Before pressing play on this, I had this knee-jerk feeling of protectiveness for Jenn’s “what I eat” videos because I love them so much and feel that she has such a healthy relationship with food. I’m relieved and delighted you agree!
Jenn’s content is so refreshing. She eats realistically and reminds me to step out of my comfort zone with food. Plus she and her husband makes everything looks delicious. 😂
Hey Abbey I'm 14 and watching your videos have helped me so much. My mom just died and I've struggled with an ED for a long time. The way you talk about food helps me a lot and makes me feel less guilty/ just view it in a different way. You don't even know me so this is a little weird but your presence is very calming. Sorry I'm rambling I juat wanted to let you know that your content means so much to me. Thank you for making it
I don’t know what you’re struggling with, but I used to suffer from an ED for years as a teen and promise, it gets better when you confront your fears and guilts :) you can’t let your life be controlled by something in your head, please take care of yourself. I also recommend Ro and her recovery journey here on UA-cam. She’s all in and super inspiring to always try your best.
M.M, I'm so sorry for your loss of your mom. My heart hurts for you. May you have the sweetest dreams about your mom that will help you feel a little bit of happiness during this awful time grieving your mom. **hugs and support**
As a korean i always could generally relate to her food vlogs ! Most of them are accessible, common Korean foods and i feel like she’s more relatable than other youtubers bc of that 🥰 and her portions are also pretty normal to generous.
So proud of Jenn that she explained that she had trapped into restrictive, diet culture but she then overcome it and learned to nourish her body with beautiful food🥰🥰
Jenn is the one who taught me "that just because it's healthy, you don't have to force yourself to eat it" hence why I look for other alternatives with the same benefit and it's because of her, I learned to listen to my body when I'm full.
I love Jen and her what I eat in a day/week videos. They always inspire me to eat more throughout the day and also eat whatever leftovers I have in my house. She seems like she has a great relationship with food, eats what and when she wants while still seeming to eat very healthy (intuitive eating?) and really enjoys her meals.
Yes! Jen said she read a lot of books about mindful eating and binge eating. I love Jen because she is always finding ways to improve herself in all aspects. And she always finds the best ways to take care of herself. 🙂
I get nervous about what I eat sometimes, and hearing Abbey cheer Jenn on makes me feel so much better. I’m also Korean, and Jenn’s food feels very familiar, although not as frequently represented as mainstream/insta “healthy”. Feeling very inspired and comforted after watching this video! Jenn is an inspiration for sure :D
Jenn has been one of the biggest reasons I started eating more mindfully, which has totally helped my eating habits improve! I’m less restrictive and enjoy myself more because she looks so genuinely happy when she eats something she enjoys and it makes me want to feel that same!
Abbey, you absolutely nailed this video!!! Jenn is extremely in touch with her hunger cues and follows intuitive eating so well!! I also got introduced to Korean ingredients and cuisine through watching her, and it’s encouraged me to find well balanced and healthy recipes in many different cultures and cuisines 😋 I loved this video!
This is such a coincidence, I recently binge watched all of Jenn's videos! Even though I'm vegan so the recipes require a lot of adjustments, but she's just so sweet
I appreciate how active Abbey is in the comments The way this channel doesn't just give us info about nutrition but also about consciousness when it comes to body image Really lovely
She reminds me of Marshall from how I met your mother. The way he would describe food was always enjoyable. The way he would talk about a specific burger was the best .

I just want to tell you on the off chance you will see this, that your attitude towards food, diet and eating in general is really refreshing and honestly therapeutic! I’m really grateful for your channel and wish you all the best/success thank you so much for your education advice.
This is the first time I have discovered your channel through youtube's algorithm due to the fact that I subscribe to Jenn. When I saw the suggestion I thought this was a roast video and thought "Oh hell naw. I will not let anyone hate on my girl Jenn." As it turns out, this has been the best and most encouraging video I have watched about relationships with food. I struggle with body image and I was always trying to find a good reason to treat myself i.e. long 10 hour day at work or I had a migraine, but your comments in this video has changed my views on things and I feel very encouraged. Thank you so much for your hard work! Hitting that subscribe button!
I love Jenn, she got me into Korean food and I love and have been inspired by her healthy relationship with food! I have had the chicken lettuce wraps, some of her soups and such. Her recipes are so tasty and make me feel great.
