You might have seen Bryan Johnson on TikTok or in your Reels feed. He’s the man who spends $2 million every year to slow his speed of aging…and shares all of that information for free.
To slow down his aging, Johnson has tried some pretty extreme stuff like transfusions of his teenage son's blood plasma (a practice he has since abandoned due to its ineffectiveness). He maintains a strict adherence to a meticulously calculated plant-based diet, and consumes over 100 supplements daily.
What propels this relentless pursuit of immortality? We found out while filming our Hard Reset episode, where we tested Bryan Johnson's biohacking routine, and listened to him explain his philosophy for a healthier, longer future for humanity.

he's clearly having fun doing all this. he's living a life where he does what he wants and has fun doing it: trying to hack death. all the people saying "oh but is he really living..." yes, duh, of course he is. he's a rich man having fun trying to advance science and not slaving away at a wage-labor day job. he's having a good time, clearly.
Amen
He seems like an ai generated human
Bryan is a decent human being trying to help his fellow human beings. He will die but he’ll die trying to save himself and others. At least we might become healthy again.
We all gonna die, but we can feel high vitality all the while :)
if you are a bilionaire you are not a decent human being, if you were you would have burned your money before acoumilating nosesnically
NO, MATTER OF FACT BRYAN IS DOING SOCIETY A DISSERVICE, BUT DARWIN YOU KNOW...
@@ninblau2095 What use would that to anybody to burn their money? That's money that could be put towards bettering other peoples lives

So true
People really need to watch the Flagrant Podcast interview with Brian. His goal isn't to live forever, it's to be patient N to acquire data to build a model to improve health prevention and apply a similar model to the earth as a whole.
"improve health prevention" ?
I hope that's an error. Surely we don't want to PREVENT health??
This. He's ultimately trying to extend human lifespan and improve health conditions for everyone...he's saving us if anything.
For this to work, we would require a bigger dataset, meaning, more people doing the same things. As all humans have different DNA and race this might have varying effect on different people.
That's exactly how science and medicine don't work.
@@puzzardosalami3443 There is a historical precedent for this type of patient N study already.
In 1984 Professor Barry Marshall was not authorized to test on human patients so he infected himself with H. Pylori then successfully treated himself with antibiotics and went on to win the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize.
Additionally, in 1796 Edward Jenner tested his hypothesis for a Cow Pow cure on James Phipps, the eight-year-old son of his gardener. Less ethical imo than testing on himself, but it still was an occurrence of a self-imposed patient N example.
This man is deep. I’m enjoying his messages. He’s inspiring. I really love his idea of changing our outlook and future as a peaceful and cooperative species.
"I had to destroy my mind before my mind could destroy me" THIS, right here, THIS!! Resetting this NOW. Thank you, Bryan!! This ONE sentence nailed it for me. Similar to Joe Dispenza's Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself, but I like your approach better. I've been allowing my thoughts to derail me on/off when I put my organ's needs first things are better.
Great guy. Don't understand all the hate he gets. Someone has to try it out.
HE IS DOING IT ALL WRONG, HE DOESN'T NEED ANY OF THOSE SUPPLEMENTS TO START WITH, BUT LET HIM HAVE THEM, DARWIN, YOU KNOW...

It's interesting to read how people react to Brian's message. I believe the more health conscious a person is, the best is the reaction and the other way around..

Don't they care about their 1 and only life?

Longevity is lucky to have Bryan
Awesome video, found it just now
Honestly i commend him for trying this hard to reverse the inevitable. At least hes giving it his very best shot.
I wish people would stop worring about finding the fountain of youth and figure out how to regrown damaged or missing limbs I believe then we will learn how to live forever once they figure out how to do that!
In 2022 Texas A&M University researchers got one step closer to human limb regeneration! www.freethink.com/science/human-limb-regeneration Additionally, researchers have recently found a way to regenerate limbs in frogs. Treated frogs grew leg-like structures with muscles, bones, nerves, and more in 18 months. www.freethink.com/science/limb-regeneration
Our favorite part of that article is how the researchers described the legs: “They weren’t perfect cosmetically, but they were pretty darn good legs.” 🐸
I can't even get doctors to listen to me about my Dad fully recovering (albeit only a handful of hours, which proves my CSF removal theory as being the fix) a long-term chronic mystery illness following a lumbar puncture for something totally unrelated & this guy can get all of this done simply due to $$. We live in a sick society where $ rules, so it doesn't matter if you figure all of this out only certain people can play the game. Trust me, if I was related to this guy my Dad would be home right now not in a rehabilitation center unable to rehab because he can't stay awake they won't send him out to be evaluated until he's "outpatient" but that's if he can even stay awake enough to rehab to get out to get to a neurologist to be properly evaluated. A sick system sicker than any illness we've got!

