I saw Pink Floyd in 1977 outdoors Soldier Field Chicago. Again outdoor a few years later Milwaukee County Stadium. Then indoors sixteen row center at Rosemont Horizon around 1987. Also saw Roger Waters at Rosemont Horizon about 1984 when Eric Clapton was playing in his band. Their live performances were an amazing experience.
David Gilmour is one of the best of all time, on a short list for sure. He's not known as a shredder, and a lot of folks downplay his skills as a result, but he can play fast when he wants to. But his style is all about tone and fitting the guitar to the song. Plus he's the GOAT for string bending, he can hit the note he's bending to precisely, without error, every time. Nobody else can do that the way he can.
Happy you found Pink Floyd, you have so much great music to hear. Check out the songs Coming Back to Life, Keep Talking, Wearing the Inside Out, Great Gig In The Sky. All great among the rest of their other songs . David Gilmour is a guitar master . They are that good.
My uncle loved Pink Floyd when he grew up in the 70’s, I was born in 1979 and discovered Pink Floyd in my early 20’s. My son is born in 2009 and Comfortably Numb and Shine On You Crazy Diamond as his favourite songs. That’s 3 generations of fans. And also there are many reaction videos from people who have just discovered Pink Floyd and I want to congratulate you all on discovering one the world of Pink Floyd because it enriches your lives. Thank you for great reaction videos. I’m always happy to see people fall in love with Pink Floyd. Suggestion for you: Shine On You Crazy Diamond from the same PULSE live album.
Agree for sure but wait until she sees them early on in Pompeii, making cosmic music to the lost souls from 2,000 years ago. Floyd is such a large rabbit hole, she is being sucked in and will discover new gems for many years!
Agree for sure but wait until she sees them early on in Pompeii, making cosmic music to the lost souls from 2,000 years ago. Floyd is such a large rabbit hole, she is being sucked in and will discover new gems for many years!
Ti ricordo VENEZIA VERSAILLES ti ricordo che i FLOYD i concerti migliori li hanno dal 70 e gli anni 80 con tecnologie futuristiche 45 anni fa vedi il tour di THE WALL
If you liked the ladies doing the background vocals, check out GREAT GIG IN THE SKY from the Pulse Concert. The ladies handle ALL of the vocals in this song.
yes, the voice are of course important and amazing. But the movements ans synconisity during the whole show are outstanding, too I think. And I´m always impressed about the three when I see it.
I had the incredible fortune of listening to this song "live" at the Verona arena in 2016 performed by David Gilmour (Pink Floyd guitarist) and I can assure you that both the seats in the arena and my face were shaking... it's it was absurd! I was kind of dazed, beautiful.
That opening guitar intro is amazing, David Gilmour is as good as it gets. Great song with real meaning, they hit the mark always. A shout out to the ensemble that helps them make utter magic on stage. Now my dear, time to see them in their prime and view them doing Echoes, Live at Pompeii 1972 but make sure you do Parts 1 and 2 to get the full song, it opened and closed the documentary concert film. You will see them in their 20s and getting set to conquer the world. Amazing concert in the ancient Roman Amphitheater. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
It warms my heart to see that younger people appreciate there amazing talent . Talent like there's is timeless and it's awesome knowing they will still be appreciated for it a hundred years from now. fads come and go in music but real talent is timeless.
Great reaction! I do believe you have been Floyded! It happened to me over 50 years ago and still never get tired of listening to them. Have seen them many times live, Pulse concert twice, it was amazing!! They were genius musicians with an insane amount of talent. David Gilmour is a legend who plays with his soul! They are in a class all by themselves!
Hello, hopefully you read this message. I find your reactions very beautiful and pleasing. I was one of the lucky ones who went to see this concert live back in 1994 in Basel, Switzerland (twice) on August 5 and 6. NO CONCERT has ever being able to match Pulse. I suggest you look at the concert from start to finish (or reacting song by song) in order. That way you will see the development of the stage and the aura that sets over the audience. Your life will never be the same. That concert changed my life in a very good way. Marc Brickman was the lighting creator for this tour. It has been the only time in history that a stage and light designer has received literally a blank check to create something. In today's DNA we have lost the musicality that reign 30 years ago and that is why performances like the entire Pulse tour are still relevant and super important in today's daily life. Please let me know if you read this message. Thank you, Mario Sorani
When I was a teenager we used to go to Pink Floyd laser shows you would listen to Pink Floyd and arch these laser in tune with the music. The 70s were crazy cool when it came to eat music and real instruments. Love your channel sweetie keep up the great work and god bless.
Thank you for reacting to this song! You can’t go wrong with anything from ‘Pulse’ but ‘Coming Back to Life’, ‘Keep Talking’ or ‘Shine on Crazy Diamond’ would be my suggestions. Enjoy the journey!
Hard to go wrong with Pink Floyd! Their live performances are always top shelf. Live Floyd, with few exceptions, is the way to go. Two songs come to mind that are best on the album version, "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" and "Mother". You should give them a listen. Great reaction to my all time favorite band. Just no other like them.
One of the extraordinary things about this Pink Floyd 1994, "The Division Bell World Tour, is the massiveness of the tour itself. Pink Floyd was always distinguished for their elaborate live performances, and this Pulse Concert at Earls Court in London, in October of 1994 was no exception It is one of the last few shows of the 1994 "The Division Bell" Tour. Everything you see onstage, including the lighting, lasers, sound system and the whole stage itself, was owned by Pink Floyd, and there were 3 identical stages, they needed 3 stages because of the time it took to setup and tear down each stage and all the equipment. It took 3 days to set up everything, (load-in) and 2.5 to tear it all down, load-out. Since the Tour ran from March to October, and was like 117 concerts, in 68 cities, in 17 countries, they absolutely needed 3 stages. The stages, modeled after the Hollywood Bowl, leapfrogged across North America and Europe in 1994, so when the band got to the next city of the Tour, everything was all ready to go. It was the largest tour ever to that point, and a massive logistic coordination.
I was at both the pulse concerts in 1994, at Earls court. The music and the lights created an atmosphere that changed me. I have been a PF superfan ever since
This is such a powerful, beautiful song. The entire band was just cooking, and Dave pours his soul out through that guitar. If you like this, you'll like One Of These Days from the same concert. Almost no lyrics, but equally as powerful. Great reaction, as always!
I've been a fan of them since 1981, I was 11 years old. I was fortunate enough to see them live when this album came out. Beautiful music, soul touching.
As you already mentioned the talented background ladies, I suggest you go for "The great gig in the sky" from this concert. Originally it's from the album "Dark side of the moon", sung by Clare Torry, who needed just two takes to sing it (because she wasn't happy with the first one, although all members of PF already couldn't find any flaw on the first take). Funny, how the lightshow still impresses people, as this is almost 30 years old now, and many techniques have been adopted by other bands. Imagine, how it was back then. We literally felt, a spaceship was coming to town.