I have never clicked so fast on a video in my life!! I was among the people who suggested Jenn Im's channel for an Abbey Sharp review and I am sooo happy to watch it!! She is such a breath of fresh air compared to other what I eat in a day videos and we could use more of her attitude towards food ;)
im happy that korean food is getting so popular! it can be super super healthy and easy to make quick balanced meals. i just started making my own kimchi and it's so fun to ferment a variety of vegetables (cucumber, eggplant, carrot, bean sprout)
I always cringe a bit when she eats some gimmicky health foods but overall I love that Jenn values meal times and eating and it’s so refreshing to see her be happy to cook and eat !
I feel like Jenn tries certain foods out of genuine curiosity and is pretty honest about liking it or not. For example she did a video trying out this fancy food subscription and straight up said when she wasnt crazy about something.
@@rainlovesllamas17 I definitely remember that video. I think the company was Sakura? I could be wrong but it was like $500 a week for pretty boring food that Jenn was honest about.
Jenn's videos just make me feel super relaxed and chill, I love to cook and eat, and often crave some good healthy food inspiration. She makes it feel effortless and enjoyable and seems so genuine about her relationship with food. Love her.
i love love love watching Jenn's what i eat in a day/week, seems like no pressure, and she just likes her food very much that's so refreshing to watch.
When I tell you I was so nervous to watch this video! I've been watching Jenn for years but her videos from the past year esp the What I Eat in a Day have really lifted my spirits. I can't watch them sometimes because I literally get so hungry! She's inspired me to make more foods that I actually enjoy.
I love Jenn’s what i eat in a days. She inspired me to make a lot of Korean food in my go to meals. And like you said she generally talks of her meals as how tasty they are or textures etc.
Abby is amazing !!! She has changed the way im eating now , i don't limit any food anymore bu rather enjoy a healthy balance and her recepies are so easy and creative !!! And have to say im in love with that jumper ❤
Hey Abbey! I'm glad you reviewed Jenn. I've been watching Jenn for maybe 4 years now and I always love watching her food videos because she eats so differently from me, and the way she films it is so pretty.
Jenn has always been one of my favorite youtubers and the way she describes everything is so satisfying! I hope that she sees this video because I’m sure she would love to hear what you have to say!
I went and spent money on a juicer (I’m not crazy enough to buy a super expensive one). Once I realized how much fruit and vegetables it takes to make one cup of juice, I put that juicer in the back of a cabinet. Do not do it lol.
This was one of the most delicious “what I eat..” videos I’ve seen you review on this channel. I want to go eat with this gal now!! But I hear her on the “vacation binge guilt”. That’s something so hard to contend with.
Thank you for your videos! You've helped me to recover from my disordered eating so much. Watching your content has allowed me to have a much more healthy relationship with food, looking at it for its nutrition rather than it's calories. I'm so grateful. This was great to watch as usual! Thank you again!
I was looking forward to this video. Jen is one of my favourite youtubers to watch. Her videos are so fun and interesting and relatable. She genuinely enjoys all her meals and has made me try out more different recipes. I have tried several of the recipes in her videos and they were delicious!
It is SOOO nice to see someone who is not supportive of diet culture. I love seeing people actually enjoy their food vs eat it bc they’re ‘supposed’ to.
I don't know how I missed this video considering I've been watching you without missing a video forever... but I LOVE JENN IM! ❤️ She recently posted a new WIEIAD and I'm obsessed.... if you ever wanted to do an updated video, I'm not gonna stop you. 🤭
When I first saw this video I was like “am I about to have to go off in the comment section for the first time in my life?” Then I was like nah, give it a chance... it’s actually pretty praiseworthy! Thank you for not being rudely critical, and for placing your professionalism in a POSITIVE way! Loved your video!! I love you Jenn🤍🤍🤍
I honestly only take Jenn's ''what i eat in a day'' serious. The way she prepares everything and how she reacts, it just seems so sincere. She truly is a inspiration!
I loved your inputs and comments, i've never ever thought about food as you suggest in this video, it makes totally sense for me. Thanks a lot, i will absolutely get rid of my concept of "cheat meal" or "clean food". I use those concepts a lot and never thought about how bad is for me and my public to see them like that.
You should see her and her husband eat together. They faces and sounds they make, you can tell the truly love, appreciate, and are thankful for all of their meals. It’s so inspiring
Hi Abbey! If you are wanting a korean what I eat in a day inspired video, I highly suggest Ondo on youtube! She is one of my favorite youtubers. Although she doesn’t speak english, she makes her own subtitles and she has a WONDERFUL and creative relationship with food. Much love from the US❤️
I'm going to try her idea of slicing an omelet really fine and putting it into my soup . 1600 or 1700 calories wouldn't fill me up if that's an accurate estimate but she looks radiant and I love her style !
