ls players: "sometimes foresight slash is not good enough, it can't dodge all multi hit attacks."
GS players: "that attack move me by an entire 5cm. that's broken, i can use it to dodge about everything."
It do be like that
Leaping Wide Slash is just a Pseudo-Fade Slash
@@Blinky111 nah, it's a fade slash for better players :P
@@Blinky111fun fact, that movement has the highest elemental attack mv of all weapons.
@@Blasteronefr hey blasterone, how do you make the glav double tail tcs opening more consistent? i seem to only not get hit about 20% of the time, i dont know what im doing wrong
GS mains are the true foresight user
ua-cam.com/video/YUCs2-y5HtY/v-deo.html, check this foresight GS style 🔥
Awesome video my squad leader used nothing but a great sword and he was one of the best in our squad. I salute anyone who’s good at the great sword but I am more of a fast pace fighter. I’m too impatient with the great sword so I’ll stick with a hammer and switch axe but I welcome anyone who is good with it to a hunt
Been a GS main since MH1.
And I can tell you that it’s one of the easiest weapons to pick up, but the hardest to master.
switch axe and charge blade user here we just dont want simple weapons do we?
@@agssilv5919 everybody has their taste.
@@romanhorizon bonk bros 🔨🔨🔨
@@bobbybigfellow8516 hammer is hella fun ngl.
*Bonk to win*
I am convinced of one thing, which is that your memory for memorizing monster movements is very good
Which shows how good you are at the game
I’ve got hundreds of hours in Monster Hunter World and almost all of it is with the greatsword. Slow but powerful. Love it.
You really did man, I'm new to MH and I know everyone says GS is one of the hardest weapons to master; but thanks to your videos I've learned so many different cancels and setups. TY for posting these.
Some of these hits are so beautifully timed I feel like you earned and instant kill on those monsters.
Amazing!!
I'm currently doing a GS playthrough. Landing those true charges is SO satisfying 😀
That first tcs with the GS was insane I used to love GS but since picking up the charge blade I havnt touched it, maybe I’ll go back to it once in a while.
if a player who hasn't played the game before watches this, yeah he might be convinced. Anyone who has played a few hours of the game will know how much commitment and repetition the GS takes in MHW, I started off with it and right after HR ended I hit a massive wall and switched to hammer. I don't regret the decision personally. The one thing that Rise made right in my opinion is making GS more approachable and less frustrating, especially after the expansion came out.
It's the sound of tcs that makes me pick gs every time. No problem doing MR with it for me.
Gs is about mastering the aspects of the game, not just the weapon itselfs. You need a lot of information to properly used greatsword such as the environment, the slinger that drops, the positioning, the timing, and most importantly how the monster moves
genuinely the best MHW clips video i've ever seen, this shit was actually insane. well done
goddamn that's unbelievable. you got it down to the pixel. I remember the MHFU days where all GS hits are to the head, especially against Fatalis. good job bro.
Been a GS main since MH Freedom Unite. Just came to witness greatness
Wise gs master. Thank you for sharing your skills. Hope to see you out there in the hunts
Im a 1000+ hour GS main and i watched a lot of GS user, but man you are on another level.
Really great video.
Thanks ^^
4:05 this no look on teostra was pretty sick
Excellent gameplay, subscribed
You sir earned a subscribe. Awesome stuff
You really make it look easy 😂 your knowledge is insane and timing and positions
I thought I was slick enough to dodge roll Teo's supernova and immediately TCS its head afterwards. I can only dream to do what you did in this video. That was sick!
This look incredibly impossible to do regularly yet here you are doing it consistently over and over again, im sharing this masterpiece
Its videos like these that got me into MHW and the absolute control and game knoledge some people have to pull off these moves, its just simply eye candy for me lol
Thanks a lot!
Good work brother as a fellow great sword man this video was nice to watch.I might do a new play through world again using Longsword only to change things up
That's fricken amazing dude
Awesome job!
GS is one of my favorite weapons to use outside of Dual Blades and Lance.