What exactly does he do to exercise his brain mechanisms and chemistry to keep it from aging?
Look, I'm not saying that this research and these programmes are worthless...
But if your goal is to add as many years of good health to the current human population for as cheap as possible (having money over for other projects for prosperity) as soon as possible, I think you should be focused on bringing everyone on this Earth:
1. A good standard of universal public healthcare,
2. Safe working conditions,
3. Clean environments free from eco and health toxins,
4. Good nutritious food and
5. Local, national and international peace.
These efforts will have a greater effect on the human population than any effort exerted trying to extend the years of good health to the people who already are living the longest and healthiest of all countries. Yes, we have our own health problems in the rich world but they pail in comparison to that of the problems that the poor countries and of the poor people in rich countries face.
Yeah. I’ve read Sandman too.
Wow I didn’t know non-violence was one of his core values. How wonderful!
I'm all in and believe most of this... just a thought... Does Bryan looks like Data? from Star Trek
Yes
You mean an android lol
he's right. he's 100% right.
I have to say I commend him, but I looked awesome at 46 with a very random lifestyle. I was a PT for 30 years before I retired so I've always exercised, but always enjoyed red wine and a lot of high fat food. You gradually, naturally as you age cut down on stuff. You can't gorge, you can't binge drink as you age, so it balances out naturally. I got to 69 and someone said 'wait till you hit 70. And I was like 'I'm a beast, it will make no difference. Au contraire. It's like falling off a cliff. The allotted lifespan? Three score years and ten? They knew it! So I won't be around to see it but I bet anything he won't be chirruping when he hits 70. It pains me to admit it. I thought I was invincible. Nature said 'NO! You'll fall apart like every other bugger on this planet.
High fat is only a problem if you consistently mix too much fat and carbohydrates in the same rough time period. One or the other is not nearly as bad. Carbohydrates shouldn't really be eaten in isolation long term its actively damaging to your body and is lacking is fat-soluble nutrients...
@@Mallchad I fully agree. I prefer fat to carbs so never eat high density carbs like bread and pasta and rice (never understood pasta and rice. It's only the addition of fat that makes them palatable!) So my diet has always been, meat, fat and veg. Or just meat and fat and a drink of those powdered greens so I don't have to eat veg! Also. we eat way too many carbs for our lifestyle. When we were physical beings and hand ploughed fields and walked miles a day to get anywhere it was fine. But literally anything now over 50g per day to fuel a life of inactivity is unnecessary.
@@acechadwick Me neither. People always talked about how carbs are so addictive and I was always look at them like an alien because its just a foreign concept to me. Like I prefer fish and bacon to chicken and one of my favourite fruits is coconut... Which is more saturated than beef..
I tried eating a lot of carbs twice in my life and it was a horrible disaster both times. Even Bryan's protocol had more had than carbs last I checked. Most of the carbs were difficult to digest nuts and legumes.
@Mallchad Whivh is why whether you subscribe to the Blood Group Diet or not, it's always made sense to me. As a Blood group O I naturally eat what I'm supposed to and have no desire to eat things I'm not to. And I did that naturally from childhood. I always used to (still do) eat vegetables and potatoes first to 'get them out the way' so I can enjoy the meat 😊
A method that might help the mental health of the human race. It seems it might promote activity in the frontal cortex. It's free and fairly simple.
Combine:
- Maintained focus on a sound and image in your mind instead of idle thoughts
- Breathe fully and steadily through nose to provide oxygen to the brain
- Allow the physical sensations of difficult emotions to run their course if they arise, if you can help it. To process the emotion, sometimes fairly quickly
- It helps to avoid expectations from this process
Recommended to practice a few minutes every few hours, or at least a little bit everyday.
You might sense the benefits within the hour, with the right efforts.

