I don't understand your advise at 6:28. "If your body guides you to eat 4 times the recommended serving size - go for it". For someone who has been overweight or obese their entire life, their "normal" is consistent overeating, and trusting your own appetite wont work. Same for chronic undereaters with the "half a serving" remark.
Agreed. Intuitive eating is definitely not a fix for people with out-of-whack hunger and fullness cues, or anyone with binge/restriction eating disorders. Intuitive eating should be the goal after fixing a psychological relationship with food and being able to not equate it with emotions or self soothing. It is absolutely not a way to fix your relationship with food like this channel likes to suggest
Although I understand your comments on variety being better I do think you might be missing the fact she lives alone. As someone who lives alone I understand eating the exact same thing for a few days in a row because it is next to impossible to cook one serving of curry or anything for that matter, plus if I buy something like lettuce you really have to eat it everyday so it doesn't go bad. I hope someday you can do a video on adding variety but not contributing to food waste.
Absolutely. I'm the same, I live alone and meal prep by cooking up 2-3 meals and then eating them throughout the week. I do try and pick options that are high in veges etc, but still, limited variety
That’s exactly what I’ve ran into now that I cook for 1. I’ll mix up the meals every week or so, but within that week I’m pretty much eating the same thing every day so it doesn’t go bad.
OMG THE COKE MOUTH THING!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY ME WITH THE WEIRD SUGAR COAT! I am not sure I like diet coke either... Right now I'm obsessed with iced pomegranate green tea. THE BEST!
Hey abbey! At some point can you do a conversation about diabetes and food and especially how diet foods/sodas should be viewed in the light of diabetes?
I always love hearing other people love some soup! When in doubt, when I can’t decide, when I’m not feeling well, when I’m down in the dumps…. Soup (often wonton or eggdrop)!
Could you review The Anna Edit’s WIEIAD? She sometimes filters them through her Vlogs, but she seems to have a very natural and intuitive way of eating :)
I love your suggestions, especially the ice cream! As a behavioral health clinician, as well as a woman post menopause, these are helpful and real, thank you!
I am 100% on the variety train. To eat healthier I just make sauces and put them in the fridge so when I open up I get inspired by the sauces. Keeps everything new.
I'd love you review of Stephanie Buttermore's recent videos now she's eating intuitively, post all-in. Also I would love to see more "normal" eaters like Dianna Malloy. 💕
I like how she said “there’s a time and place for the low sugar candy and the normal candy” and how she said “One is not good and the other is not bad” Soooo true we love that!
Im from Barcelona, so what can I say? My second favorite, is Venezia, the food is like being in heaven. Roma its also cool, very different. All Italy is awesome. In Spain, any place in Andalusia is good, or Euskadi, Galicia or Asturias 💓💓
What you say about serving sizes is so spot on. I work in food testing, including testing for what goes on the nutritional panel, and it is completely arbitrary what the company decides to put as a serving size. Often it has nothing to do with nutrition and more to do with what looks best for the product - ie, a lot of products want round numbers like '100 cals' or '20g protein' '25%RDI Iron Per serving!' As selling points, and will manipulate the serving size to get it.
Would love to see a video about how to eat healthy as a vegan! I'm not sure if I'm calculating my fat, carbs, and proetin right. Absolutely grateful to watch you❤
I do choose 'coke zero' over regular, however not to allow myself to eat more, but rather to not add huge amounts of pure sugar when it can be avoided. A single can of coke has 40 grams added sugar, and i drink several cans of soda a day. What's better, drinking something like 120 grams of sugar a day, or a bit of aspartame?

As I Spaniard I must agree we are a really good country to have food in! And I agree with you, the Basque Country is the best place to eat, but honestly, really good and autochthonal food can be found in every city
This is very refreshing to hear from Lucy! When I lived in LA I saw her at a popular breakfast joint with her then boyfriend and when he went to pay the check she quickly took a few bites of her whole grain toast! I'll never forget that! It was years ago so I'm happy for her that she seems to now have a healthy relationship with food :)
I'm glad to see she is doing better!
I love how she switches between meaty and vegan dishes without making a big deal out of it. She doesn't call it a cheat, doesn't make the vegan option the healthiest ever in her story,... Really inspiring to hear someone talk about it.
I like that too!