One of my favourites, and one I'm glad to have witnessed live (twice) - not from Pink Floyd, but from David Gilmour's solo concerts. The bass on that intro literally shakes the whole venue.
Love your Pink Floyd reactions! Rick Wright (RIP) is my favorite keyboardist also. He was so incredible, along with David and Nick. If you want to see them young (and gorgeous), you should do "Echoes live at Pompeii, 1971." Also "Echoes live in Gdansk, 2006", the last time with Rick.
Great reaction to an intense song. Another like it from this concert is "One of These Days"; "Run Like Hell," which was the encore for the concert, is great too! Thank you for sticking with PF!
I totally agree: the whole Pulse concert is incredible. I watch the DVD a few times a year! Probably the best rock concert in history. I suggest you also react to "On the turning away" (live version). But (for me) their crowning achievement as recording artists is "Shine on you crazy diamond (parts 1-5) - the studio version.
I am so happy you have had the pleasure of. Experiencing Floyd you will continue on a mamouth spiritual journey where the music will lay deep within your soul ❤
Even David's wife says that he can communicate better with his guitar than with words 🙂 If you want to go through the rest of Pulse (and you should!) then you might as well start at the beginning, with Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Always pick the 'restored & re-edited' versions for the best quality. I do advise you to install an adblocker 🙂
Well, you are friggin awesome because it seems you’ve taken some good advice as to the first three songs that would have the most impact on your beginning journey into Floyd mania. And by now, as mentioned, there should be no doubt that you are addicted for life and the coolest part is, there is so much more music from them in front of you. I would like to make one more suggestion that I think would be extremely influential as well. The name of the song is. Keep talking. Look for this the better choice is going to be the studio version instead of the live version because the studio version has Stephen Hawkins in it and has an amazing sound and again I assure you it will be well worth your time so far you have been spot on With your choice of reactions and this one will also not disappoint. Will be looking forward to your future reactions. Floyd forever. ❤
I haven’t seen anyone comment yet on the fact that Pink Floyd is probably the most famous ALBUM band, in the sense that, at least starting with Meddle in 1971, their albums were meant to be listened to as a whole, complete experience. They have a central theme, and often songs fade into the the next one, with no break. Their album, Dark Side of the Moon, released in 1973, holds the record for most weeks on the Billboard Charts……917 weeks………about 18 years! I would suggest going through Dark Side, track by track (unless you can do the whole album as a reaction, but that’s usually reserved for Patreon or Ko-Fi) and then once you’ve listened to each track….listen to the entire album, uninterrupted…..for yourself.
Comfortly Numb is a given classic. This song is pure passion. Gilmour at his best. But he's always at his best. He plays the blues, and that's what most metal bands lack. Rock is blues with lots of pedal. Without soul, it's just noise. Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck and David Gilmour pioneered this sound, the sound that Metal was built on.
And one day, when you have reacted to all the songs you are going to react on their "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Wall" album... you need to sit down, with headphones and listen to the entire album all the way through without interruptions. the way they string their songs together adds to the story!
So many great songs to choose from. I urge you to dive into the history of Pink Floyd. Which ones Pink is a great documentary. I actually saw this concert in Denver from this tour. Definitely a bucket list experience!
If you like the keyboardist (Richard) then, as others have suggested, you should watch 'Echoes' (both parts). David won't perform that song without Richard who unfortunately has passed away. So it's a piece of magic never to be seen again.
You know, Olavity, although Pink Floyd is no more, there are some outstanding tribute bands touring the world. Perhaps the most highly regarded is the Australian Pink Floyd tribute band. They have light shows etc. if they come to a place near you, I would urge you to attend.
Don't bypass "Time" by Pink Floyd. For this one only, I suggest the studio version because Alan Parsons did such an amazing job of putting it together. I was about your age when I first heard it and it made me deeply ponder my life's direction. It applies to all of us.
Guy Pratt has some great bass fills in there as well. I think I recall him saying that most of this was Tony Levins' bass parts from Momentary Lapse Of Reason, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure some of the fills will have been Guy's....
Hey, please watch 'The Great Gig in The Sky' from the same concert... That one can make anyone cry! Ooosh, welcome to the world of Pink Floyd. I was there, btw. 😊
Please check out "Shine On You Crazy 1-5" by Floyd next. Highly recommend doing the studio version first. I think you'll be impressed. Love your reaction! 👍
Pink floyd was one of the best bands on the planet. But if you like a fun band to look at check out Status Que roadhouse Medley full version - Live Alive Quo HD.Status Quo are a British rock band. The group originated in London and was founded in 1962.Thank you young lady.
Hello Beautiful Ola. Great reaction to Pink Floyd but if you want a change of pace check out Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale, live in Denmark 2006. It probably has a hundred million views and since the lead singer passed away just a few years ago it is a great tribute. This is the band doing a live version of their 1967 hit but now including an orchestra and choir. Most people find it quite an experience and I think you would enjoy it as well.
They were not a band who would interact with the crow but we're perfect on playing great music and light show. They are not together but have a cover band that plays sounds jest as good.
Next: "On the turning away" .. trust me!
"LIVE"
👌By A DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER (1988)
For sure this has to be next. This might even end up being your favorite so far. It's very powerful and a great message.
exact ! try on the Turning away from delicate sound of tunder show
And after that“Time“👌😎😉
David Gilmour, the greatest guitarist who ever swung an axe. This really is the perfect example of a true master at work.
David Gilmore, Jimmy page and slash
Amen
All guitarists plug their guitars into an amplifier but David plugs his guitar directly into his soul.
Agreed.
You need to listen to the whole concert, it's the GOAT of all concerts 😊
And I was there 😍
@@TerryMark-tz4zb ando who cares!
Run Like Hell from this same concert is another must see. Loving your reactions to Pink Floyd
Yeah a dark side of the moon song.
That live version is in the Guinness book of records , can ya guess why ?
@@teknotonyI had no idea wow
There is a silence that speaks so much louder than words of promises broken…
David Gilmour, Echoes Live in Gdansk is a must hear. David on guitar and Rick on keyboard like never before!
Thanks to reacting to Pink Floyd! You're amazing
My three favorite guitar solos are all from the Pulse concert - "Time," "Sorrow," & "Comfortably Numb."
Next up The Great Gig In The Sky from same concert ✌🏼❤️
and after that the studio version of The Great Gig in the Sky with the voacals by session singer Clare Torry.