He's totally aware of this and has mentioned in an interview that life can often be so ironic and he might die in some silly accident.
He really should be more careful about his health. He recently said that he got long COVID and it cut his lung capacity by 15%. 😑
People get sick. So what’s your point?
Imagine a world with a privileged few immortals, and billions of less privileged mortals. Or even 10 billion immortals.....what a disaster.

Yes but his method is all evidence based and he quit the blood transfusion because they did not do anything beneficial and this is what's so good about his method he tries a lot of things but if they do not work as intended they are put aside for something else.
How to stop aging? Just be rich and have all the spare time in the world to dedicate your life to it in a world with multiple failing economies.
"we know this about humans.." "when one human does this..." Um, well there it is. Alien or cyborg. You decide.
He'll be Zombie X
He looks like Data from Star Trek.
Yes he does!
You live in a world and interact with it no matter how rich you are. So you are exposed to polution, pesticide, etc... even if you buy your food and buy organic and blablabla you will always be exposed to bad things...
I would like to make my best to not die as long as I can, but at some point I'm not a rich person that can allow myself to refuse going to a work and buying insane amount of supplements. Author of the video has a good idea of saving our lives from destructive behaviour, but not every human being can have same abilities as author does to make life better.
if life worth living sacrificing so much of the enjoyment? is our only purpose to advance our species and deprive ourselves of the experience that is life?
Yea, in our 30-day experiment we had a similar question.
Eating the same thing everything got so boring. The results were great after 30 days though, so we took some of what worked as continued habits, and left out the stuff that wasn't enjoyable.
You can find enjoyment in other activities, not only eating.
YOU ARE SO FULL OF YOURSELF, BRYAN, IT'S SAD, BUT THEN AGAIN, DARWIN COMES TO MIND...
I can't afford to eat like he can. If there was a way for me to eat all organic food I would.
You don't have to eat like him. Just approximate. Buy bulk chickpeas, lentils. Frozen broccoli, berries.
If you skip beef, pork, fish, and dairy you already save enough money because those tend to be expensive.
Eating clean is actually less expensive than the average diet

Extending life or slow aging, is something we know nothing about, but what is the end game ? You think you're going to live to 150y and feel like 30? Let's see.
Yes but Lee wasn't a billionaire with access to doctors who measured his fitness all the time as Bryan does.
imagine two person no.1 and no.2

He doin' it for research bruh.
It's not a prescription for general population.
he's clearly having fun doing all this. he's living a life where he does what he wants and has fun doing it: trying to hack death.
Say what you will about Bryan - if we didn't have people like him we'd still be living in caves
I wish i had 2 mill anually to spend on my health too
Yes, I understand that he may look younger, but that's probably a byproduct of being a Millionaire.
We have to worry about making enough money to pay our rent. Worrying about utility bills. Worrying about gas prices. Worrying about car maintenance. Worrying about food prices. Worrying about having to pay for medical bills. Worrying about keeping our jobs (that most of us don't like). And that's without factoring in a wife and kids, which adds an entire different category of WORRY!
Most people's lives are filled with STRESS because of the need to make money to survive. This stress is an ongoing "background" to most people's lives. This is what makes people look and feel old in many cases. If I could buy whatever I wanted whenever I wanted and not have to WORRY about the cost my stress level would plummet. If I could afford to own a house and not have a mortgage it wouldn't add any undue stress to my life. If I didn't have to worry about getting sick and not being able to afford to pay for treatment or having to file for bankruptcy, then that would be much less STRESS.
I find it hilarious when people who don't have to worry about making a living tell us what we're doing wrong and how to fix it and surprisingly it's never FREE! I don't think I could afford to buy 100 supplements to take each day, not to mention the rest of his malarkey.
If you want people to live longer, healthier, happier lives all you have to do is swallow your pride and admit that there are countries out there that are doing a better job for their citizens than the USA. Take a look at the Scandinavian countries that are already doing that. They provide healthcare from birth to death, a national retirement payment that allows you to live (not just survive - see social security), education through college or vocational/technical school, some include a per diam during college so you don't have to work so that you can concentrate on your education, government mandated vacation time, sick time, and holidays that follow you from job to job, paid maternity and paternity leave. And the push back is always that their tax rates are much higher than here in the USA. YES, they are, but they get so much more for their tax money. So much so, that they are happy with their education, jobs, healthcare, and in general their lives. The STRESS levels of the average person are so much lower because they don't have to worry about these things.
All you have to do is look at medication as a guide. When a pharmaceutical company creates a new medicine they charge through the nose for it to help pay the research costs. So if a treatment is developed that will slow again do you think you'll be able to go down to the local drug store and buy it for less than $10. No, of course not. The only people that will be able to afford it are the Millionaires.
Sounds lik excuses bra
Amen. Stress is a giant factor.
Money isn't stopping you from eating less and healthier, exercising more and controlling your sleep better - nothing of this is expensive and all is very beneficial to your health. He has said again and again that you don't have to follow everything that he does but these three simple steps are the most important in what he does.
May you live long and prosper. In jesus name! ❤️🔥🪽🕊️
he's crazy if he thinks human nature will ever change.a leopard doesn't change it's spots.that's just naive .but i do agree with him that you should take good care of yourself.

