David Gilmour is the lead guitarist lead singer and he's playing a pedal steel guitar some call it a lap steel. If you want to see him play what most people call the greatest live guitar solo ever played do "Comfortably Numb" from the same 1994 Pulse concert!! Plus Pink Floyd is second To none when it comes to live performances which if you do Comfortably Numb you will likely agree!!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Pink Floyd - i was fortunate enough to be in the audience for this concert - i can’t believe it was 30 years ago this October!!! Truly one of the greatest experiences of my life . Check out Comfortably Numb from the same concert
I've been listening to Pink Floyd since the '60s. They are the AJ of progressive rock....that is, one of the best ever! Keep the reviews of both of them coming. I'm loving them!
Pink Floyd created outstanding music. You can react to any of their live performances. It is the best of the best and could be a life changing experience.
Don't ignore the background singers! Try Great Gig in the Sky from this same concert and you will get a feel for how incredibly talented every single musician on this stage truly was.
This PULSE concert (actually the “Division Bell” album tour, called ‘the PULSE Concert’ because the original CD had a red LED in the spine that flashed, or ‘pulsed’) is arguably among the greatest concert performances ever recorded. Broadly speaking, the PULSE concert versions of PF songs are often the best versions. I saw this tour with 70,000 of my closest friends at Sun Devil Stadium, and it was even better than it looks on video. And like many others have already done, I’ll point you toward the PULSE version of “Comfortably Numb”. It’s mind-bending, and unlike anything you’ve seen before. PULSE was truly a legendary concert tour. Thanks for reviewing this. Keep up the good work, brother!
You should definitely listen to "COMFORTABLY NUMB", from the live PULSE CONCERT, same concert as this... its a life changing experience alot of people will tell you
If you want, watch the whole Pink Floyd Pulse Concert, it will blow your mind! I saw the concert live in Foxboro MA in 1994! I'm 65 and been to many, many concerts over the years and this was the best and classiest one I've ever seen! God bless you and your family!
While I absolutely love this song as a Floyd fan, it would not have been my first choice for a new listener. Do yourself a favour and check out the others from this "Pulse concert" Sorrow Comfortably numb Run like hell One of these days In fact pretty much any of them. Personally, I'd start again with "Sorrow"
That was the Pulse tour in 1994 ! songs from different albums ! this one was from the album Division Bells ! It was their latest album at that time ! I went to see that show in Montreal at the Olympic Stadium ! was a great show indeed ! 😎
Pink Floyd was one of the most Legendary bands ever! They were formed in London in 1964 and have sold hundreds of millions of albums worldwide. They are considered one of the best Rock bands ever,... top 3 on many peoples list, fans and Rock Critics alike. Especially known for deep philosophical lyrics and elaborate live performances, with Light and Laser shows musically coordinated. Also, live shows that included giant flying pigs and airplanes crashing into the stage bursting into flames,.... but I digress,..... There's a rule Pink Floyd fans insist pn when listening to PF,... Never,... Ever,... EVER, pause or talk over a David Gilmour guitar solo, that includes Steel guitar solos' too. That's the instrument Gilmour is playing the song ending solo on, a "Steel Guitar". it's basically a guitar that sits on a person's lap and played with a Slide Bar, usually made of metal or glass. Other names for this instrument are, Lap Guitar, Lap Steel Guitar, and Pedal Steel Guitar, (if has pedals). Some Rock guitarists from back in the day would use a "Slide" on regular guitars held in the traditional way.
I too was at this concert aged 32 and I don't mind admitting that I had tears running down my face for most of the gig. You almost got the "dong" thing right. It's a gong. A dong is not something you should be hitting 😂. The instrument David gilmore was playing is a lap steel guitar. Def check out comfortably numb and great gig in the sky from the same concert. Your head will explode. As any Floyd fan will tell you, there's only one rule....never pause during a David gilmore guitar solo. This advice will save you a lot of hate comments mate. ✌❤🇬🇧
Hey brother Jah!! Hope allz good!! So many good Floyd songs to check(Time)-also anything from Boston's first album -for some good rock shit!! See you soon:)
🤗 Subbed for Pink Floyd ☺️ and maybe some Rush! 🤩 Pulse Tour was awesome. Long night cause Prince tickets went on sale at Madison Square Garden at Midnight 😳 which meant sleeping out for them if you wanted floor seats. 😁 And I made it to work at 9am 🙄 (still in the same clothes cause I wasn't supposed to be at Pulse in the Meadowlands in NJ) 🤷🏿♀️ but Tony had a fight with his girlfriend so ...... 🤭😏🥰🐰
All their songs are different, even on 3 of the best ever progressive albums ......and when a fan hears a Floyd song for the first time, they instantly know it is Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd is mostly best live, but their records are also brilliant. Recommend you do the recorded version of Time and The Great Gig In The Sky together as one song ... ...from either the vinyl or original CD. I promise you..... .unless you are made of stone, the lyrics of the Great Gig will turn you inside out. Oh......The Great Gig is really the end of your own personal Time.
great reaction, there you should react to COMFORTABLY NUMB from the pulse concert, it has the best guitar solo of all time in my opinion, you should also try SORROW, ON THE TURNING AWAY, HIGH HOPES, im sure that you will enjoy them all
First rule of Floyd club. You do not interrupt a David Gilmour solo! Second rule of Floyd club. You do not interrupt a David Gilmour solo! Ok so you get a pass if it's your first time, but seriously it's actually a crime in some countries 🎸🤯🤟

That beautiful lap steel guitar by David is so hauntingly beautiful....so damn good!

No "perhaps" about it.
Comfortably Numb from this concert eclipses all.

Gilmour was playing his (red) Jedson lap steel guitar.

The strange instrument is a lap guitar, you should check out other tracks from Pulse 1994, probably "Comfortably Numb" to start with.

Lap steel. American country artists used to use the glass from a long a broken long neck beer bottle to use that as the slide on their finger.
Comfortably numb live in Pompeii 👍
Next: comfortably numb! Or: Keep talking!

Good reaction,, except you interrupted a David Gilmore solo twice......
Why do you have a hashtag for metallica in your description?
New to Pink Floyd? Please learn not to interrupt a Gilmore solo. Other than that, great reaction.
Another person pausing Gilmour solo.
Oh God🙄
