Well guys. You could not have painted a better picture. An American vlogger in Duma pointed out to me on Rizal Blvd. a Filipina he had conversations with. This woman was bold enough to tell him that she was scamming some 5 or 6 foreigners. Talk about bold!!
When I met my wonderful Filipina online I was cautious and hit her with hard questions. I know...not very romantic. But she was so patient and understanding. She is an absolute gem...a diamond. Just like Wilma...ummm...Brownie points anyone!? Lol. ❤ Love it guys.

Glad to hear your success story. It's hard for Wilma and I to hear about the bad ones because we know how hard it is to save money for retirement. So sad. Thanks for commenting and watching our videos.

Hi Wilma and Greg. Well, I will tell you my LDR story. I did meet her online. We always chat with messages and videos almost every other day. I am shocked that she doesn't ask for money even after I tested her by offering it to her. She has asked for small amounts like 1K pesos, and so far, the most I have offered to her is 5K pesos for her birthday and to take a little shopping spree from her nursing school. I have definitely seen women from different countries scam foreigners out of thousands of dollars. I definitely feel that my Filipina is real and honest with me as I am planning another visit for her graduation in late July 2024. This video is really helpful to foreigners who are naive to how LDR works. I definitely agree with the both of you to take things slowly and actually I recommend that the foreigner try to put things in their names like I did, so I really don't have to ask her to do things for me and I hired a lawyer from the philippines to assist me with everything. This all boils down to you. You have to do your homework and research before you make a big commitment to retiring to a foreign country. Keep the great videos coming. Maybe see you guys in the near future. Take care and God blessings to the both of you.

Great story guys, it is unfortunate that their are folks like this. Even more unfortunate is that this will lable all great Filipinos out there and they are the majority! My wife and I bought our property in Dauin with no problems, I would like to think that it was because we did our due-diligence. We will start to build in about 6 months. We love your videos and look forward to watching more of them as we get closer to our build date. Cheers!

I don't see anyone saying he deserves what he got. It's should be common sense not to give that much money to anyone you never physically meet. So may guys do that. With today's education and stories like this floating on the internet, people should understand.
It's sad it happened, but if he could afford 50k, he could have afforded a plane ticket to verify her existence sometime during this process to ensure she was a legitimate person.

yup...and there are lots of 'fools' out there. Being too 'nice' and not having learned anything in life, especially when you are 'older', it's a disaster waiting to happen. Lonely/weak people will do stupid things. If you want to give your life savings away because someone is making you feel good for that moment in time, OK, but do not go crying later about it. We all make mistakes, but many repeat them over and over. The first time is a mistake, when you keep repeating it, it's a choice.

@@buildingthephilippines yes it is sad to hear, but as we grow older, we suppose to get wiser. If this happened many many years ago, I can understand, many youtubers used to paint a paradise and had ;fooled' many older men into believing in fairy tales without thinking....it is sad.

Another interesting video from Wilma and Greg. Sharing this is a good learning experience for foreigners who want to have a relationship with Filipinas mostly young women. I am not generalizing that Filipinas are bad and opportunists. There are many also who have a stable relationship with foreigners and happy with their marriage. We have read news, heard on tv that foreigners were scammed by Filipinas. Sad to hear these kind of stories because I am also a Filipina. Learning lesson to foreigners, be careful and vigilant in having this relationship with Filipinas who are very young. It is a pity for foreigners being scammed. Should I say these men can also be blamed because they are sending money for these women and they do not know them that much yet? Hope in your in one of your coming videos you also give your thoughts/ views on which is good to marry in a civil ceremony or church wedding?

Yep a fool with money. This situation was easily avoidable. Avoid areas with large foreigner population, less scammers and way cheaper. Do actual due diligence, go to Philippines do some exploring, meet a wife, put time in, marry her, know her family and the people in the area

This reminds me of the old saying "let the buyer beware.” Buys at your own risk, do your research and ask questions. I also believe that you should never give away more money than you are OK with not getting back. My heart goes out to the foreigner. Take care Greg and Wilma.

Wilma , Greg, thank you guys for your videos . I followed you from the beginning day one, and it's nice to see the final build. congrats guys on your home happy for you you are a lovely couple. I'm Mike from Montreal , Canada married to a Filipina also now for 10 years . We bought a lot in Bataan since my wife is from Pampanga , nice view there too similar to your lot gently sloppy. We're moving next year where we will retire in Philippines. Greg how long and wide is your lot ? I'm just trying to get a perspective since my lot is similar and still trying to figure if I should build 1 or 2 story house. Thank you and god bless. Balikbayan Vlogs.

Online dating is really like a box of chocolates...you cannot truly know what you will discover until you open the lid and start indulging in its contents. By indulge I mean getting to know each other face to face over an extended period of time. And allowing time to determine if you two are in fact a great fit...as well as what areas of the relationship that is a cause for concern or perhaps require more understanding. Do you make a great team financially speaking? Are you both willing to establish a savings plan as a team and motivate each other to achieve sustainability. How do both of you react to disagreements? How clear cut are each of your individual roles as man and woman? How much laugher is there in your relationship? etc. etc. etc.

Recycled story since time immemorial-hence the comment-‘a fool and his money is soon parted’. Here, in the states, Thailand, and Philipines reputation of sex easily had, and if not its being a control freak. American women aggresive, Asian women passive, we have no use for crazies like that so they find another race who will accept their bullshit. I even wondered about you two as well but you stated you met in the states got married there, eased my mind. Im checking out many options and ways and watching your experience is eye opening and informative. Anytime Wilma wants to cook and teach us a dish im even more there watching!!! At any point to me i guess its true what mama said any transaction with money be protective and use the brains god gave you! I would not give anyone money for any reason i dont know-thats really STUPID! You’re not ‘too trusting and giving-youre a fool! As i see it a MALE will do anything to dip his stick, a MAN will have some wisdom. 🙏🏻🤔