If anyone here is perfectionist like me, notices the mug matches her T-shirt
Love you and your videos 🥰🥰
True! Thank you 😊
Lucy is the personification of good vibes lol
I just had fish and chips with a beer 🍟🍺🐟🙏
😊❤️
This was one of my favs! Lucy seems so sweet and her diet seems more normal than most celebs 😂
Lucy is such a doll! Loved her in Pretty Little Liars.
😊❤️
me too. 💘👙😍😅😩
@@daisypulling hello to you and my comment two years later! hah, maybe I'll have to re-watch PLL soon :)
Thanks for pointing this out to me. That's a great idea, I'll put it on the list to discuss this topic in a video
THE BEST!
Totally!
Hey abbey! At some point can you do a conversation about diabetes and food and especially how diet foods/sodas should be viewed in the light of diabetes?
Yup this is on the list to discuss!
Yes please!!
My diet is very restrictive but because I need it to be health wise
Love how Lucy enjoy a variety of foods and doesn't fall into a strict diet plan. Thankful to Abbey for a no-swearing video!!
I personally prefer the longer videos, but whatever is fine as long as I get to watch Abbey ❤️
Thanks for the feedback!
So im just a college kid who hasnt travelled too many places but I did go to Rome when I was younger and the food there was amazing
Yum!
YES!! Also love San Sebastián! I totally agree on the feeling soda makes your mouth feel.
For sure!
Florence, Italy is my favorite food city. Pasta, pizza, Gelato. 😍
Yum!
❤
Butter, fried egg (fried in either oil or more butter), processed meat, and processed fo-cheese is ticking all the right boxes?
That’s what I thought! 😂
I always love hearing other people love some soup! When in doubt, when I can’t decide, when I’m not feeling well, when I’m down in the dumps…. Soup (often wonton or eggdrop)!
Oh my gosh, I love that you said San Sebastian! That's my favorite Spanish (Basque) city!!
Me too!
Could you review The Anna Edit’s WIEIAD? She sometimes filters them through her Vlogs, but she seems to have a very natural and intuitive way of eating :)
I'll have a look!
I loooove Anna and Mark. They'd be great to look at.
I’ve never met anyone who could only eat 2tbs of Rx vanilla almond butter... it’s soooo good
Yum!
Great idea!
Can you please do a video on Holistic Habits? she has interesting recipes
On the list!
@@AbbeysKitchen YESSSSSSSSSSS
If you haven't had frozen grapes, do it! They really are like little popsicle bites😍
Omgoodness frozen grapes at the beach is such a vibe. 🧊 🍇 + 🏖 = 💆♀️
YES frozen green grapes are delicious
I’ve never tried freezing red grapes, I bet that would be good too hmm
Do they hurt your teeth though?
Try jelly berries grapes. Then freeze them. Then be mad at me for not telling you sooner.
I'll have to try that!
I'd love you review of Stephanie Buttermore's recent videos now she's eating intuitively, post all-in. Also I would love to see more "normal" eaters like Dianna Malloy. 💕
Both are on the list!
Aww I love when Abbey makes friends 😊
😊❤️
I like how she said “there’s a time and place for the low sugar candy and the normal candy” and how she said “One is not good and the other is not bad”
Soooo true we love that!
So true!
Im from Barcelona, so what can I say? My second favorite, is Venezia, the food is like being in heaven. Roma its also cool, very different. All Italy is awesome. In Spain, any place in Andalusia is good, or Euskadi, Galicia or Asturias 💓💓
That all sounds amazing!
Totally agree and I am from the Netherlands 😃
What you say about serving sizes is so spot on. I work in food testing, including testing for what goes on the nutritional panel, and it is completely arbitrary what the company decides to put as a serving size. Often it has nothing to do with nutrition and more to do with what looks best for the product - ie, a lot of products want round numbers like '100 cals' or '20g protein' '25%RDI Iron Per serving!' As selling points, and will manipulate the serving size to get it.
Yes totally!
Would you ever consider doing a deep dive on Foodie Beauty/Chantal Marie?
It's almost 1am in India but I'm here for this.
I hope you enjoyed it!
So glad that you've confirmed your knowledge of the Sugar Free Haribo Gummy Bear debacle hahaha
Couldn’t forget it if I tried
So I saw this comment and decided what the heck I'm gonna Google the gummies and OMFG 😭🤣🤣
@@AbbeysKitchen Though we would all like to...
now i would LOVE to see Abbey and Lucy being friends and hanging out together
Would love to see a video about how to eat healthy as a vegan! I'm not sure if I'm calculating my fat, carbs, and proetin right. Absolutely grateful to watch you❤
I'll put this on the list!
