Great video! Replacing the motor solved a peculiar problem I was having with my 9 year old Samsung dryer. The issue was it would start - but then stop roughly every 5 seconds. Then 60 seconds later, start and run for 5 seconds before stopping. I wouldn't have guessed it was the motor because the motor worked. But evidently there's some sensor or built in fail safe that dies over time. Replacing the motor cost me far less than the wife wanting an entirely new washer and dryer set :). And thanks for the video, it really helped!

Thank you for making a good tutorial video. Also to people who are having trouble getting the blower wheel off. I used a heat gun and penetrating oil and just kept taping with a hammer and punch around the bearing race until it popped free.
Kind of amazing how simple these dryers go together. Thanks again.

Thanks for the heat gun idea, I spent an hour trying to beat the shaft back with a hammer, was just about to give up, then saw your comment....pulled out the heat gun and had the blower wheel off in less than 5 minutes. I had already soaked in penetrating oil overnight, so at least had already thought of that.

I don't have a heat gun but I did put penetrating oil on it but it didn't work. What I did was put a long metal pipe on the handle of my ratchet wrench to give me a longer arm to pull on so it increased the torque. It turned with little force!!

Just changed out the motor on my dryer, saved so much money and it was so easy. Definitely recommend doing it with another person if it is your first time, only took about 35 minutes with 2 people. The hardest part is taking taking off the clips that hold down the motor (which wasn't even that hard). Take your time and don't get frustrated then spend the extra 250 dollars you would spend on a repair man and get yourself something nice.

Thanks so much. My dryer was the slightest bit different, but this saved me $500 at least. It kept turning off after about 20 seconds and had a burnt smell. Replacing the motor (and a good cleaning) fixed it. And I didn’t even have any screws left over!

Great video!! It helped me out very much. I tried to order the part from your website, but you did not have it. One thing I would add is that the motor mount has an indentation at the bottom (see at 8:19-8:22). There is a corresponding "bump" on the motor that fits into that indentation. It is located on both motor mounts at the blower and pully ends. I didn't see that mentioned in the video. If the motor is not seated properly, it may move (rotate) as the belt turns or you may have a hard time putting the motor clamps back on.
Also, I have seen people say that the blower nut is hard to remove. I also had this problem. My solution: I had a 3 feet pipe laying around that I slid over the handle of my ratchet wrench giving more torque as I turned the nut clockwise. I only needed very little force to get the nut turning.

Excellent video on the install. I have a question, my Samsung Dryer probably needs a motor and has been verified by Samsung that my motor part # is DC31-00055D. Your parts list doesn't show that number being good. Does the motor you have ending with a G replace the one I have ending with a D?
Thank you and again that was a great tutorial.

Like some others here I'm having trouble getting the blower wheel off. I got the nut loosened, however there appears to be some adhesive holding the wheel on the shaft. It might the remnants of a rubber or plastic washer that melted with the heat, but its got everything stuck on there good

My blower wheel was stuck too. Not sure if it was the right thing to do but it worked. I took out the entire motor base plate out with the blower wheel attached still. It was 4 screws. Sprayed WD-40 and let it soak, then smacked it a bunch with a rubber mallet. 😂😅🤷‍♂️
