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!
Thanks for this video pal. I'm a new homeowner so all appliance issues are new to me too. When my dryer stopped spinning I thought I was done for and had to buy a new one. Very thankful for your tutorial, when I'm not lazy I'll post when I fix my dryer. 😅
Thank goodness there was a video guide that was instrumental to assisting my husband with the repair. Keep making videos because we need them. Thanks again Dennis and Denise.
Thank yuuuuu! My daughter and I just finished changing the dryer belt ourselves bc of your awesome video. Very easy to follow. As we followed the steps we put the screws in numbered ziplocks that we labeled so we could reverse the steps to put the dryer back together. The final step with the pulley was the worst and it took both of us reaching in to get the belt on the pulley and knob. In case another novice reads this grab someone to help. Again thank you!!!
Thank you! My dryer sounded horrible and with the help of your videos I was able to replace the rollers, belt, and idler pulley for $35, and it really didn't take very long.
After watching your troubleshooting video I figured out my dryer popped the belt @8pm Sunday night full of kids school cloths for tomorrow 😁 now that I watched this video it's up in running in 15min! Thank you!
Thanks for the how-to. My belt had just come off the pulley, and I couldn't figure how it was supposed to go back on. This was a great help and saved me a bunch of money!
This video is awesome. It helped me fix my dryer when the belt broke. One thing, though -- the idler pulley spring on my unit was insanely stiff and I couldn't get the belt over the drive wheel. So I took the spring out -- its super easy to remove -- and stretched it with a set of pliers in each hand. That gave me the extra stretch to get the belt on.
Just did mine, thanks to you it took about 20 minutes and cost me 10 bucks, likely would have been a hundred to get a repair man out here. I really appreciate your making of these videos, thanks.
Thanks to this video I was able to fix my dryer's broken belt and destroyed idler pulley on my own. I'm a programmer not a handyman so this was a big deal to me. About $25 in parts and elbow grease. Saved me at least over $100. Thank you for this!!
Thank you. After hours of googling my Samsung and calling Samsung, I came across your video. Not only did I learn my dryer had a sensor on the belt tensioner, you gave me Easy steps to fix it. Samsung quite $275. With your help $15 and one hour of my life.
I successfully replaced my dryer belt with this video. When I opened the dryer up, there was no belt. It had snapped due to wear. I checked the part number from Sears and ordered the belt off of Amazon. I dried a full 48 minute load and its running great. Thanks for the awesome and helpful video. You saved me $70 on a repairman.
I was so mad I tried to use this video to fix mine and a saw you put the belt on then start putting it back together, I stopped the video started to try and figure it out on my own then I remembered you removed the vent on the back, came back to your video to watch the whole thing and it was just what I needed. Got it fixed with no issues . Thank you
I just saved a bunch of money because of this video. I’m very handy but wasn’t sure about the dryer but with this simple video I was able to figure out that my pulley for the belt was busted and had to be replaced. Thank you 🙏🏾
It's 10:30 pm on a Thursday night and my wife emerges from the laundry room saying, "Umm, the dryer is not drying the clothes. Can you take a look?" Since I had to work all day Friday and it was the start of a 3 day weekend, I knew I had to diagnose the problem that night and get the part on Friday. Your video saved the day! I dismantled that Samsung dryer and diagnosed a bad heating element. Luckily a local parts supplier - Ideal Appliance Parts in New Orleans, LA had the part in stock! Thank you, sir!
This was amazing, I ordered the part and it came with the rollers, my husband asked why I got the other parts. I told him just in case. When he got the drum out the belt wasn't broken, it was the rollers! He replaced them and went ahead and put the new belt on so we wouldn't have to do it again. Thank You so much!
Thanks Bill, you just saved me a $100 service call. Belt had just came off the pulley system. Watched your video and 15 mins later we were back to a perfectly running dryer. Thanks again and this will be the first place I look to if anything happens down the road.
Dude, thank you for these awesome videos, I had no idea how to trouble shoot my Samsung (no codes came up) but by watching these great videos I had a good idea what to look for. Turns out the tension spring came off and damaged the belt. Went to parts store, and about hour later, good to go. Please keep up the great work
Great video! It helped me replace the broken belt on my Samsung DV438 dryer. NOTE to the VIEWERS: Before putting the new belt on, yank the drum out (it is not attached to anything... it is being held in place by the back and front covers). Once the drum is out, vacuum everything and inspect the tension pulley. You may need to replace that as well (it may be the cause for the ripped belt). GREAT VIDEO! THANKS BILL!
Thank you!!! My husband is our resident handyman, but he was out of town and our dryer broke. I was able to diagnose and fix it (within several hours of it breaking) thanks to your video, saving a few hundred on a repair bill (and getting a great sense of satisfaction and some hilarious social media comments thanks to my chronicles of a wild and crazy Thursday night)! ;) And now I can dry the laundry that's hanging all over the house!
