I’m watching this as I haven’t had a retwist in two months. LOL I absolutely love my hair about 2-3 weeks after the retwist like you. I really only enjoy the retwist to see how much my hair has grown 😂😂

I retwist every 5 weeks. Just started my journey again and my locs are already budding after 6 weeks. Every individual is different….i prefer the neat look as I work in a professional space

I am swimmer so my locs get wet. I have to wash them everyday so i stopped caring about twisting . They are so healthy. All i do is condition , hydrate and separate. So much better. Makes me less anxious too
Basically he saying 2-3 months. 6-8 months. 1-2 years. And congos will come. So don’t stress and if you have fixed Locs. Instead of all natural Locs. Don’t stress.
The scalp look is not for me. 13 years in and I do not retwist. As far as issue with corporate, Im a financial accountant that works in the financial district of the city. I am always the only black girl with non manicured locs. Never had an issue.
The longest I’ve gone without a retwisting recently was 4 months...Let me tell you my scalp and hair is the healthiest it’s ever been.
I started my journey during this pandemic. Initially my thought process was to maintain by going to the loctitions. Bro absolute myth. Everyting lockaarrrfff. Went 5months without a retwist. My locs were going back to back like Red & Meth. You hit the nail on the head. Just allow your hair to do its thing. It will all work out. Trust in the process its a full on learning curve. My hair right now couldn't be healthier ✊🏾✊🏽
appreciated this vid. i feel the same way. and more people definitely need to hear this. i feel a lot of the conversations around retwists (lowkey haircuts too) are rooted in antiblackness. the perception of looking ‘neat’ and ‘clean’ is so damaging to how our hair naturally grows.
I love leaving my hair to do what it does on its own, so I'm with you on that. I go a month, at least, between retwists. I'm on month 7 of my loc journey. Your videos have been so helpful. 🙏🏽

Almost 4 years in only had my hair twisted twice. Once to start and another year and a half in. My hair looks great and I'm glad I chose to follow my own journey without loctician.
