My tip is don't compare your journey with someone else's.
Queen Kahwanna Nashan great tip!! Comparison can be a huge killer of confidence. All Locs are beautiful!
@@TPlocks So true. I've seen it happen within the loc community. Your locs are dope btw.
That’s my problem
@@TPlocks that's like saying all people are beautiful and you know that's not true.
@@AJfinity These things are subjective. What one finds ugly, another may deem beautiful. No different with locs. I appreciate how everyone’s hair locks in it’s own unique way. It’s like art. I can appreciate realism and abstract art too. 🤷🏾♂️
when it comes to frizzy locs I believe we as black people have to embrace it because our hair isn't straight to begin with
HAHA! .. ha .... haha ... I'm more white, than the wall behind me, and I've always had frizzy hair ...
Frizzy locs not frizzy hair
Personally, i love the frizz. It’s been 3 months and i have not made much progress besides alot of frizz. And I’m ok with that.
Sam you’ve already got the mindset it seems most need a lot of time to get to! The “how do I minimize the frizz?” question is a very common one! 😅
When u talk about dreads, you tilt towards the palm rolled dreads. Some of us used the interlock method, include us too
@@TPlocks what’s the difference between frizz and stray hairs
me too
Me too, IMO they look more natural than perfectly cooked and uniformed locs
The thing I learned from a lot of other channels is that when washing your hair in the first 4 to 5 months. Just put a durag on and the shampoo will still get through and clean the hair.
Yup that’s actually one of my most popular videos talking about that exact method! 🔥
I look in the mirror everyday like “WHEN are these going to swell”😩
Same 😭
Yeah same😓
How is it going rn?
same
Embrace the frizz! 😆 your locs look fantastic friend. Peace & Blessings ❤️💛💚
I’m trying to 🙂
Just finding your channel as I start my loc journey and you are by far the most informative and personable. I really enjoy your content!
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the content! I think the best part about the channel is the helpful and supportive community! Welcome to my lil loc family! ✊🏾
i just passed the 2month threshold of my lock journey thanks you for this video low key helped to not go crazy about those damn frizzy locks LOL
Yo man love the vids been growing my hair out for a year and a half and wanted to get into the loc game vids very informative keep up the good work
Just subscribed. Found you from Reddit! I’m 5 months in and this entire video is so helpful. Especially the end! My locs have never come out of the section but they HAVE had plenty stray hairs come out the coil so that really eased my mind about the journey!
Good info, I have braided so I am not worry about my first part of my journey. I am just enjoying this.
aye bruh i know im a lil late but this genuinely help me out so much and now I'm much more confident in my loc journey W mans fr
THANKS you gave me back some hope
Happy to help!
Great video. Me personally I love the frizz and the whole rough look. I’m dealing with a little thinning but I see a lot of growth since my last retwist as well. Overall you are helping my first Loc experience bro no doubt 💯
I’m glad bro!! The rough look is the best one man. I hate the retwist look. A little thinning be normal though. Sometimes its caused by breakage and hairs leaving the loc from the root just not getting twisted back into it. That kinda thinning can be fixed!! I’m just glad to help bro!! ✊🏾🙏🏾
Tomorrow It will be literally a week since I've had my locs and I just wanted to know if going through a combining/budding phase is normal?
THIS!! I have naturally fine hair with medium density. I embrace frizz because it’ll make my hair appear thicker with greater density. Embrace the frizz. I don’t even like geling down my baby hairs. I love the natural look.
@@EANDM71 exactly
It’s funny cause i almost like the frizz with a fresh line up more than an actual retwist 😂. I’m about 1 month in been a sub for a lil while now preciate the vids
I’m preparing myself for Thursday I’m getting my first starter locs!
How are your locs now, I am 2 weeks into my journey, I am interested in your progress
@@slaughterf1669 They are touching the top of my back! I love them!
@@fleurdiva good to hear
how are ur locs now ? i’m almost 4 months :)
Thank You Bro u helped me out a lot ! Calmed my nerves ✊🏿
Great video! Keep them coming!
I appreciate it forreal! Imma keep em coming fasho!!!
Wow your hairs grown from your latest video!! great tips!!
Frizz don’t bother me as much because I had locs before but this time, I’m noticing changes in a month of my journey so it’s exciting
No lie, sometimes the frizz still bothers me, especially near the roots, but you get used to it for sure!!
I love all your videos
I appreciate the love and support! 🙏🏾 Here for y’all at the end of the day!
Thank you for the information, I have an appointment July 22 to get my hair loc 😁
Let’s goo!!! So exciting!!!
Thank you handsome for this information.
