Hey Pete, I can't lie, you changed my life. In two months, I went from working two part-time jobs at about 50-60 hours a week, to working just one part-time job about 25 hours a week. My hours at work are gradually decreasing too. All thanks to watching your videos and seeing you make a living doing what you love. I love it too. You've turned my hobby into a job, hopefully a career. Thanks Pete, I owe you.
bloebachable thats the realest comment ive ever seen on any of petes videos. i hope to one day be sayin the same thing as u...im just havin trouble on where to even start...ive startd at thrift stores but i feel awkward looking up stuff in the store on my phone.
People are on their phones as is... so dont be shy. Resellers are not new to thrift stores, garage sales, pawn shops at all. To sell well you need to know how to buy well, and if a phones going to help you understand profit margins then it's awkward not to use your phone. Im sure Pete and most other resellers who've been in the game for years still use their phone consistently to get an understanding. Hope it helps, get some product, and start listing. You're only stopping yourself =)
Very good. Once you get over the learning curve, make the mistakes we all make in the beginning, get your sourcing in line, you can make a nice life. Congratulations
I've been binge watching all these videos, I'm in love with everyone in your shop, Pete you go out of your way to help people with great advice, a real good guy!!
Love your videos. You have so much knowledge in a variety of areas. So many can learn from you. I believe the first video I watch of you was watching a video a few years back of you doing a clean out of a home. Keep up the great work!
Pete you are awesome man, Out of all of the resellers on youtube me and you are the most alike when it comes down to the type of items we buy and sell. I just started my UA-cam channel and i am trying to build it. Your content is exactly what i life and what i am trying to offer. You don't try to teach people how to be a reseller and you just show us your business and allow people into your like as a reseller, I love it. Thanks for everything and your time you put into making videos.
Pete I really always enjoy watching your videos there very educational and it’s very obvious you have a lot of experience in the resellers world great videos Thank you so much it’s been a real blessing in my eBay business 👍😊🙏 Mark
That creeper at the end was frisky and high as f***, glad I don't deal with people like that all the time! Great video as always Pete keep it up, I appreciate how you show how real and tough this business can be, instead of glamorizing it like other channels.
Keep up the videos man, I never watched reselling videos on here and came across you somehow, your doing a great job. You get a subscribe from me. Keep up the good work, that is all!
Pete.... How did it turn out with the Dewalt hammer drill? It's becoming epidemic, people returning empty boxes or different items that were shipped to them. Ebay has to give us some protection. I was thinking about getting an ultaviolet stamp and marking every high dollar item I ship.
It happens a lot with Amazon returns too soo much shady stuff. They swap out new items with cheap broken ones get a refund then sell off the new product for much more.
That’s a BA military spec binoculars you sold there! I love all of the amazing content and items you come across! I’m working on watching all the content posted before i subscribed 8+months ago!
The problem with Plexi is the reflection. We actually use a white pull down shade that you would use for a window. Once we are done we pull the shade back up. No reflection and easy to clean.
Pete thanks for the videos, it just goes to show that anybody with drive can do what they love. I am looking to reduce my work schedule to 3 days a week I I am currently working 4. I don’t like the idea of working for another mans dream. I have other streams of income and those are taking off as well Thanks again.
The good thing about Dewalt tools is they have serial numbers. I always take photos of any serial numbers plus put it in the description and add my own item specifics with it as well. Then there is no arguing that they sent back a different item.
You can get a good idea what a best offer sold for by sorting them by highest price. If a highest price has 200 slashed out but its above a 175 BIN it sold between 200 and 175.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that all these customers have a huge sense of desperation...like their entire financial being is dependent on Pete buying or passing on an item.
Sure they are desperate, if they weren't they wouldn't be there. So what, that doesn't make Peter a bad guy. Hell, he even shows them up front what to expect from eBay, but they want/need instant gratification.
I agree with IL-Matt on the last lot of sellers. I was frowning thinking what are they doing. That was my thought on the phone. I Assume that most people know how to reset phone?

