    Great video Pete i love watching how others run there reselling business this guy Kurt seemed like a pretty smart reseller with a good sense of how to buy and what to buy and thats key, Seems like a lot of these newer resellers getting into this business always go after new sealed in box items or newer stuff. I don't really see to many people getting into the antiques or vintage items and honestly i like that because i have spent the past 15 years building my knowledge on what i love which is antiques and vintage items so i am happy its not trendy or popular these days because that means less competition. If i only sourced for items that that made me money it would take away the fun part and the interesting part and i think i would be unhappy. See i love finding new and unique things, I love searching for those off the wall crazy unique items that people have never seen before, Yesterday i sold a piece of trench art for $3400 i paid $120 for it at a estate sale, Thats the sort of stuff i live for, I love what i do because i deal with stuff that interest me. Thanks for sharing another great video Pete keep hustling and grinding.

    Would be neat to see more joint ventures with you and Kurt. How about you two go to garage sales together?
    That would be interesting.

    Hello Pete! Been watching you videos back-to-back- Thanks for your effort and for sharing your insight. I heard Vicky (?) mention something about a smelly case. Have you heard of an ozone generator? They're used for odor removal, like from fire damage, pet odors, musty smells- Even the stench of a rotting corpse! (I've seen them used for that purpose in the auto salvage industry). They'll remove cigarette/cigar/pipe smoke odor from vehicles or clothing in a short period of time. You can get a bare bones industrial grade unit for less than $200 online. You might find one to be an asset to your store. -Cheers! -Mitch

    I contacted Ebay and reported the following annoying changes that have recently been made at eBay that negatively impact sellers: 1. when searching with the sold filter on the via ebay desktop it is now behaving like the ebay APP and it defaults in completed items. Even if you remove the check from completed items I am not confident it changes the search results. 2. Once you click on a SOLD in the search results it does not pull up the item it redirects you with the following message "Item not available perhaps you would be interested in this item" . He was surprised when he replicated #2 was happening and said this is the first it was reported. He also suggested that users are welcome to report feedback via My eBay, Summary and click "Tell us what you thing" under search button.

    • @janek4913

      the ebay app has a built in barcode scanner, thats what he probably uses

      PolskaDojczland thanks for replying, true eBay has one as well as Amazon. But there are a few that track all these places in one scan. One found sorta does this is called “Price Scanner” on IOS. Just wanted insight on the Craigslist Hunter’s favorites.

    I collect Bicycle cards. Those decks look like common ones. Hopefully next time he'll look up the prices first. I wouldn't have bought them to resell. Nice price if you're going to keep them, though.

    What happens to inventory that just won’t sell and you’ve had it for too long?

    • @susangarcia6233
      @susangarcia6233 6 років тому +1

      I put them on Craigslist at half price or some absurd, extreme bargain price (essentially a give-a-way), because (1) that still beats the cost of continued long-term storage, and (2) I just love to have extremely happy customers, as this practice will generate, some of whom become repeat customers, too. One of the most extreme examples I can think of offhand is the time I sold a lawnmower engine for one dollar ($1); also some nice heavy-gauge steel chain for $3.
      After that, the last resort is to donate unsold stuff back to the community thrift stores and charities before the end of the calendar year for the tax value. One other method I have used is to simply give unsold merchandise away to a customer who is actually buying something else "as a bonus" if they want it. (Again, for happy customers.)

    • @RoccosGrimaldi
      @RoccosGrimaldi 6 років тому +1

      Susan Garcia I figured. It’s better to recoup SOME of the cash vs the cost of hanging on to the stuff, storing it.
      I know a guy that has a monthly dollar sale on the loads of things he can’t sell via online or in his physical store. He buys storage lockers and the majority of the stuff is low value (but not worthless) items... clothing, random utensils and kitchen items, Knick knacks, toys, electronics, etc...
      He’ll hold a dollar sale and make $300-$500 in a day. Anything else, he donates to goodwill.
      I used to do resale with my wife back in the beginning of eBay. The first ten years, we made a couple hundred grand as just a hobby.
      We still dabble in resale. I work at a major resort hotel chain. I’m picking the unclaimed list and found items for some spare cash. I’d like to find a way to go back into reselling full-time, but you really need to hustle. And it takes money to make money.

      Dumpster-diving, as Pete demonstrates. You'd be amazed at the amount of free inventory that is out there.

    The guy does not need a "pickup truck"
    A van is what a merchant uses.
    Why would anyone want to crawl around in a camper shell enclosed bed of a pickup to get the stuff behind the cab?
    I have had both.
    Aways a joyful day when merchants move from the pickup they started with to a van.

    5:08 - I find it funny you talk about these flea market grinds... yet you spend entire days driving around BFE looking for rusted signs, dumpster diving, and playing through piles of trash to make substantially less (or so i assume). Its all about your time, and the perception of the value you get for it i guess!

    wish you'd show us the epiphone. Some are very valuable. Depends on age. Originally, Epiphone was their own brand, not part of Gibson... and even for a while after they bought Epiphone the Epi were a higher end guitar than the gibsons. Later they became a secondary brand, but are often as good or better than the Gibsons, just made in China or some such.
