Hello Cade how do you store your rifle when doing long ass hikes in the mountain? Gun bearer?

I carry my rifle cross body with a sling. I’m not really a fan of carrying systems. However on the pack out after I’ve killed sometimes I will use the scabbard that is built into these Eberlestock packs