Blueprints (0) makes a 1?
Watching this as I am drinking a 6 pack😂
Lots of hate here, and it's sickening how people can look at this and say things like "oh, he's so horrible, this guy is disgusting, he needs Jesus, not child blood."
So allow me to say something here: Many of us are so much worse than this guy, and if we had all our actions revealed to us, we would be ashamed beyond shame. And I can only assume he got consent from his son about the transfusion thing.
This guy may be using an algorithm or pre-determined program to help improve his health, but he's also doing it with intention. Many religions say things along the lines of "don't sin," and yet people use the same excuse to justify sin. "Oh, you're not living if you don't sin a little, so eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die, and it will be well with us. But oh, I don't wanna be religious because then I gotta follow all these rules."
People, people, if you're so uptight about someone taking away their own free will, then maybe you should start interventions against drugs, alcohol, gambling, and EVERY OTHER KIND OF ADDICTION, that is objectively worse, as they also contribute to health problems, and mental problems. Plus, intolerances "remove" some of these choices anyway.
He can choose to stop at any time. But he's decided that he's not going to stop. Ever. And the best part: he's using the data he gets to help everyone else. So maybe instead of hating against this one rich guy that is helping humanity, we can focus that mental energy on something else, like how to improve our neighborhoods.
100% on the target with everything you said. One thing that is completely lost in the story is Bryan's son is the one who proposed the blood donation. When Bryan made the choice to donate blood to his father, Bryan's son wanted to participate as well. The whole nature of the idea was twisted by the media and the public. Bryan is the first and only public figure I've actually looked up to in a long time.
Fear. The answer is fear
Damnnnnnnn how much did he sell his company for?!
Oh, he only purchased and owned Venmo and eventually sold it for $800 million dollars.

Naw
This guy spends so much time trying not to die, that he doesn't really live
incorrect: he's clearly having fun doing all this. he's living a life where he does what he wants and has fun doing it: trying to hack death.
I think it depends on a person's definition of living. So if you think living is using your freedom to eat what you enjoy and to relax a lot, then yeah, he doesn't really live. But if you think, as he does, that expanding the outer limits of what's possible is really living, then you'll think he's really living. Also, this video has made me want to eat everything he can't and take 3 naps.
Love him, but he has already though played and won the "status game thing" by becoming so rich, so it's easy for him to opt out now for something else.

Not all humans will choose this lifestyle, not all, not ever.
Eat when you’re hungry…..drink when you’re thirsty….sleep when you’re tired….pretty much the fool proof algorithm.😊
...and make sure what you eat is actually FOOD.
I'm gonna take this, thanks.
But does he actually "live"? his obsession with health has deprived him of enjoying living. Paradoxically he'll outlive many and at the same time have no life while doing it.
Well do u still enjoy life while working full time.
Well enjoying something is subjective..maybe he's happy in doing what he like...which is to live a long healthy life.