Some people on Reddit recently argued with me when I stated that no reputable health organisation considers 1500 cals a day to be a maintenance amount. It's only a maintenance amount if you have undiagnosed hormonal issues, are very petite, or are immobile!
@@lynncrf She's 5 feet tall. What do you expect? I'm 5 feet as well and 1500 IS considered maintenance for this height. I ate that for years while doing vigorous activity, and felt fantastic. My weight has always been perfectly healthy. I don't think "normal" sized people realize how many fewer calories petite people consume in a day.
@@koul3709 I wasn't talking about Jen. I was referring to the general guidelines for people who are not petite. Hence why I said that 2000 cals was not maintenance if one is very petite, which someone who is only 5 feet is. And I put the petite thing in because my mother and sister were petite and definitely need less calories than me. Also, IME, the people who eat the least amounts of food are always those who are small in height.
I loooove Jenn!! She always Makes healthy eating easy! I also love how she embraces her Korean culture. It makes me want to make more Italian food. Yummm
I think you’re in my head. Now every time I have a meal I think is this satiating? Does it include protein, carbs, and healthy fats. Now I’m doing the same thing to my daughter’s meals. Clueless about snacks for her. She’s always so picky.
i came here thinking you will criticize her but i was surprised and satisfied to hear you saying all those good things about how balanced her diet is and the fact that she actually loves and enjoys eating those meals ! your observation (including the remark about intuitive eating) was just great ! i loved your reaction Abbey =)
I remember watching Jenn’s old videos when I was in my early teens maybe 8-10 years ago where she was talking about eating 800 calories a day for weight loss. Glad to see how far she’s come.
i’m a new viewer to your channel and clicked on this video because i’ve been watching jenn for almost 10 years now and i was almost anticipating you tearing her to shreds so i was curious! but i am so pleasantly surprised and proud of how much of a jenn fan you’ve become (like all of us!) she’s been my biggest youtube role model since high school and i am 25 now. i cant think of a better internet person to look up to, and i wish more young people like me could discover her channel and learn from her. thank you for such a kind and respectful analysis, i learned a lot!
you’ve also brought to light some ways i put down my own eating habits: thinking of things as “clean” or “dirty,” or thinking that i “deserve” foods or certain meals. i will definitely be more mindful of how i think about food after this video!
Love this video so much. I would love to hear more videos where you show how to go from a typical western diet and work towards a more balanced diet. I like seeing what these influencers eat and what you think but would also be great to see a more accessible video which relates to most people who eat processed foods/refined sugars etc! 😊
Fantastic vid dearest Abbey! You’ve been a must watch for me since I found your channel! I love your nonchalant easy attitude towards food, feels much healthier than many influencers :) You’ve inspired me to continue on with my family’s intuitive eating rather than follow fad diets. I love your sharing of your own struggles too, with life as a busy entrepreneur and mom of two in Covid times. Keep it up and feed yourself something yummy every day beautiful mama! 💖💕🌹👑👸🏼💯
Hey Abbey! I was wondering if you could do a video on the recent huge TikTok trend of chlorophyll water? I work in a health store and the amount of people I've had asking me about it in one day in crazy! It'd be great to hear your educational perspective about how effective the health claims are :) Thanks, another great vid btw!
I would really love to see you talking about Eric the electric and your point of view as a nutritionist. Is it really posible to eat that amount of food and what could happen to your body if you do this really often from a scientific point of view? There are some people who are saying his channel is a lie and that he probably doesnt eat all of that food, what do you think?
I was going in with an abundance of caution at first because of the title and because I friggen LOVE Jenn Im and am so inspired by her that I didn't want my construct of her to be skewed by someone who I also like and admire (aka you!). But, I watched and am so thrilled that my constructs were not tampered with (lol!).
Tbh, I can't really relate to the way she is eating or get inspired by it cus it's not really my taste, but her excitment for food is just so soothing in a way, I just keep watching her videos 😂😂

Jenn is so much fun to watch. your video too Abbey, so fun and so informative. And also, that sweater look so comfortable af 💚
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
@@AbbeysKitchen im not just enjoy it, I love it 💙
You should see her and her husband eat together. They faces and sounds they make, you can tell the truly love, appreciate, and are thankful for all of their meals. It’s so inspiring
I suggested Jenn’s What I Eat in a Days to you! So glad you like her channel!
