Thanks for posting a video that didn't "cherry pick" your best run but gave us reality! This is an excellent test of skills, but also an excellent test of rifles against a set course of fire. A lot of people have a safe full of rifles, have a favorite rifle that they use, but might actually be better served by something else in their safe. This is something that they would only know if they practiced field shooting positions and then submitted the rifles (and themselves) to the cabin fever challenge course of fire. Of course, the fact that it can only be shot for score during the few winter months of January through March makes it MUCH more challenging to those of us that have winter... Keep up the excellent content, Sir!
Outstanding video! Thanks for posting. Was the ammo you used for the challenge have the same bullet weight and velocity as your hunting ammo? In my 308, 30-06 and 30-30 that a 150gr vs 170 gr print over 2" apart @ 100 yards using the same zero on the rifles. Lots of good lessons in this video. Thanks again.
It’s mildly different but I didn’t figure it would make that much of a difference for the challenge. When the weather isn’t so awful I’ll make another run with the MVP to redeem myself. The rifle did its job well even if I didn’t.
@@CadeCole_Roadhouse As you've said, the ammo/rifle did group well, it's just a matter of adjusting the zero/hold to improve the score. Thanks again for sharing this exercise and reminding us the importance of real world practice. Very well done at every level - shooting, commentary, videoing and editing.
Good training there. Looks like you could use a dump pouch. Handy thing for all manner of items, mine gets used for tinder and foraging more than magazines lol. Best to keep those mags off the ground.
That drill looks like fun! Was the sight the biggest difference? Or recoil? I’d be interested in seeing how else you prepare for “in the field” shooting. Practice like you play!
I think the recoil and movement working the bolt on the scout rifle makes it a bigger challenge. I was happy with my grouping just unable to see where I was hitting with no magnification
@@CadeCole_Roadhouseunderstood! I drew a muzzle loader deer tag in NM this year so I’m learning to shoot with open sights. It’s definitely more challenging. Hats off to you doing that on the regular!
One of the most deadly snipers in history known as white death used open sights and a bolt action rifle. Was gonna say it looked like your zero was low but then you said what was going on. I'd say you can shoot center
Cool video. Glad Cliff had you on his channel. I enjoyed that video as well!
Great Vedio men keep them coming

Thank you so much. I’m glad it’s all appreciated!
Awesome video. It’s important to get out there and train.
Yes sir 👊

Thanks so much for watching! 🤝

It’s not really necessary for this drill as it’s all about the time getting rounds on target. That’s why I don’t have the belt on
Understood. Didn’t really think that you were unaware, more mentioned it for the viewers. Good work btw. That’s a true test
@@hillbillynick2000 thanks! It’s pretty informative for evaluating your skill set for sure

@@yungskullivan good luck on your hunt!!
What stock is that on your Mossberg MVP?

MVP needs an encore!
I’m going to run it again soon when the weather is a little better! I know I could pull off a better run
Are you submitting the video to the challenge website?
The M4 run absolutely. That’s my best I’ve ever shot. Ran through about 200 rounds practicing in the days before I filmed that particular shoot
@@CadeCole_Roadhouse It was a great run!
After seeing this, I feel like I need to change my range session for tomorrow.
That bolt action is sweet
It’s a killing machine in the woods for sure
You need an AR10/LR10 chambered in 308 to compare properly with your Mossberg. But good video though.
I don't nessisarly agree. Both platforms represent their class well.
