I don’t have any (yet) and i already have names for 3 leopard geckos and 1 name for a crested gecko that i don’t even have yet. My mom say i can have one (maybe) in a few years but my dad says no so well see. I really want to get one when i’m younger then when i live alone for a better experience but i may not be able to get one around my parents due to us being cat people and my mom worried that i will hurt it because there gecko’s. My mom also said if we do get one we will only get a leopard gecko because crested gecko’s are too much work and room. But yea, i really want 4 geckos.

I started with 1 leopard gecko when I first moved out of ky parents house. A year later I got a 2nd leopard gecko, and a year after that I got a 3rd.
Surprisingly after that,, that satisfied me for about 3 years. Then I got my 1st snake. Almost 2 yrs later I now have 8 snakes.
Jesus loves u all. Jesus died on the cross and three days later He rose. and so when you put your trust that He died for your sins, you will be saved, put your full faith into Him, not your workss

My Crestie doesn't care what I do I come pick him/her up and it's just like 'oh so we r doing this now....ok' then just acts like he would In his tank. I just think of myself as a heated tree😂😂

TheAngieIshmael mines jumps onto my bed when we r sitting there but this isn't very often. Apart from that it's quite chill with me. It's been like that since the day it came home

Mine just crawls all over me and does not care. I’m might be getting a leopard gecko because one of my crested geckos passed away because it was sick.:(
I got my leopard gecko from petco (back when I didn't know any better) but luckily he's extremely healthy and going on 4 years old and the sweetest little guy!
Brittney Morgan my snowy is from petsmart, and he's healthy I've had him since April, but he's a little on the small side I think. That's really all that is wrong with him. I ordered a female from a breeder though so well see

Yeah mine is about 6 inches and I've been trying to fatten him up a bit cause he looks a bit thin but not to an unhealthy extent
Brittney Morgan I got my leo from petco a couple months ago(knew better but made eye contact with him and literally couldn't leave him) and he's a pretty big boy(from what I can tell) but when I got him since they weren't supplementing him he had liquidy poops, luckily a few days of dusted crickets fixed him and he didn't need a vet visit, he's a crazy little guy, even now that he's tamed, quite vocal too, loves to give me a heart attack by almost walking off ledges when I leave him for a second to grab something.

I am in love with all your geckos. I stumbled on to your channel while researching before I purchased my first crestie. I now own 2 cresties and dream of owning many more different species 💜 You are so sweet to your all your babies. Their temperaments definitely reflect the great care you strive to give them. 👍
aww thank you Becky :D oo that's cool, yeah you can never stop at one reptile, you'll always end up with more, and I find the new caledonian geckos all seem very sweet and docile - maybe the leachies are a little fiesty haha but they're a great group of geckos to explore :)

ye hahah no unfortunately not! However I have ended up with two Amazon milk frogs, a ball python and a plethora of tarantulas! My original statement may have aged too well :)

I just want to say thank you for telling new or inexperienced leopard gecko owners the correct information and also what a gecko needs. I have done a lot of research and stumbled upon your channel while doing so! I plan on owning one this weekend and thanks to you I know almost everything about them. I was actually going to get sand as a substrate until I saw one of your videos about it. I was also considering on getting a heat lamp that was at very low lighting (red) and you made a video about how heat lamps can harm them! Thanks again! I'm obsessed with your channel and adorable geckos 🦎

my leos vivarium is next to my gaming setup so at about 7pm (which is when i usually handle him) he comes out of his cave and looks at me like "R U GONNA PLAY WITH ME!?????!!"