Thanks! My son and I followed the directions and were successful in fixing the dryer! Only suggestion is to warn about different screws and keeping track. Great video!
thank you for your videos, we have a Samsung dryer that had power but stopped spinning. with your troubleshooting i was able to see that the belt was still on but loose.removed the vent tube to inspect the motor and found that the tensioner had melted from a bad bearing. ordered and replaced tensioner and with this video routed the belt correctly and reinstalled. success.
This was awesome! Snapped a belt washing football uniforms. Got an estimate for $400 to fix. Ordered a belt on Amazon for about $30 and my wife and I replaced it. I am 100% NOT mechanical but this video made it super easy!
This video helped me put on a new belt that had broken and I also took the opportunity to do preventive maintenance by also replacing the heating element. 5 star video, Bill Newberry saved me a lot of money.
Best ever video that helped me repair an unusual Kenmore Elite 592-893080 Dryer with zero-experience! Due to the bad design, it was really difficult to disassemble the covers and reach the parts from the small vent hole. Many thanks for sharing!
Thanks dude! Saved me $900+ on a new Samsung Dryer. Bought the belt and rollers and spring tensioner for $40. Took about 3 hours in total taking my time. :)
I have to be honest here this is the best video with full detail that I've ever seen on UA-cam it was short straight to the point everything open will we can see exactly what's going on it's a great job I appreciate it and I have subscribed thank you
Thanks for making this video. I just fixed my dryer by replacing the Idler Pulley/Arm, which cost $9.97 plus tax on Amazon. I appreciate your help in having made that possible.
THANKYOU! Your video worked like a charm & your directions were "spot on". When our belt broke, the spring also came off. Couldn't tell which end went where at first but my hubby figured it out. Your video saved us a bundle. So appreciative.
Very nice video, thank you! A coworker just gave me a similar Samsung dryer that should only need a belt, which is less than $10 online (and maybe the idler pulley, which isn't much either). Then I can see if anyone in the family needs a dryer, and if not I can sell it for easy money. Thanks for showing the process and giving me the confidence to order the belt.
Thanks to your clear and concise directions on how to fix my dryer belt I saved a bunch of money. I am thankful for folks like you that are willing to share knowledge.
I just bought a shipping damaged Samsung dryer from Lowes for $550, usually $1200. Big dent in the right side lower towards the rear. Got it home and there was scrapping noise when it ran. Thanks for this video, I fixed it in ten minutes getting inside and beat the dent out a bit. Great dryer bargain price!
Thanks so much, Bill! This video, and the one about diagnosing the noises helped me fix my dryer. One of the rollers wouldn't spin which wore down the metal in the pulley wheel and snapped the belt. I didn't have the correct angle to get in the back hole with my right hand, and definitely not enough space for two hands. And I didn't have enough strength for pushing with my left hand to thread the belt the way you showed. But I thought through it. I looped the belt under the motor from the right side and under to the left side of the pulley. Then, with my left hand, I lifted the pulley all the way up with my last two fingers, grabbed the belt to the right of the motor with my thumb, and squeezed (and grunted) until I got it slipped around the left side of the pulley wheel! Same result, but I looped around the motor and then the pulley rather than the pulley and then the motor like you did.
Hey Bill. Thanks a ton for this video brother. My son and I were able to change the drive belt on our dryer because of it. There are no appliance repair folks around these parts so it is either fix it yourself or buy new. Your videos saved us a lot of money.
Thank you Bill. My husband fixed our 2 year old dryer last night using this video! He does not like to do home repairs, but you made it easy and inexpensive!
This helped me in 2022. My wife was ready to buy a new dryer while I was away. She waited until i got home and Now i look like a handyman because all we needed was a belt. 👍🏾👍🏾
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video. We had a mouse crawl into the dryer and then die. I won't describe the smell. You can only imagine. Got the mouse out, and thoroughly cleaned the dryer to remove the stench (Baking soda, peppermint oil, lysol and bleach (at separate times) did the trick. However, when my wife was cleaning the inside of the drum, she must've tried moving the drum the wrong direction, because she heard a snap. Thanks you your video, I was able to confirm that the belt came off the pulleys, and successfully (amidst some colorful words) get it reattached, and now our dryer is back to its pre-mouse condition. And more importantly, I"m not out a few hundred bucks for a weekend repair call. Thanks again!
This video gave me everything I needed to replace the dryer belt in my Samsung dryer. A side note is I heard a clicking sound after replacing the belt. I took off the three plastic ribs inside the dryer drum and found a dime in one of them. Belt replaced and clicking sound solved. Thanks for the help...