Pick up Limes is a great resource for this! She's a vegan dietician who has some of the best recipes I've ever had 😋🤤
Abby , plz never ever stop your channels , im in love all your videos and i learned so much and took notes and so mind blowing , your channel showed not be scared of food and eliminate them but to make my meals delicious for that statifying feeling !!! Plz never stop ❤
Thank you so much!
Abby! Thank you for making this! I have been waiting and I was not disappointed! 😩 I love Lucy, and she has come a long way! ✨
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video as always Abbey! I love that you brought up the “nitrate free” issue. I’m back at university (thanks to covid I’m on pause with my career) and in a food science class I’m taking, we had thing long discussion about this exact issue. So interesting!
I'm glad you enjoyed that part!
time stamp for this please? 😊
I don't like diet or regular pop, but I love sparkling water with frozen fruit instead of ice cubes. The fruit absorbs some of the carbonation and you get a fizzy fruity snack at the end!
ABBEY! please do a review on Trisha paytas and Ethan klien on the H3 podcast Frenemies! I love them both and I have noticed some very disordered eating discussion in the most recent podcast and also podcasts before. I think they just need encouragement and an introduction into intuitive eating and loving themselves while losing weight
I'll have a look at that. I have a review of Trisha on my channel also already: ua-cam.com/video/si1-gPNyaLA/v-deo.html&ab_channel=AbbeySharp
@@AbbeysKitchen I have seen it and I loved it! I think that she has grown a lot since you reviewed her and I think that they both really need a dieticians advise! They both struggle with weight gain and want to better their relationship with food, and they have expressed they want an expert opinion especially to understand the psychology behind the diet culture surrounding weight gain and Trishas own struggle with disordered eating. You're always very fair and honest in your reviews and I cant think of anyone who could do it better than you! Thank you 💗💗
I love that you always release videos at the same time I have lunch 😆
Yay!
I don't know why so many people are against diet pop. It's literally a staple when I diet
It works for losing weight when you are dieting! But it's just not healthy (both dieting and diet pop). Dieticians and such are trained to get people healthy, not skinny! I love my diet pop too.
I love that you mention coffee habits ! I actually started added less sugar in my coffee this year and 3 months in i stopped using sugar now i just have my coffee with a bit of half and half :) finally quit sugar in my coffee!!
And i got used to the taste ! Now i don’t even like sugar in my coffee i find it too sweet
I love your advice to slowly swap two foods, like the ice cream and fruit. I am an all or nothing dieter, mostly due to the binge eating and starvation cycle I’ve always done. Honestly that is one of my hardest diet flaws to overcome. I have a VERY hard time eating normal portions. I enjoy healthier foods but I just can’t stop binging on everything.
hi Abbey! Basque subscriber here, I'm all for you knowing San Sebastian!!! we have amazing food in the Basque Country I was so happy to hear that you love it :)
I do diet soda because I am diabetic. So if I'm gonna have a bun on my burger and/or a small fry, inhale to have diet or it is too many carbs.
I totally understand! Whatever works for you
I agree it’s totally a preference. I don’t like pop at all. Or juice. I just drink coffee or water. And I would take that bun on the burger any day! But I love carbs! 😊
So glad to hear she is better from her eating disorder :)
Me too!
Wow that’s a good idea I never thought about changing a habit like that. I always thought you have to quit cold turkey
Yes for sure!
I was surprised how much I like her and her “what I eat in a day”. 👍🏼
Omg THANK YOUUUU LOVE YOU😍❤️
😊❤️
Taylor Swift and Gwyneth Paltrow had a child 🤣 I mean that as the best compliment
That RX vanilla nut butter LITERALLY tastes like cake batter. It smells like cake batter. My boyfriend (who has lost 100 pounds) is ADDICTED to it. Having a spoonful or two feels like having a little dessert without the guilt. It’s so friggin good, Abbey. And sometimes I add LILY’s sugar free milk chocolate chips to it. It is *chefs kiss*.
Yum!!
Hey Abbey, I'm seriously considering switching to a plant based diet while my husband and daughter are not. I would love to hear any tips you may have for transitioning to plant based for myself in a healthy way while dealing with different diets in one house. I'm the main cook in the house so I'm prepared for the extra work but appreciate any tips you may have!