The best audio experience a pair of ears could ever have.
He is definitely a gentleman. An absolute legend. I can listen to him, talk Forever . One hell of A.

You nailed it. This is the best concert ever. No one compares to this. They were at their pinnacle on this one. All of them flawless
I love watching his backup singers/dancers thru this one in particular.
the bee gees and pink floyd...my two favourites bands, enormous bands, huge music groups with, MILLIONS, AND MILLIONS of fans each one of them

Shine On You Crazy Diamond from the same PULSE live album.
Still their greatest live performance, Pulse is topped it al. And David Gilmour playing guitar, man.........., and his voice is also great.
Agree for sure but wait until she sees them early on in Pompeii, making cosmic music to the lost souls from 2,000 years ago. Floyd is such a large rabbit hole, she is being sucked in and will discover new gems for many years!

Yes, he makes love to guitar every song. If you look real close you can see his guitar smoking a cigarette in between songs.

yes, the voice are of course important and amazing. But the movements ans synconisity during the whole show are outstanding, too I think. And I´m always impressed about the three when I see it.
I think the original is more moving than the pulse concert. Just my opinion.
"On the turning away" 👍
I swear, David Gilmore can play one note and you know that it's him!
I had the incredible fortune of listening to this song "live" at the Verona arena in 2016 performed by David Gilmour (Pink Floyd guitarist) and I can assure you that both the seats in the arena and my face were shaking... it's it was absurd! I was kind of dazed, beautiful.

NEXT...ON THE TURNING AWAY Live 1988 DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER👍👍👍🇧🇷
They were not a band who would interact with the crow but we're perfect on playing great music and light show.
They are not together but have a cover band that plays sounds jest as good.
On the turning away
Enjoy your Pink Floyd experience !
