A discussion on if you are compatible to live in the Philippines. Kubo shopping starts tomorrow. @buildingthephilippines #doberman #retirement #solar
Wounderfull property with a stunning view !!! You both can be verry proud how you bring things together !!! Happy for both of you !!! Regards, Erwin Zado
This is entirely the kind of life that my wife and myself are looking forward to in the near future. We leave Australia in December and will settle in Panablawan, near to Siaton. Very much looking forward to meeting you and Wilma in January if we can catch up. Best wishes for Christmas.
Great updates. Making new friends, once I get moved, next June, is something I look forward to. 👍 We’ll be shopping for our “forever home” after I get there, permanently, and I’ve admired you and Wilma’s house, since the construction was almost finished. I’ll need to go back to your earliest videos and try to figure out who was your contractor. But that style of home, and your lot size suits me! I hope to meet you and Wilma in the future, if I can convince my Wife to leave central Luzon for a more peaceful (and beautiful!) place to live
Hi Guys, Well, it's been 12 years we've been together. Unlike most bloggers, we have 2 children, 7 and 10. I bought a townhouse in Cebu for my wife 8 years ago, but I'm drawn to the provincial life. I'm still looking for land, but I'm waiting on selling some property back in Canada. I'm looking at Leyte, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Malapasqua. Well, the search continues.
So glad to see a new video, and the subject is just how I feel, in the way I want to be like, when I make my trek to the Philippines, as my thoughts and way of life then I will be. When you get videos from friends who go back to the states, and video the things you can’t get, makes you laugh, as you are still happy, and even though you miss it, you can live without it. Best wishes to you both of you and your family. I love the garden that Wilma has done, and like every video you show it. So glad the solar is working so well for you. Prince is growing fast, and he won’t be fully grown until he is 2 years old. The more you work with him in his training, the better he will respond to your commands, and not cause the trouble in the yard and such. Football season is getting to the point where we know what teams are going to be headed to the postseason.😊
Thanks Steve. Being part of the community is nice. We enjoy meeting new people. Keeping up on chores, being social, having projects and simply relaxing someday is our plan. Playoff teams is definitely starting to materialize. Chiefs vs Philly again?
Hello Wilma & Greg. Great to hear you are making the time to build positive friendships there. Just an idea, as far as having to vacuum the pool daily, would a pool cover help? My main hobby over in southern Shikoku, Japan has been growing fruit and vegetables. I’ve grown everything. Many vegetables will go completely dormant during the very hot summer here, except perhaps sweet potatoes, okra and eggplant (so I’m not surprised your tomato plants didn’t produce much fruit. Last summer, we had many weeks where the temperature was 110F in the shade! Humidity is always very high and what is surprising is the temperature doesn’t drop at night here.
We need to learn what grows and what doesn't. We will figure it out eventually. No pool covers here. I checked on shipping from Amazon and it was $149, just for shipping.
@@buildingthephilippines Yah, it took me a good 3 years to learn the timing of growing vegetables here in Japan’s 4-season, subtropical climate. The Philippines 2-season, tropical climate surely will present it’s own challenges. I’d be very surprised if many of the cool-loving fall and winter potatoes, along with garlic, broccoli, cauliflower, daikon radish, spinach, onions, green peas and others would do well in the heat. I would never even attempt to grow any of these in the summer here. I’d also have to learn what grows well in the tropical climate. My plan would be to focus on growing mostly native, tropical fruit. Expensive shipping on a pool cover!
I look forward to following along on your Kubo-hunting journey! The big benefit of your plan to find a pre-built Kubo that you like is being able to see and completely check out the Kubo before making the purchase. Since I’ve done a fair amount of construction with bamboo, I’m very interested to see the designs created by various builders there. Enjoy the shopping experience to get the best Kubo for you!
A couple questions for you too what do you feed Prince I make my dogs own food here in the states and I’m heading over to the Philippines here this next Sunday probably for five months then I’m gonna come back sell my house and permanently move over there I’ll be bringing my dogs they’re too small dogs so I just wondered if the dog food there is any good or do you make food for prince. Also the seeds you get for your vegetable garden do you get them there or will seeds from here in the states work, anyways just really enjoy your videos hope someday to be able to meet you and your lovely wife and prince and keep the videos coming I enjoy them immensely
We use top breed puppy. There's several types here, so should be able to find one that works for you. Travel safe and see as many islands as you can. Each is a bit different. Look us up if in the area.
how is the doggie doing as far as separation anxiety when you guys go out ? that is the biggest problem i would be worried about if we had a dog other than barking.. i have little experience with a dog of my own and will want to get one when we live there someday ..
@@buildingthephilippines that's good, she's had a rough life, you guys are her angels. They should have a plebiscite, a vote on neutering and spaying stray dogs. Even if its just your area.
LOL t's not concern for you so much as it is Wilma @@buildingthephilippines It's a lot of money to spend with no practical advantage if it turns out she hates the climb and extra effort we aren't getting younger
My biggest bone of contention is the financial racism. If we charged Filipinos different prices in the states they’d be up in arms and say it is wrong. Also if we didn’t allow a Filipino spouse to truly own their investment in land and a home.
Different rules and culture definitely true here in this example. The odd thing is some foreigners complain and think I should pay more than a native Filipino. Like I should pay extra just because it's the right thing to do. Do they do that in their own country. This practice will never change in my opinion. Wilma and I will simply walk when we see it. Simple as that. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks Erwin appreciate the comment.
I liked that Sir Prince feels at home and snores with no care in the world.
Lol, he's a great addition to the family. Thanks for watching.
👍✅🙀✅👍
Thanks
As always, amazing. We look forward to meeting you guys this summer and the videos of the kubo places with your selection.
Thanks guys, look us up once in the area.
LOL Wilma’s garden is looking great. But that rock wall 😮sad😅. Ya need to plant those long beans those are yummy.
Thanks, I think she just planted some long beans. We will see.

I’ve found carrots hard to grow in Georgia during the summer. Did really good planting in the fall and harvesting in the spring.
Hot really all year round here. This is considered the cooler months, but it never feels like it to me.

Hi Wilma. Please hurry a yes to the wheels, lift ,and tires. I need a review on the shop. I need my suspension looked at. 🤣

He says thank you. Cleanest ears in Dauin.

FYI carrots 🥕 are a winter crop here don’t do well in hot temperatures.
Oh boy, hopefully there Filipino carrots.

Gee I am at 242 just woke up!
Darn that was fast, 6:04pm here in the Philippines. 4 minutes uploaded. Fast

Hi Wilma how does it goes with your Calamanci trees :)
They are growing nicely. No fruit yet. Thanks for asking.
You still see Sandy around
Yes, everyday we see and talk to her.

@iamwesterncanadian570 we feed her everyday. She is actually a pretty fat dog now. Soooo skinny when we first seen her.
@@buildingthephilippines your kind people
Consider how much more of a PITA it might become to get in and out of your truck with the lift before you do it!

This is the kind of negative people that you don't want to hang out with.......toxic.
Definitely need to choose your friends wisely.
Where’s Sandy?
She is still here. Happy as can be.
No , Mark and dirty paul were gay before they arrived
Hey, everyone needs a hobby.
Invite some single dudes too. Don't just make it all about couples. Maybe some of the single guys would like to socialize with your group too!
Yes, there's usually a few single guys that are part of the group as well. Not many though.