@craigslist hunter US military items are always made in the US. If it have a tag from another country it is a knockoff. Defense contracts make it so manufacture has to be done in US
Hey Pete. Great videos. I have a question, hoping you can help. Today i bought a guitar at a local garage sale for reselling. A few hours after the purchase, i started to have second-thoughts about the purchase. The seller stated they didn't play guitar and was selling it because a friend donated it to her to fund her daughter's beauty pageants. Is there any way a common reseller can protect their self from the law if it turns out an item is actually stolen? Obviously i would rather lose my investment rather than dealing with any legal situations. Thanks!
I have a question about how you print postage labels, which printers you can recommend? What can you recommend for those who Ebay use every day for selling. Maybe you can make special video about printing? Thanks
hard to say if that purchaser used that drill, or just stuck his old one in box,....scum man, and yea, that dude at end of video was pretty shady and treats his girlfriend like sh*t.
It won't help. Sadly, the customer service on ebay will simply ask you how you can prove that YOU sent that exact particular item and YOU did not switch it. This goes both ways with the returned item as well. They do not care if its a new buyer. That's the worst part. Record it in video? Yeah, they DO NOT care....period. Sorry for bringing the bad news.
Eric Freebooter Unfortunately, same thing. I was told since I was a business seller (meaning items sold are 200+ per certain period.. I wasn't paying attention coz it sounded bs anyway) they will not cover it. I asked so if its personal will you cover it? The dingbat covered his @$$ and said this is not the case here so I cannot answer your question.
Let me start out by saying Hi Vicki !!!. I always wondered that myself. If I'm selling something that someone else already has, what if they swap their broken item for mine. What push bag person does that?. Thanks Pete foe wrapping that ET looking thing on camera. Gave me an Idea that I wasn't doing anything wrong. Is Adrian on vacation?.. Keep up the good work at the TP.
At the beginning of the video I noticed you were saying you're getting ready to take some stuff to the post office. A seller in another video I watched before this one said the only thing he ships via USPS are flat rate and first class items, and other than that he ships everything FEDEX. I read on Replacements.com (dishes, etc.) that they don't ship anything UPS. A close friend recently worked briefly for the biggest UPS facility in the world loading and unloading trailers for two months and he calls them united package smashers so I understand why that dishes company doesn't ship UPS. We've been doing the eBay thing for just under two years and the only thing we've shipped anything other than USPS is a bicycle we shipped across the US via Greyhound. Do you ship pretty much everything through USPS or do you use Fedex and/or UPS, and what criteria do you use to determine what shipper to use? Is it totally based on shipping costs, shipping time to the customer, breakage, following through on insurance claims, or something else? Your Goodwill store is HUGE compared to the two that are close by us. We live only about 80 miles from you across the border in Indiana.
Those large/irregular duffel bags are sometimes real G.I..There are lots of things that are issues in big bags provided by the manufacturer. Antennas, tent poles, and other such stuff can come with some cool, big duffel bags. And, some are chinese crap.
I once traded an old laptop for a huge, vintage gumball machine I then traded that for and s10 worth about 1600.. You have, got me reinspired but im scared to commit.
As you said they are 20 years old.... You paid $700 for them which is absolutely full price because they are an old technology, they are not an investment and do not retain any of the suggested retail price....if you get $1300 for them it is a complete miracle cuz they are in no way shape or form worth $2600....
It's so sad that guys like that can even get girls in the first place like why would anyone want to be around some one that's abusive and known for beating his ex girlfriends when there are hundreds of decent guys out there who Carnt even get a text back
Do you think there is a market for washing machine parts? I have a bunch of dismantled washing machines and not sure if its even worth trying. Love you channel, the most useful channel i listen to. Thx
I would never sell a $2600 item on ebay. What if the customer says they got a box of rocks like when Pete sold the $600 laptop? Ebay will just tell you to accept it as a business loss (while they take the seller fees for it).
I love how people have no idea what the gb capacity is.. Or the i cloud password.. That screams stolen..... I must say Golden Picker seems so jealous of Pete....
Learning what will sell, and sell fast can be a problem. However, I simply don't invest much unless I KNOW it sells and sells fast. If I don't have much in something, I can afford to wait a while. Somebody I know that sells on ebay gives her stuff to the thrift if it doesn't sell in one or two listings. That's crazy to spend money on it then be in such a hurry you give it away. Better to take a lower price and make some money than none.
Two reasons I will not sell on ebay: between eBay fees and PayPal (another monopoly) they take 25 %. Unscrupulous buyer that switch the item claiming it was received as non-working or damaged.
Ebay will not give a f##k about it. This happened to me last week, buyer just joined ebay the day he bought my merchandise and ebay did not take my 7-year 100% feedback in consideration. He (the buyer) swapped the item with a non-working one and I paid for return shipping, too. They tell victimized sellers to report the buyer.......they talk as if that will get your money back, smh. Can't blame them, because overseas customer service are not paid to think they're just there to mindlessly read you the guidelines & rules implemented by ebay. Called paypal and reported that particular buyer, hopefully he would get blocked from further online purchases. To other sellers: If this happened to you and the item is really expensive, I would suggest report the buyer to their local precinct.
Hey I got a Nice TV at a Estate sale for $250 and it is selling new for $2600 and used for $1800 on eBay no problem. But I can't ship it bc I dont trust that it will ship safely. I have it as local pick up. I already had many offers but all want it shipped any ideas on how to ship this if I can't get any good local offers??? Also how can I avoid eBay scammer? eBay says they can still request return with no refunds and have to offer PayPal now not cash only.
How did you get on with EBay when you complain to Ebay that some scum bag buys a good condition drill from you and asks for a refund by sending a rundown piece of crap not what you sent them. Just wondering how you get around to prove to Ebay that that item is not the one you sent the scammer, and did Ebay cover you as they usually always side with the buyer every time . Had this done to me twice with items and i ended up paying the price because some scum bag buyer scammed me & had to refund them each time.
Hi sir. this is Bharat. i have watched all your videos. your vlogs are fantastic. The content that you provide is extremely helpful to all of us here. i have earned 40000 INR IN ONE MONTH
So I attach a small tamper evident seal to most of my items so that if they send me back a different item I have proof. That way I don't have problems with the drill like you did.
I purchased a roll of tamper evident stickers on eBay. I then attach the sticker to any item that I sell. If the customer tries to switch it out for a different unit and return it I will know 100% as the unit will not have the seal.
Waste of money. Its obvious he sent back his used and broken drill, you dont need a tamper sticker on there to realize that. The problem lies with ebay and paypal. What will probably end up happening in this case after many hours wasted on the phone with ebay/paypal the scammer will get his money back and peter will get his money back. Its a stupid system paypal/ebay have, basically everybody loses except the scammer. Pete will get his money back but will have wasted many hours on the phone, paypal/ebay will have to refund the money to both peter and the scammer, and the scammer will walk away with no time wasted, his money back, and a brand new drill.
Your correct in this case that's exactly what will happen. However I've had many cases where I will send an item, usually a more expensive electronic item, and the buyer will claim it's defective. Attaching a label in the correct spot will do two things for me, it will let me know if the items been swapped out or if it's had a part removed. For instance on a laptop or game console, covering a screw that would have to be removed to disassemble the item ensures that no parts have been swapped out. If nothing else it costs me a few cents and helps me sleep better.
Yeah youre totally right. Parts harvesters are another problem. Ebay and paypal need to get their shit together and start better protecting ebay sellers. I think Im gonna buy some of those stickers as well. Do you have a link for the ones you get?
DC rox yes absolutely you can purchase them on eBay. I buy the "round 1/2" tamper evident sticker". When you apply it place it inconspicuously or depending on the item cover a screw hole that would have to be removed to take out parts. Honest buyers will even notice a small sticker that looks like it belongs and dishonest buyers plans will be derailed.

