5 years ago my daughter gave me the news i was going to be a grandfather. It was my first grand child so i did as you. I thought up a design and proceeded to making a bassinet. I used jatoba and flame maple as my woods. These days it gets passed around for whomever in the family is having a baby. Out of everything i have ever made, it is still my favorite and most memorable project. Congratulations pawpaw..
What a great project and fantastic results! I really like your videos because you come across as just a regular woodworker (like I assume most of your viewers are), you explain why you made the choices you made, you don't hide your mistakes (we all make them) and you're not trying to sell something. I hope you make many more videos in the same format and style. And congratulations on your new grandson!
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed watching this. Thanks for the "extra work" recording it. Someday that little man will treasure this video more than you might think. Keep it up.
Scott, the bald guy, asked me if I had seen this video, and I had missed it. This is one of your best, not only for the excellent workmanship but also because the last minutes are what it's all about. Just wait my friend it gets even better.
You Sir, did a great job, congratulations for the incoming baby!! The best time of our lives it's now, so please keep going on with your inspiration building beautiful things just for the Joy of doing them. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you, Mark! I did 3 takes on that closing due to my eyes starting to sweat each time. After the 3rd time I still couldn't keep it together so I just left it. Ha! I'll be in touch soon to talk about the thing. ;)
I enjoyed your video very much. I believe at the beginning of your video you said you hadn''t made any furniture before. After watching your video I believe you ought to build more furniture, your good at it. God Bless You brother.
Congrats Grandpa! (I typed that prior to WATCHING the darn video). Mr. M&S Woodworks, I cannot tell ya the amount of times I laughed OUT LOUD while TRYING to eat my dinner and watch your GREAT video! LOL…. I have the big Elite coming soon-with the 220 spindle too!, and I retire in a couple years, so I hope to get up to speed on this CNC thing…. Your videos are inspirational. Thank you kind sir!
This is an incredible build mate. I'd kinda given up looking at CNC's thinking they were limited to craft stall knick knacks. This build has changed my mind. Well done, and congratulations on the new arrival!
First and foremost, a big congratulations on being a grandparent. Your bassinet build is beautiful. A heirloom piece that will be in your family for generations. I hope you signed and dated the bassinet. If not, please do so. It just adds another level of special to this beautiful build in years to come. I have built two cradles for my two grandchildren and those builds continue to bring fond memories even today. Thanks for taking the time to document this build as this video will bring joy to that young man in years to come. May God richly and abundantly bless you and your family.
I haven't actually watched a video that meant something to the maker in ...ever. Wow. Great work. Great video. And congratulations. I've thought about making my table similar but didn't know how to go about it. Now I see you've done it so I hope I can figure out what you did so I can do it too. Thanks for showing that 4th axis. I hope I can hook one up to mine someday. I won't forget this video. Very nicely done with a huge touch of humble pie and humanity.
Thank you! The very first video on my channel, I go into much more detail on the table and the rotary. Check it out and maybe it'll help you with more ideas on your build! Good luck and thank you for watching!!
Wow that is pretty awesome. I was just searching for OneFinity clips and saw yours. You have inspired me to build a table for my cnc like yours. I hope I can start building my workshop in our garage this year and end up with my cnc next year. I am also a father of two young kids and you make my cry when I saw your result at the end. You can be proud of your work and your grandchild. God bless you and your family.
I am jealous of the vertical clamping, wanted to integrate that into my cnc for a while. Maybe when the newer one arrives. As for Mike and Jeremy, what great friends, sorry to hear about their shortcomings.
Way to go grandad! You have created something that generations will use. I just hope that your grandchild will actually like being in is as my daughter preferred a crib to this.
Hello there. I also have a Onefinity and I have also made my first piece of furniture with it, will see when I have time to post my video and voice on youtube. What you have created is very nice, incredibly beautiful. Love how you compliment your friend Mike. LOL Keep up the nice work you are doing😍
An exceptional project. I'm also a Onefinity CNC owner and am certainly aware of it's capabilities, but as you would know there is more to CNC machining than just operating the machine. You have excelled yourself with this labor of love, Bravo mate.
Very impressive project. It's nice to use your new toys on something that will be around for years and be passed down through your family. I love your sense of humour but I hope your frend does not start a UA-cam channel as you will get some come back. Cheers Dave.
Wonderful motivation, beautiful design, excellent execution, outstanding result. Passable cinematography. Well done. Congratulations, Grampa. BTW, that might be the last time you use Mike's router table LOL
That is beautiful. Outstanding job. I recently made my granddaughter one and used my cnc to make the head & footboard as well as other parts for it. Again, outstanding job!
As the bald guy you have mentioned, I feel obligated to help you out. I think the issue you are facing with the camera shots is that gaudy watch you are wearing. I am curious though...does it pickup a Dish or DirecTv signal? Let me know if you need more tips.
Dear iPhone fanboy, Don't make fun of my android watch and it's far superior capabilities over the antiquated apple watch. Besides, I used to have an apple watch but it was always 24 hours slow.
Sadly no. I have never been one to make or write plans, and I just made the cuts as I go. Here's what I did... I found a free STEP file for a baby cradle on GrabCad, and I changed up some of the features to suit my tastes, using Fusion 360. Once I had it like I wanted, I just exported svg's of the sketches and used those to make the cut files in Vcarve. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!
You do a great job with your videos. I’ve produced some videos on a totally different subject matter using DaVinci Resolve. That has its own leaning curve in addition to your woodworking skills. Mighty fine on both. Which OneFininity do you own? Did you go with their controller and screen? Thanks!
Thank you Bill! That means a lot! I am constantly toying with Davinci Resolve trying to polish my technique. You noticing really means a ton! I bought the original Onefinity Journeyman about 2 years ago. I outgrew the stock controller pretty quick. When they announced the new Elite machine, and the future upgrade option for current machine owners, I got really excited. But seeing how long their lead times were I knew it would be several months before us old folks would have a chance at the upgrade, and I was correct since they just released the upgrade a couple of months ago. I have zero patience and I wanted it right then! Ha! So I ordered the MASSO controller and steppers straight from MASSO and upgraded it myself. I don't have the touch screen. I run my display through a 32 inch TV I have mounted over my machine. If you are interested, I talk about the upgrade and how I did it in my very first video, which you can find on my channel. Again, thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching!

And just so you know... I am Pawpaw Scott! ;)
Thank you for watching!
….This is a GREAT way to bless the family with a tradition/family heirloom.. I hope to be able to-some day- to provide something THIS wonderful.
Ok. CNC woodworking videos aren’t supposed to make me cry. This was beautiful in every aspect. Congratulations Grandpa!
Poor Mike!! So glad you can add some humor to your videos. The bassinet came out beautiful & congratulations!
Had me lmao when you made sure to mention Mike for the use of his router table.

Can’t wait to see what you can build when you call yourself a woodworker what an amazing job 👍
Thank you!
I use wood glue.
Maybe that qualifies me as a woodworker. 😁
Thank you for watching!!
I am jealous of the vertical clamping, wanted to integrate that into my cnc for a while. Maybe when the newer one arrives. As for Mike and Jeremy, what great friends, sorry to hear about their shortcomings.

Beautiful project!
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful, both projects.
Very impressive and well done! I am still striving to make something that complex, and to that level of detail.
Very very nice
