Fred Berry came to my highschool my senior year in 1995/96. At that point he was a minister. He spoke a positive message but since it was a public school he couldn't talk about the religious aspect of his message but was still a great motivational speech.

I met Fred "Rerun" Berry in Walmart in Albany back in 2000. He was a really nice man. I got an Autograph from him. I told him that my family and I never missed an episode. Of What's Happening and What's Happening Now. I really glad I met him before his passing. CONTINUE TO RIP😢 RERUN.

@@joebudi5136 Fred didn't do anything to us, except become a part of some great memories. Hopefully he got things right with God before he passed. Hollyweird is known for corrupting people lives. Most can't handle the fame not live up to the image projected upon them.

I am James F Jr... First of all one of the comments . This person said, that Fred Berry... Thought he was worth more than he was. When you are on the Entertainment system industry or any field of employment. You have to dictate your worth. Do you think Denzel got where he is by lacking Self Worth. That is a Bold comment. I commend him for fighting for what he believed. The other claims by his wife or wives. His Abusive nature was uncalled for. However, it wasn't violence directed towards the Wives. He was Bitter with himself . He felt he should have been more than he was. I get that... I walked in similar shoes 👟. People don't just blurt out things to be heard. Think about a Situation, listen and observe, there are clues to how a person is feeling and Living in their actions... That is all I have to say. .God Bless You All.

He was the most famous star on the show even to this day my uncle calls me rerun and I live in Alabama and I'm white... That's how famous the dude was he also made a pair of underwear that never got patented but it kept your balls separated it was a genius idea that still hasn't taken off... I think I'm going to do it and call him the reruns... He was worth his weight in gold but they didn't pay him correctly.

These shows with predominant African American cast members during the 70s,80s were your typical stereotype shows written by, you probably guessed it JEWISH writers, they All became the Wealthiest by using African Americans, usually for a brief moment in short lived T.V. shows, The same applied during the 60s, when African Americans in music were abundant, from Aretha, the Drifters, the Shirelles, the Crystals and so many more, these artists earned peanuts compared to the songwriters of some of the Greatest Hits of that 1960s ERA.

Here's the thing: Fred was the breakout character in that show. When you think What's happening, the first character you think of is Rerun.
If you look at a show like Jersey Shore today which is garbage, the breakout character is Snooki. As talentless and useless as she is, she spoke up and got a raise as well as the cast also. So as far as I'm concerned, Fred had every right to speak up.

I never really gave much thought about the cast being black . To me the show was just about some likable fun loving kids . Thats a good thing because as a little white kid I was used to seeing tough street people being played by black actors . I might have had an unfair opinion of black people had that been my only experience with black people . When I was little there was not a lot of commingling of black and white children . This show was a bright spot .