I like the idea of concentrating on niches. Thanks Pete!

It's becoming epidemic, people returning empty boxes or different items that were shipped to them. Ebay has to give us some protection. I was thinking about getting an ultaviolet stamp and marking every high dollar item I ship.

The good thing about Dewalt tools is they have serial numbers. I always take photos of any serial numbers plus put it in the description and add my own item specifics with it as well. Then there is no arguing that they sent back a different item.
Security mark what you send out with a UV pen then if it gets sent back and swapped you can prove it! Or state no returns due to parts swappers.
16:40 that's a good reason to write down the serial numbers
Loving the toy soldiers Eminem playing in the background of store😂😂
Great advice at the end for resellers !
Very good advice about studying the niches.
I saw you have a noco boost box those are awesome I own 2 of them and I use them all the time for my roadside business
You can get a good idea what a best offer sold for by sorting them by highest price. If a highest price has 200 slashed out but its above a 175 BIN it sold between 200 and 175.

Just wondering how you get around to prove to Ebay that that item is not the one you sent the scammer, and did Ebay cover you as they usually always side with the buyer every time . Had this done to me twice with items and i ended up paying the price because some scum bag buyer scammed me & had to refund them each time.

No Craigslist. They don't like lowballers, and no reply on e-mail
Hopefully you keep track of all the serial numbers on power tools like that
that is the best way to win a case with proof!!!
Nice University of Minnesota shirt. One of my alma maters.
That family at the end... wut.
Your quite a businessman...you should be very proud...✅
As should anyone like him. Hard work and effort pays off 👍🏻
what is the music at the end??
