This is one of the most useful shooting videos I have seen.
Thanks for this very useful and informative clip. You answered all my questions in such a concise manner. well done
Yes agreed. Very clear, concise and objective. Very good video, articulate delivery
Thanks for this video. I was going to get a longer bipod but now I'll just stick to the shooting sticks.
Of all the videos I've seen...thanks for getting to the point...Which sticks are you suggesting?
Good video.
This makes me happy I got a shooting stick instead of a bipod.
Oh wow, i had never even given it that much thought.. Thanks for the vid..
+meals24u Once you shoot with sticks and pods you'll become addicted to the accuracy. I like the stick because I'm more mobile. I think GrandViewOutdoors has just the right setup for what he's doing here. Shot placement and confidence goes through the roof with a mobile dead rest. Beats the hell out of laying down in the crap to get into the prone position.
Thanks! A couple of angles I hadn't considered.....
When you say your preference is a short bipod on a rifle and shooting sticks, what is your preferred size for the bipod? 6"-9" or 9"-13"?
Great video. Clean and well spoken.
Where can I find that bipod for my shotgun?
I think the weight of that would ruin your swing, a bit of a sacrifice just to have a way of sitting your gun down conveniently.
Great insight thank you for making this video
Would you prefer the bi pod to the tri pod ie: the Bog Pod?
Very well done. Good info.
Hello Dustin, good info there man. I would like to invite you and your viewers to check out the SmartRest - Hyper Pod, an Australian product. Designed for the exact reasons you were talking about with limitation from bipods and the inconvenience of carrying sticks, especially on uneven and rough terrain. When you are covering great distances for hunting, weight is a big thing, less is better obviously, so we designed the Hyper Pod, which can be used in any situation, angles, elevations etc. Look up SmartRest Hyper Pod, it's on UA-cam. I hope you enjoy the footage.
Good vid dude
I love my bipod for zeroing at the range and it's great for quickly using on different rifles when needed. But it's pretty pointless for hunting as it can only really be used when going prone. I might chuck one in my pack in case I need it as it can quickly be attached but overall shooting sticks are much more useful. Only downside with sticks though if you have to carry them.
What kind of sticks is that?
The shooting sticks are Harris or the bipod? Not seeing the shooting sticks you are referring to
What bipod is that
That was very informative thanks sertanly be taken that on board
Other negatives about the bipod is any attachment to the rifle adds weight and weight forward on the barrel pulls the barrel down when shooting free hand that can throw aim off. I don't like any attachment on the rifle that does not belong there or is not necessary to its proper function. Such things are often interference to the rifle's proper function. Bipods often have feet at the base that move around so its not as stable a platform as anchored points that stick in the ground. I prefer the old school shooting stick. A monopod shooting stick. An adjustable one is better. There are less negatives to me with a monopod when lacking a proper stable platform to shoot from.
You are an incorrect on everything you said. Moreover a bipod is not attached to your barrel it is attached to you forearm.
All you need now is the primos adjustable tripod
Dude. All these bipod mobility problems are solved with the uber light weight Snipepod.
you ever hear of a windsock so we don't got to hear it while you're talking
Jesus Ted Nugent, i was waiting for you to pull out more guns. It was a clown car. Sorry. Drunk.
Dude.. you need a swagger bipod. You could forget all about all of that other gear and focus on the hunt.
just for the views hit like OMG
I never understand why people like shooting coyotes, or how they say in fly over country, Kieyoats. I just don't get it, unless you have sheep or something, but for that why don't people just get insurance like in many parts of the world. As far as I understand, coyotes and other mid level predators help control a lot of rodents that in excess are horrible for crops and can put pressure on plants. If people then shoot them for fun (because you don't eat coyote), then it's just kinda sick. I just don't get it. Sorry. In any case, thanks for the video and for the explanation on your preferences for sticks and bipods.
Jorge Garcia coyotes also kill alot of game animals fawn, rabbits, phesants, squirrels, as well as rodents... but they all need some kind of balance as far as numbers of predator vs prey.... i enjoy hunting coyote because it expends my hunting season and gets me out doing something rather than sitting around..
Jorge Garcia coyotes kill mice but who kills coyotes? Everything has to be kept in check. Out here in California the coyotes are killing the upland bird population so quail and chucker that used to thrive are diminishing.
Jorge Garcia, Why dont u go to college & learn about game management & quit asking stupid questions.
@@zacs509 over here in californis coyotes are ruining chickens stocks
@@chevysilverado3150 and rabbit and quail and chukkar and everything else they can get to.
Using a Rifle and Shotgun is a good start. I usually carry my Rifle, a Shotgun, a Handgun, a Crossbow, a Knife, a Slingshot, a pair of scissors and a Toenail clipper....