The feeling of smashing something's skull in with the skull of another animal taped to a stick is satisfying to me.
this is some nice video/music edit, can't stop thinking of how many times you had to fail and how hard it is to master such a weapon
GS is the best all around weapon, highest damage per hit along with the ability to tackle and block, it's easy to use and do good with, but it takes a special kind of hunter, one with forthsight and impeccable timing to be able to use the GS to it's fullest potential.
Easy to learn, hard to master, and a thing of beauty when used well.
love your gameplay and your skill so much!!! You're God at this!! i love GS too, been play it all the time but still suck at tackle :p
phenomenal job
Amazing video and gameplay...though no beginner is going to do this with the GS lol you're monster knowledge is on an extremely high lvl. Your positioning and timing plus knowledge are so on point. You sir make that weapon what it is...I have close to 7000 hours in this game, most of it being on LS so I feel the weapon knowledge is most important. Stick it out with any weapon to learn it, and you'll become a beast with it.
I love my GS. Nothing beats the satiscation of a perfect timed SMACK, or a shoulder bash stun :D
already main GS, its great to see other players using GS. Also awesome hits u got there
The setups and snipes are INSANE!! One day I will be as good as this with the GS
That's the spirit!
Ah GS... the monster's quivalent to kicking your pinky toe into furniture and someone opening a door in your face
I prefer insect glaive personally, #wooshwooshwoosh
Awesome video bro, you should have more subs ✌
Hey you found me Matt! Thanks a lot man you're wicked with GS aswell. Keep it up hopefully we can play together during this break.
Beautiful gameplay, gotta try the slap to ttc combo instead of the overhead to ttc, i can see myself saving time with that
New players: the monsters are so unpredictable!
Veterans:
did i just see you slap a fatalis with a fish on a stick, thats so awesome
Nah bro this is insane. I feel like I'm no GS main anymore. :/
signor PortamiDeiGessi, complimenti, bel video davvero.
Infinite grazie egregio spettatore. I tuoi complimenti non saranno ignorati ♥️
also at 5:05 the Glavenus Tail + Head hit was beauthifull
Glad you liked those hits ;)
The predictions go crazy
Reminds me of my days back in freedom unite practicing the timing to get full charges off on tigrex’s head during his tackles. Good times
That last teostra clip was hilarious lmao
GG !
Holy shit man didn't expect you of all people to comment. I'm a big fan of your content! Makes me wish my footage looked as cinematic as yours 😅
what you did at 3:04 is amazing evading the lighning mid TCS Charging
And the Glavenus tail dodges too!
MHW got me into the MH series. My very first weapon was the Greatsword and it hasn't changed ever since. I just wanted to bonk things on the head with my mighty stick and here I thought I knew everything about this weapon but nah. I can count in 1 hand the amount of times I've been ballsy enough to try and TCS a monster out the air and succeeded... meanwhile my guy over here is swatting seething b52 out the air and stomping savage pickle like a bug and lets not ignore the absolute violation he gave to both Fatalis and Alatreon...wow just wow. Bravo good sir... bravo!
SMOOTH
Using hammer right now. (Long sword main and Charge blade second). Will definitely try Great sword next
1:30 insane🤯
It's not just the weapon, it's you.
When you turn Monster Hunter into Elden Ring, the monsters are like "WHAT THE HELL!!? he HIT me!? he wasnt even facing me!! and the attacks are super delayed how did i get hit by this garbage!?" :D
Flashbacks from that one Margit attack
Show me compilations of guts just cutting people in two with one swing and I would literally use great sword my whole life
Based
I didn't believe in you until I saw you against fatalis. Respect.