The way you describe your chahoua's behavior is exactly the way my crested gecko Swampy is, he is so unpredictable, once he jumped onto the floor with no warning, I almost lost him behind a desk another time.
yeah they can be quick when they want to be. I find both types of geckos are even quicker the darker it is. For example if i just have a lamp on in my room rather than my big light, the geckos are even quicker :')

I love my crusty boy. He's approximately a year old and still on the skinny side because I got him from petco and my heart ached for how miserable he looked I just had to save him. Thankfully he's in a nice vertical 20Long now, it's coming out of quarantine mode this weekend because I'm going to an expo and I can't wait to get him all sorts of new fun things to explore! And possibly even a bigger tank :) I'm definitely going to look into cricket and worm setups at the expo because I just want the best for my child

Love your geckos! They are so cute! My leopard gecko is funny since she loves jumping. I handle her carefully and don't scare her, but she just loves jumping (even if I'm not handling her) sometimes she jumps from my hand up to my shoulders (she likes sitting there😄)

A great channel. One of the few very articulate & concise ones on Reptile care options. Lots are sensationalist (watch how I film my snake killing things, or watch how I keep hundreds of reptiles in a drawer, OR watch me pout through a video selfie about reptiles ). I prefer your channel, and Jensen’s reptiles, and goherping, and gotta love carpet pythons. That’s enough to give me information about proper care.

Great video, I have both crested and leopard geckos and they are so fun to handle! My one crested gecko can be moody at times though and squeaks at me when she wants to be alone though lol. The ending was funny too btwXD

I got my leopard gecko at Pet Smart. I knew that they usually didn't take good care of their animals, but this one was pretty good. Especially with having perfect supplementing and advising people to avoid sand.

My second Leo is coming tomorrow, it's supposed to be a high color morph female and I'm super excited! My other one is a snow morph male, and I just love him to pieces! Thanks for all your advice you've really helped me not be so freaked out about how I'm caring for them.
Candy_lynn and Things No clue what my little guy is but he's an extremely vibrant yellow with spots going down his back in little clumps with spots all over his tail and some gray coloring on it that almost looks blue in some lighting, with little white freckly feet. Stunning blue-grey eyes too, precious little bugger.

Sahyu, despite being a Leo, seems to have more in common with a Chahoua. She is SO HYPER! I actually had to give in and get her a jungle gym in her tank since she kept trying to climb the plants and glass like a silly little doodle (her tank temps are fine and it is a 20g Long). She is a lot happier now. Now she has higher places to stare at things creepily. I'm like 80% certain at this point she has at least mild Enigma Syndrome.
aww haha seems pretty hyper, could be enigma syndrome, shame there's not really an official test for it.
I finally have some good news about Sahyu's eating. I went to the vivarium to get some dubias for her to eat in case the crickets were just blowing her mind with their leaps. I talked to one of the workers about my suspicions of Enigma Syndrome and she immediately suggested hand feeding. Since her aim is full of fail and I know how her bites feel from her biting my toe for some odd reason while we were hanging out watching UA-cam, I'd rather not get nomed by accident. At the same time, I worried that the metal tongs would hurt her mouth. So I now have bamboo tongs. It worked beautifully. She ate them ravenously and we didn't really have issues with her missing either. I think I cried a little and even feel tears right now thinking about it. I don't mind that I have to tong feed her. More bonding time after all! Also, there was a doggy nutrient gel that they apparently use for their lizards that works, so I will try that out too if she gets fussy again. Hopefully not anytime soon.
And the final update on Sahyu is that she is no longer a baldy. Spots have appeared on her precious forehead. I guess some angels kissed her. XD

Leopard Gecko Hey a quick question, im getting a leopard gecko and i don't know what substrate to use, i really want to use eco earth but bricks sound complicated, can i just get the bags and put it on the tank?
Omg I remembered when she mentioned "leopard geckos have the ability to jump, but don't do so", a few days ago my leopard gecko was chilling on my leg, my mom was sitting next to me and she's not a fan of reptiles so I was like "he's coming for you", and he jumped on her.. it was pretty funny XD
Funny story, I gave a friend permission to Handle Dorado, Told her the do's and do not's, and when she did, Dorado took off like a Lightning Bolt up to the collar of my friend's sweatshirt. I have NEVER seen him run like that!
PS: No, We got Dorado under control before she could dive into my friend's shirt.