Hahah lazy keyboard warrior spitting faks
He’s vegetarian which is my only gripe. He should go full grass fed organic beef and butter for a while (and pasture chickens and ).
Vegan, not vegetarian. And he's absolutely making the right choice based on both sound moral logic and reliable science. There is not one single argument against veganism that isn't intellectually dishonest. We've heard them all.
@@karmicbreath What about the one that says if a diet is the correct one for a species, it won't require supplements to prevent serious illness? Cause cheetahs, if you give them meat, are fine. But if you put them on vegetables, they have deficiencies. Same for humans. If you eat a vegan diet, you get deficiencies that have to be fixed with supplementation.
He does look pale and drawn to me, and many vegans do look that way, IMO. But stop with the grass fed beef and butter comments. I'm hungry and you're making me drool on the keyboard. I'm just curious, do you think the human diet is static? That it doesn't change over time. Surprise, it's been changing and shifting from the beginning. The meat you eat and how you eat it is lightyears from what the original homo sapiens were eating.
I've done the homework in youtube comments enough times that I'm not going to find and link all the studies like I usually do. But widespread systematic studies show that the more dependent a society is on meat, the more sick that society. And that a whole foods plant based diet is far and away the healthiest diet for the priorities of longevity, brain health, and resistance to diseases.
I will repeat, there is not one single argument against veganism that is logically sound or intellectually honest. Everything about your response screamed bad faith hostility.
In case you didn't take an introductory logic class in formal education, I will explain there are these things called fallacies. They are arguments people use that are not actually logical.
For example, I can easily ask you right now what your area of deep expertise is. Is it biology? Is it nutrition? Is it longevity science? Given how "pale" is evidence to you of unhealthy, I will guess that you are not a trained doctor or scientist. But to use this as an excuse to dismiss anything you say would not actually be logical.
So with that, let me spell it out for you. Appeal to nature and the behavior of animals is not logical. Nor is the appeal to ancestry, culture, the limited options of deserted islands, the hunting needs of indigenous tribes, or the unintentional deaths of land animals from growing plant crops (over 75% of which are produced to feed livestock.)
Again, to beat a dead horse, but there is ZERO logically sound argument that justifies participating in unnecessary harm and death towards sentient beings with the capacity for fear, pain, and trauma.
It's perfectly your right to reject this. Just know that if you do, we both know it's not because you are right to do so. It's because you have a cognitive dissonance and no amount of reason or truth will persuade you to do the right thing.

Brian for president
This guy will 100% die before he is 90
🤞
I think there's much worse things this guy could be doing. However, the way he's doing it comes across incredibly ableist, both physically, mentally, socially, and financially. He just sounds like a capitalist entrepeneur playboy.
Also, he's not vegan. How anyone can claim to be ultra-against violence whilst supporting animal suffering and death is beyond me. If he just claims non-violence in his action towards himself, then he's just self-interested.
Sir, I think your back is not straight. one of your shoulders sits lower than the other
But the ZERO thing is from a book
Ignorance of wisdom and spirit for the persuit of the physical; at its most extreme. It's great to take care of your health and promote it, but nobody will ever live forever and that's basic logic and ancient wisdom.
Didnt watch the video. Just wanted to comment that he looks older than the last time I saw him. Death is apart of life. He'll have to accept this one day
It seems he's just trying to live longer and healthier and wants being healthy to be a more normalized thing
Death has *been* a part of life. But many things in the past were part of life. Until they weren't. It's just like what he says in the vi...oh, right, you didn't watch it. 🤣It's about recognizing the limits of our understanding, and how the reality is, there can be so much more than just what we currently understand. Like, you know, the whole Pluto not being a planet thing. Or that some people were going to think no-one would mind if they stopped making Twinkies.
oh, Illusive Man
The zero ADHD guy
😂
He’s cute . Nice experience but ain’t anybody got time for this 😂😂 expect a bunch of rich people. Death is inevitable .
When this guy dies he’s gonna feel real silly
Says who? You?
@@evanstayuka381woooooosh
Well, he doesn't want to live forever. That's not his goal.
@@evanstayuka381it’s a joke brother, you can’t feel anything after you die
@@luisdelafuente8562 No proof of that. 🤣
Running away from religion, to get enslaved by Algorithms😂😂😂😂
One is based on literal logic. Other is based on fairy tales
"playing new games" in the future, huh?
definitely the misalignment of personal/physical expectations and exponential tech. advancements is worth inquiring!
This is some weird billionaire sh1t!
If all you want is imortallity just recontruct yourself to an ai. Life isnt about living its about how and what you do while dying
Meh..
He looks sick, lol.
You have a funny color to your skin from Veganism. Carnivore is the way. I look five years younger from just eating meat and fat
Dudes clearly on steroids.
My grandpa of 90, is younger than him.