I was hammer for so long , and also gunlance and hammer in the original mhf2. But now greatsword and hammer and bow are life
I’m a hammer main but also tap into great sword often and I’d say I’m pretty good with it
I've always wanted to use the Great Sword, I think it's a really cool and fun weapon to play at times when you don't have to worry, it's pretty slow but its high damage for single hits rewards you for have patience
I doubt I could hit these unique moments about the monster's frames and positions at the exact moment so the blow doesn't miss, but I would definitely use the weapon, even if I'm not the beast with it , I feel like I would have fun trying to learn to be at least decent with the weapon
what feels the best about the greatsword is the fact that it's so normal to keep your weapon sheathed. got caught in a bad position? just super man dive, you're already sheathed. a bit far to punish an opening? just sprint, you are already sheathed. being allowed to entirely focus on your position and monster's patterns without worrying about constant dps that might lock you out of opportunities is just bliss...
then to get good at the great sword it's really easy and straight forward, you look up good players and try to do what they do. "oh, so when the monster do this he place himself here and do this attack to punish. let's try it." and so you try, sometimes it takes 2-3 tries, sometimes it takes 100 of tries, but eventually you get it right.
what really changed my view of the weapon and turned me into a main is learning the rajang matchup. at first i thought it just couldn't be done, that gs was bad against it since he move too much for big hits, and attacks too fast for hyper armor. then i watched how a speedrunner did it... in my mind it was "wait, it's all draw attacks? always has been."
Turning off damage numbers on GS should be a crime of the highest degree
Agree. Dunno what was on my mind when I did that Alatreon run
me just wanting to feel like im playing og mh again
Honestly fucking impressed man
I'm convinced and ready to try GS now \[T]/
Join us!
This is true mastery of the GS
Greatsword has always held appeal, but its slow and deliberate nature have always scared me off. In 4u i was solely chargeblade, in g/gu i split my time between that and hammer, in world i mostly did hammer, and in rise started hammer but ended up s&s. I suppose in the end, what i wanted was mobilty and modularity, but i do envy the reach. That single destructive hit always looks better than hacking at a creature's face/knees or launching myself at x part for a break.
Correction. This video convinced me to try slinger capacity.
Yes, I am absolutely coming back to GS on ICBRN
Great video although I'm never becoming a GS main. It's the only weapon that makes me want to pull my hair out and even succesful TCS give less dopamine than 2 missed TCS take away. Then again an SnS main is the farthest thing from GS.
Damn I can only wish I could get this good with GS. Most I've managed is a few accidental dodges with the third charge attack and even have ducked under a few tail swipes with the second. Key word accidentally.
I’m willing to give it a try next time I play I’m just too bad and prefer more reaction based weapons
I see this and all I can think of is how many TCS I'll be missing and how frustrated I'll get. Slow weapons just don't get my jimbos jiggling
I'm more of a Lance / SnS guy, but this is what I can call THE PEAK MH gameplay.
Those are truly beautiful GS gameplay you show here!
Bro this only convinced me that you have batshit insane timing and accuracy 😂
I'll try this once i beat monster hunter stories 2 on my switch 😁
My issue with gs is that it o ly starts really shining once youve gotten a fight down to following a script. Amazing speedrunner/high skillcap weapon but it can feel atrocious to use if youre fighting a faster monster with a small hitbox and dont know the exact timings to punish like a rajang or something.
Its why i find myself prefering CB a lot to fulfill a similar role. Guard point SAED counters give you the big hits playstyle if TCS to a lesser extent and then you have savage axe chainsawing which lets you still do good damage vs stuff rhat doesnt have easy to punish attacks.
I do wish GS had more strong moves that gave it some flexibility for capitalizing on smaller punishes. TCS is highly inconsistent unless you can basically fight the monster blindfolded and i am not really fond of quick draw gs
agreed, need scripts to get the most out of gs, thats why when you play with gs users who dont understand the monster or gs shortcuts, hunts take so long because they barely land and when they do they dont max damage, when you have a script its the most powerful wep in the game
Truly God of Great Sword
Time
To make a full guide im loving gs as new player
No, this video has convinced me I will never know these new and updated monsters well enough to main greatsword. I could abuse rathian and MAYBE teostra like this, but only because I'm a 1st fleeter.
Amazing video, though. This was great fun
yo fourth fleeter here you would be surprised how quickly you take to learning down times and stun durations if you just do one playthrough
gonna switch up my Hammer a little to play GS and Lance
Fun fact: the more skills a GS user shows, the more convinced i am to never touch GS.