In my experience it's been like this: Leopard gecko-Jumps as much as possible even when relaxed, very vocal compared to most, hates everyone yet is very clingy to me.
Crested gecko-Despite being only a couple weeks old when receiving the gecko, is very clam, laid back, tends to prefer crawling places over jumping, not as clinging and just likes to chill on your hand for a while, sometimes comes when called.

Good to know that even tame crested geckos poop on you, I got an adult one from a family friend who didn't have time for him anymore and I thought he hated me because he poops on me almost every time I hold him!
Yes, I am VERY aware of the jumping. When I handle mine I prefer to crouch, so that if they jump they won't get hurt too bad. I have had mine jump once or twice. And she hauled butt.
Hahaha that's what I said. I'll only get one reptile. I wasn't even going to get reptiles because they were never my thing. But I got a crested gecko a few month ago and now I've already decided that when I can and have my own place I'll get a leopard gecko as well :D
My leopard gecko is a rock-solid NYC gecko, a true city gecko. Nothing spooks him. ;)

My Nan's dog is scared of my leo. She's a super giant and once just linger forward and attacked the dog. She actually bit him and cut him with her teeth but he was ok. He just goes and hides under the table whenever I have her out now though...

When I first got my leopard gecko I thought she was going to be very scared of me, but she wasn’t! She actually first started to avoid my hand but after a few days she was used to it. I would take her out and let her explore on my bed, she loves to crawl on my giant teddy bear and go under its arm. Her favorite spot to go to is around my neck or hand. I think I’m doing a good job for my first reptile and I’m getting a ball python soon!! Can’t wait 😊!

My leopard gecko is fine when you handle her, a bit fast but manageable. It's when you try and touch her back (like gently pet her with your finger) she's like nope and starts to speed up. Other than not being able to give her little pets she's pretty chill, likes to go on my shoulder a lot

One of my leos is a jumper! She can easily jump a 30 cm length. Freaked me the hell out the first time haha. My second has never ever jumped anywhere.

The only time I have ever seen my crestie aggressive was when I first got him and he was really stressed, he had been left in a small cold box all day because of the previous owner and put in a brand new home. He thrashed and got some dirt in his mouth but after a couple hours calmed down and has been lovely ever since. He's even taken up singing to me lol
aww, well good it was just the first time, sounds like he settled in nicely after that :)
Once when I was about 8, I really wanted a crested gecko. (I didn't know anything about them, so I am kind of glad this happened). So my parents and I went to Petco and got an employee's attention. They took of the gecko and let me handle it. The problem was that they were pinning down the tail, and so when the little crestie went to jump at me, the tail fell off. Of course, tails wiggle once detached, and scared the living daylights out of me. The employee threw the tail into the cage and put the lizard in too. She called somebody to help, whilst my parents tried to calm me down in the corner. So of course, I didn't get a gecko. I still don't have one, but that is because I cannot afford one at the time being. Though when I do get one, I will always be afraid of the tail falling off, this time because of something I did wrong. Good video by the way, even though I am half a year late. :)
Lilly Ski if you visit a local reptile expo, there will likely be breeders offering ‘frog butt’ cresties who’ve already lost their tails and won’t regrow them. It’s impossible to lose a tail if you don’t have one!
My juvenile leo Brahms is such a little nugget now. He climbs up my hand every time I open his tank. He won’t eat until we have cuddle time together

Know if any sellers that ship to Portugal? Third, i REALLY love your insta gecko pics. Those close up pics look so SO good. What do you use to take those pics. aw thank you :) have you looked on amazon or ebay for eco earth? I'm not really sure where else to look, as im not familiar with online shops in Portugal. thank you, most of my pics are taken on my phone, sometimes for really close up pics I use a little macro lens add on to my phone, they're usually like a £2-£3 on ebay haha :)