**TRICK FOR REATTACHING BELT** My model had only a small circle cut out in back so I could not get two hands in and I couldn't get the leverage to push up on the spring while wrapping the new belt around with one hand. Soooo... I took apart the dryer again and used a clamp to secure the pulley in an upright position then put the drum and belt back on, and it was much easier to wrap the belt around everything without having to keep the pulley up. Everything else in this video was great. Could not have done any of this without the video. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! Just bought a condo with included appliances.... After washing my clothes, I had the surprise to realise that the belt on the dryer was broken.... 30$ for a new one and 2 hours of work and it runs like a new one!
Thank you so much! My belt had just come off of the idler pulley, so I was able to put it back on myself for free! If you had a Patreon, I would donate!
This video saved me a lot of money. Thanks for what you’ve shown here. My Samsung was a bit different and had to put that belt on one handed…. Not easy but doable. Again thanks
Thank you so much for you video series on the Samsung dryer. My dryer had a broken belt, through your videos I was able to disassemble and fix the problem saving me an expensive repair bill! Thanks again!
Dryer broke this morning. Took me 2 hours to fix it. An hour and a half for Lowes to open, and 30 minutes to actually complete the repair, thanks to this video.
This video *really* helped my Uncle and I fix a Kenmore dryer that is the exact same. We referenced this video multiple times not only for easier disassembly but also for your excellent camera work *inside* the dryer. It's such a small hole to work through. That video footage of inside the dryer was essential in us doing this job. This is the second time we've been in this dryer. The heating element went on it a couple of years back and we replaced that. If you're able, doing it yourself really saves tonnes of money. We've always been a do it yourself family. My Grandfather was a farmer so that's where that comes from I think. Anyway, thanks a million! I'm sure I'll find more of your videos useful in the future. 👍
I know Bill is no longer with us but thanks for keeping his videos online, he was a good teacher and his videos are top quality.

How sad! He helped my husband and I (we are 68 &71) fix our 17 year old dryer! I hope he’s having a good time in Heaven…

Same here! Thanks
Thank you so much for your help. Bill's legacy lives on and still impacts people today.
I am a 56 year old woman and was able to fix my dryer with this video. Thank you so much for saving me money. A rather quick fix!!

A $9 belt, Phillips head screwdriver and this guy's video is all you need. Thank you very much!
All repair videos need to use this as a template. Saved my neighbour a costly house call. Thank you.

I too put the belt on one handed in the name of solidarity. This video was a life saver, thank you so much for your help!
OUTSTANDING step by step process to repair my daughters dryer. Incredibly helpful - good job thank you .
Thank you for your video I was able to fix my dryer for 15$. As a women I feel very empowered. ❤️
Thanks Bill!!! Super helpful video. I just saved money and fixed my dryer myself because of you.
I appreciate your help in having made that possible.
still relevant, I am no stranger to DIY projects but it was extremely convenient watching this video. thank you.
THANKYOU! Your video worked like a charm & your directions were "spot on". When our belt broke, the spring also came off. Couldn't tell which end went where at first but my hubby figured it out. Your video saved us a bundle. So appreciative.
Just did my Samsung front loader thanks to you! Job was very doable, replaced all rollers, belt and idler pulley. Thanks!
Decided to try your instructions before calling a repair company. I was able to complete the repair on my own with your guidance! Thank you!!
Thank you sooo much for this video! I’ve had no dryer for 2 weeks. Thanks to this video my dryer is up and running!
Thanks for making this video! I replaced the belt on my dryer today. Thanks to your video the repair cost me less than twenty bucks!!!!
Fantastic video. Belt replacement took 1 hour. Make sure that the spring that provides tension is i n place. Ours had fallen off. THANK YOU
This helped me in 2022.
Thank you so much brother. It cost me $9 and 2 hours of my time to fully clean inspect and repair my dryer
One of the most helpful do it yourself videos yet. Thank you for publishing this.
you just saved me $100s. I bought the belt for $13 and via your video, I have a working dryer.
Thank you so much! My belt had just come off of the idler pulley, so I was able to put it back on myself for free! If you had a Patreon, I would donate!
Same problem on my dryer!! This video saved me!!
This video saved me a lot of money. Thanks for what you’ve shown here. My Samsung was a bit different and had to put that belt on one handed…. Not easy but doable. Again thanks
Thank you so much!!! You saved us an expensive repair bill, really appreciate it!
Thank you so much for you video series on the Samsung dryer. My dryer had a broken belt, through your videos I was able to disassemble and fix the problem saving me an expensive repair bill! Thanks again!
Bill thanks for this video. I fixed my dryer for just $11. Great video and so simple to understand.
Thank you, your videos helped me fix my dryer and saved me around $300
Dryer broke this morning. Took me 2 hours to fix it. An hour and a half for Lowes to open, and 30 minutes to actually complete the repair, thanks to this video.
Hey Bill, this is Maria... Anyways I fixed my dryer... With your video... ;) Proud of myself. Thank you.
Thank you got this. Almost spent $899 for a new dryer last night and it’s a simple $8 problem 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Your video just saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you for your service.
