I have a male chahoua too. His name is Yamori and he will be 2 years old in July. Like Drogo he also hides when he is sleeping. I have a crestie and a gargoyle as well, but my chahoua is the one that is the most personable. As soon as he wakes up he stands in front of the door or he jumps on the glass to catch my attention, because he wants to sit on my chest

Aww that's really sweet! :) At night Drogo spends more time at the front of the tank, and sometimes I just hope the door and he sits and watches me, probably planning his escape 😂

Leopard Gecko not really we’ve seen both but it seems age plays a big factor the cheaper ones are little little babies like 20-30 grams or less.
Drogo looks sooo cool and so cute. He looks exotic.
Recently got a baby chahoua, mine behaves very very similarly, though isn't as adverse to walking around while it's light. He/she doesn't even bother hiding to sleep, just right at the front of the tank, upside down, on the ground, pretty much just, I'm sleepy, I'll sleep right where I am. But is also fairly skittish when first picking up to handle, but calms down pretty quickly, until like yours, he/she decides its time for jumpy zooms.
Aw yeah when I first got Drogo he used to sleep out in the open on his stick/log lol

Bro my mossy gecko is a savage, mad active at night and he's fast af when I handle him sometimes. he's a beast. Love watching him crunch on crickets too

I just got my chewie a few weeks ago. He only seemed to take a day or two to get comfortable around me and not hide when I came around. He’s always watching me and actually approaches me when I’m maintaining his cage. By far my favorite lizard I’ve ever owned

I have a female chahoua named Kasiah she comes running to the front of her enclosure to be held and if I don't come for right away she watches me. And waits for me to come get her. And loves to be out just sitting on my shoulder or my bed. And really loves sitting in my hand and watching me take care of all the other reptiles and amphibians. She has such a fun personality! I Love her dearly!!!!

Just got mine yesterday, he’s more energetic than I expected and the favorite thing he likes to do is to go from one side the cage to the other.
I’m talking about a leopard gecko, sorry.
My corn snake is a lot like Drogo, even down to hanging out by the front glass panels at night. Caught her many times squeezed up against the glass, or stretching to the ceiling. I've heard corn snakes are supposed to be very inquisitive but I never confirmed it, my lil girl is for sure though! If given the chance she'll escape from being handled, but once she's up she's all calm and going slow.
I first heard about chahouas in one of your first videos of Drogo, when you first got him. I thought that if I ever decide to get a lizard or gecko, I'd like to get a chahoua. But, since corn snakes only share some of the needs that one of those reptiles would have, I think I'd rather get a leopard gecko as my first gecko, just to get used to the routine and taking care of them. Can't afford it and don't have the time right now, but sometime perhaps

I have been thinking about it, may be interesting, I just have to keep my phone on and record it all, so would have to be in the evening rather than through the night.

I’ve had a Leopard Gecko, named it Russell but I want to be able to get comfortable with it, I don’t know it’s gender because I got it when I was 8 I am 14 now but I would like to get it out of the cage and interact with it more, the past years I have tried but it gets very scared and also doesn’t eat a lot when I try to feed, basically what I’m asking is how to tell it’s gender and also better ways to get a better relationship with your Leopard gecko if anyone knows
As for the gender I don’t really know, but Leopard Gecko Talk has made videos on how to tame your gecko, and how to bond! 😁
I got TWO chahoua for £150!!! 2 juveniles. My first geckos. I’m usually a snake guy but I tell you these wee things are awesome. They have so much character. I love em to bits.
The poor yanks are paying $600-1500 for chahoua and that’s just normal mainlands.pine islands and ones with unusual colours are even more than that. It’s usually the other way round. It’s usually the yanks getting stuff a lot cheaper than we do so it feels good to turn the tables on em for once.😂
Some people say having that many reptiles is hoarding. I say it’s a hobby.

I can be but it isn't the number that matters it's just being able to give all your pets attention every day and its only hoarding if you have too many to do that
It depends, like if you have 10 geckos, that probably easier to care for than 10 dogs, lol. I have 6 geckos and that's always felt like a good amount, whereas some people will have like 20+

First night he ate Repashy mix. Gave crickets and 3 mealworms last night. He massacred the 3 crickets. Shook them like a cat does , flinging parts everywhere. So cool.

Underneath my 20g I have a small crack and I need to install my heat mat but I don’t want it to crack more.Can I just place the heat mat far away from the crack?also just to give you an idea of the dive of the crack if you were to flip the tank over and look for the crack it would take at least 3 mins

Question!!! I'm a first time owner and I've had my gecko for a week now, been keeping paper towels as her bedding but I really want to give her something more natural. All I have is soft non-splintered mulch and regular soil from the store. They both have miracle grow in them and I can't find anything explaining if thats bad for them or not. Do you think it would be safe to use?
Question the cleanup crew in your Chahoua terrarium do they ever get out of the terrarium and do you ever have a problem with them in the house?