Loved it!
Hi Abbey! If you are wanting a korean what I eat in a day inspired video, I highly suggest Ondo on youtube! She is one of my favorite youtubers. Although she doesn’t speak english, she makes her own subtitles and she has a WONDERFUL and creative relationship with food. Much love from the US❤️
I second Ondo!!!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll have a look
This was really inspiring & the recipes also seem so approachable!!!
@@lynncrf Something tells me that she probably eats more than that . Her approach is too relaxed and she looks very healthy and bursting with life
@@lynncrf She's 5 feet tall.
@@koul3709 Really good point . I didn't know her height .
Yummm
I’m so glad she seems to love Jenn just as much as the rest of us do!
I’m a huge Jenn fan! So glad you got to do one of hers! Much more positive than the usual lol
Agreed!
I think you’re in my head. Now every time I have a meal I think is this satiating? Does it include protein, carbs, and healthy fats. Now I’m doing the same thing to my daughter’s meals. Clueless about snacks for her. She’s always so picky.
I'm so glad that's helpful for you!
I love reading all of the positive comments! I’ve always admired Jenn!
😊❤️
I've never been so early and I'm so happy that I'm here!!
😊❤️
i came here thinking you will criticize her but i was surprised and satisfied to hear you saying all those good things about how balanced her diet is and the fact that she actually loves and enjoys eating those meals ! your observation (including the remark about intuitive eating) was just great ! i loved your reaction Abbey =)
This was such a refreshing video.
So glad!
Perfect timing! My go to videos while I workout! Thanks Abbey
I hope you enjoy this one!
@@AbbeysKitchen It was very informative as always 👏
When I saw her clip off dancing out of happiness for her cake only made me love her more
Same!
I was waiting !! Love from Amsterdam 🌹
❤️❤️
I remember watching Jenn’s old videos when I was in my early teens maybe 8-10 years ago where she was talking about eating 800 calories a day for weight loss. Glad to see how far she’s come.
So glad to see she's doing better
i’m a new viewer to your channel and clicked on this video because i’ve been watching jenn for almost 10 years now and i was almost anticipating you tearing her to shreds so i was curious! but i am so pleasantly surprised and proud of how much of a jenn fan you’ve become (like all of us!) she’s been my biggest youtube role model since high school and i am 25 now. i cant think of a better internet person to look up to, and i wish more young people like me could discover her channel and learn from her. thank you for such a kind and respectful analysis, i learned a lot!
you’ve also brought to light some ways i put down my own eating habits: thinking of things as “clean” or “dirty,” or thinking that i “deserve” foods or certain meals. i will definitely be more mindful of how i think about food after this video!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the review!
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSSS
I was waiting for this one!!
I hope you enjoyed it!
@@AbbeysKitchen Loved it (as usual) 😊
Loved the positive vibes on the video! love Jenn and love to learn from Abbey!
😊❤️
Love this video so much. I would love to hear more videos where you show how to go from a typical western diet and work towards a more balanced diet. I like seeing what these influencers eat and what you think but would also be great to see a more accessible video which relates to most people who eat processed foods/refined sugars etc! 😊
I will put this on the list to do!
Genuinely love your videos❤️ so informational and no BS!
Thank you! So glad 😊
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy the videos 😊❤️
This video reminds me why I watch Jenn’s videos. I love her her energy, it is so contagious 🥺♥️
I love her and especially love when she makes traditional korean food. It always looks SO yumy!
Agreed!
I’ve met Jenn and she’s super lovely in person, so is Ben 🥰
Hey Abbey! I was wondering if you could do a video on the recent huge TikTok trend of chlorophyll water? I work in a health store and the amount of people I've had asking me about it in one day in crazy! It'd be great to hear your educational perspective about how effective the health claims are :) Thanks, another great vid btw!
Great breakdown! I struggle so much with intuitive eating, but Jenn makes it seem like something that comes second nature. I'll work on it!
Agreed! I have an entire intuitive eating playlist that you might find helpful as well: ua-cam.com/video/cf7JbfqiLic/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AbbeySharp
There are so many cuts on his videos even when he speeds Up the video is obvious
On the list!
I liked her a lot too!
Tbh, I can't really relate to the way she is eating or get inspired by it cus it's not really my taste, but her excitment for food is just so soothing in a way, I just keep watching her videos 😂😂
I totally get that!