And you, sir. Are very skilled.
I mean what are the chances that a pleb like me could perfectly pull that last swing just as the monster charges forward...
He's gaming hard
Would you ever consider showing your drops for your characters you have some badass ones dude
Would love to see some of your builds
ua-cam.com/video/8qD8V3CCKrU/v-deo.htmlsi=uHsL1naFFAClPE63
Here are the builds I rock most of the time
I was charge blade main before but since I know greatsword I never touched charge blade again
You're an artist with a sword twice your size for a brush.
ok i subbed
GS supremacy Forever!.. 💪
I'm a GS main since MHP3RD 😁
As a new hunter, I find it absurd that one of the most simple weapons in the game has one of the highest skill ceilings I’ve seen
It really did
Good looking clips and not trying to take away anything from you, but GS newbies should know ultimately this doesn't represent the standard GS gameplay, even if you are good with the weapon. A lot of these clips just had the monster AI do just the right things, they could also cart you with unexpected follow ups instead.
100% agree. I like to gamble sometimes with my TCSs but it usually ends with me getting hit. Keep in mind that some fights like Teostra or Bazel have lots of moves that close distance gaps, so whenever they run past me I always set up an attack to catch them. Still it doesn't end well from time to time. Thanks for pointing this out!
🦀🎵
i want to know your decorations with fatalis armor and velkana legs, I am using the same build lol
The builds are in the description in case you wanna check em out
@@Blasteronefr thanks
I can never master perfect GS, but Im more than welcome to play my main, the Horn for you magnificent bastards
How do you know so much and know where to hit and etc? Do you have anytips or guides?
(C&P from another comment I made)
If you wanna get better at GS I'd recommend learning one specific fight of your choosing first. Watch some speed runs of it and learn some key TCS windows (I personally recommend Alatreon/Fatalis/ATV, funnily enough three of the most TCS friendly fights).
Also keep in mind that despite what people may assume ALL of the GS's attacks are useful, with the exception of wide slash and maybe jumping wide slash, the latter of which is held back by its long recovery window but can still find occasional use in countering monster's flinches. I say that once you've become comfortable with TCS openings your next step is to learn to make use of the rest of your move set. Play creatively while still retaining a good pace with the moves you're confident with countering.
Oh and this goes without saying but MAKE HEAVY USE OF THE SLINGER BURST TCS SHORTCUTS, which can be performed after most of the GS's moves, most notable of which are draw slash and side bash, the latter which is a powerful repositioning tool if done after a tackle.
Man i love thr mh Community 😢
GS main are just gigachad, its hard but the skill celing is so high !
Everytime you land a TCS you wanna keep playing GS
Everytime you miss a TCS you wanna drop GS (and you will miss a lot in middle hunts!)
I love playing it but I don't have the preparation skill to use it effectively like you. I also play multiplayer a lot so the monster is generally giving me its' butt to hit
learn that not all tcs have to be perfect ending it early because they are out of a animation is perfectly viable hell tackling then Wide Slash into a slinger burst to reposition is still better than missing
great sword is more about the mindset and knowing when to comit and how to read a monster
sadly it requires more knowledge and skill than any other weapon and more than new players have. I remember alot of moves and can read monsters after the time I put in, but I STILL dont know what moves a monster will do BEFORE the animation. Greatsword is fun, but not nearly as good in a lesser players hands :(

i want my longsword to just be a great sword
Not convinced to play GS, but I AM convinced that if I had that level of knowledge about monster animations, I could beat the game with a toothpick
As CB main, GS is too hard for me xD Predicting the movements just to get the level 3 strongest attacks is too much rather than quick counter and counterattack. Although i'd like to hear how to be better at GS, bcs watching it makes me feel as if i was watching a godgamer
Sorry if I'm late.

Ah yes, the trusty greatsword, carried me through many monster hunter games until i gave into my inner caveman. hammer all the way baby
