I have carried a rifle in the traditional African carry method for decades and seeing this video makes me wonder what was wrong with me all those years for not turning it into your cross-body muzzle down method. It seems to answer the few down sides of the traditional carry method without introducing any new ones. Excellent. By the way, I too wear a practical brimmed hat when hunting. When I was in South Africa, I got some strange looks for my choice of headgear the first morning, but when we got back to camp that evening, I was the only one without a sunburned neck and ears, so there is that! Thanks for another great video.
Been elk hunting for last 44 years & have carried my rifles muzzle down. Here's a tip: If you carry it muzzle down, just run your thumb on the same side down and hook your front pants pocket , this allows you to control that rifle because the sling going to be basically between your thumb and forefinger with your thumb hooked into your pants pocket corner. I don't necessarily carry it crossbody like you did, I carried on one shoulder straight down. Works like a charm.
I do make a lot of quick shots but usually if I’m stalking in really close I’ll already have my rifle in my hands. I only archery hunt with a recurve so it’s just always in my hands. I don’t own a compound bow

Keep up the good work buddy!
Thanks, will do!
👍🏼 how often do you find yourself having to make quick shots? How do you carry your compound bow?