What I panic about is bunching. Could you do a video on how to identify budding from bunching? And how to fix bunching?
had a few that seemed to be coming out but i’m learning that locs knit from the top down so i have to stay patient going into month 3 🔥
Yo locs raw🔥
I appreciate it bruh!!! 🔥
Subbed, I like ur content bro 🔥
Art Locs I appreciate it bro! I post every week so stay tuned! ✊🏾🔥
Noti Gang
Gang Gang!! 🔥
My hair is 3b I’m only 1 month in and hard for me to look at all the frizziest lol but I’m dealing. Thanks for da videos
Happy to help! I got pics I can share of my locks in the early stages. It's all apart of the journey. =) I'm glad you have such a positive outlook on it!
I really don't mind the frizz in general, I think some frizz is good, but my hair is pretty short and that along with the unraveling sometimes just makes me frustrated
Yes!! Can I ask, what is your loc count? You may have said it before, excuse me I’m a new subscriber.
Frizz will disappear with time and consistant twisting of the root AND lenght of the loc. We are not here to tame our hair here ! Locs is not usually good with that
In the very beginning of my loc journey, I interlocked my hair but quickly realized it isn't for me. I decided to retwist but I still have the tight "knots" of the interlocking. My fear is that I'll have to live with the fact that the interlocked parts won't swell like the rest of my starters and that they'll be visibly warped by interlocking
Omg, me too. I interlocked my hair a month ago after 1 month of starter locs. Worst decision ever. It makes me want to start over cuz i hate that interlock part. That knot is not budding. And idk if it ever will.
I made the decision last month to comb out my hair and restart but with instant locs! I don’t have the exact same emotional attachment to my locs like I did before, but I’m so much more relaxed when it comes to my hair! It’s freeing! I advise that if you aren’t happy now with you hair, do what make you happy! If restarting and fixing mistakes will make you happy, do it! So worth it! 😁
Im about to start my loc journey this sunday and wanted to know what do i do if the loc comes out?
I don't no how u guys love the frizz I hate it am considering to cut dem off
I have had my loc for a 4 week getting my first retwist is it ok if you cant see your parts
Wassup brother I’m a few weeks into my locs how often should I wash my hair? My barber said I should wait a month or two before I get a retwist but I didn’t ask him how or how often and what products do you recommend for everyday use?
How them locs looking now bro
Yea I started my locs on May 15th with two strand twist and already dealing with frizz 😭 and unraveling I’m going through it 😂 also I’m wearing a bonnet to sleep in. Is that good?
I wouldn’t say wearing a bonnet is bad but as long as it isn’t a really loose bonnet, because from experience I got my starter locs retwisted like a month in. And they went right back to looking like I didn’t get a retwist at all. So I would recommend wearing a bandanna or something that could firmly hold your dreads down so they don’t unravel and you could keep the neat look longer.
Aelikss thank you so much! I was wearing a stocking cap as well and they make the locs in the back look crinkly
My mom did my first retwist and I'm thankful but now there are these big puffs of hair in between the root and the tips. is the anything that I can do about it or is this just how my locks are going to be forever
I look so rough with frizz😂
Do u think starting wit two strand twist will look good ?
For sure! It’s a very popular method honestly!
the condition thing
I need help with my dreads
So my starter locs have unraveled or swelled 3 days after getting them. I think its because we didn't dry with the clips in. Should I retwist, or rock with it for a month.
Same question i have
what did you end up doing
@@ateeras_lens I washed and retwisted after a month. They all came out after the wash, I thought I was doing something wrong. So I when to a salon. I probably won't try again myself till they are locked up.
Just wrap the frizzy hair around the dread and it will have a cleaner look.
I know this is an old video and you probably mention this but how many dreadlocks do you have
a diet for locks really like fr real???????
What’s the song at the end??
what about shedding, i have starter locks and it was left over hair in the sink
Name of the song at the end?
Just started my locs almost a week in and I got a big question.... I see a lot of ppl start they locs off to the back jus like u did ... is that the suggested way to start? Cus I didn’t start mines like that should I ? Please let me know 😩
Nah. How the locs lay after you retwist is all dependent on how you get em started family! Nothing to worry about. At the end of the day as long as your hair is sectioned off how you want, and you maintain that every now and then you should be just fine!
How to wash when only 3 months in ?
If you wanna minimize the Locs that come out you can use a durag and wash with the durag on! I’d recommend a tea tree shampoo to help with itching! I have a video on this as well!
TP locks
What if the Durag on don’t do the job is it another method ?
Next Football Legends I started washing about 2 weeks in and so far it’s only sped up the process🤷♂️
Should I let my locs air dry after the first time I wash them?
You definitely can, I’d just ensure you dry it off as much as you can with a microfiber towel so you’re not creating an environment for mildew. Are you retwisting it right after you wash?
TP locks thanks so much!!! and yes this will be my first wash and retwist
Cap he got good healthy locs, don't know why you saying your locs not good playa
They definitely were good! Just was learning through it 😅
