    First, you are the kind of person who remind me why UA-cam was awesome back in the day, when videos like this were far more popular than these wanna be MH "masters".
    You simply KNOW this weapon and i would love for you to make other videos if you ever decide to play another weapon or you think you could give some tips.

    I'm super late to this party but I just wanted to say something... Holy moly my eyes have been opened. This video (after going into a solo hunt and just messing around with the stuff you've shown here) has changed the game for me. I've never landed so many back-to-back TCS's ever and on my first attempt it all just... worked. I was enjoying the GS but you've just introduced me to a whole new layer of depth (and fun).
    Also the editing on the TCS whiffs is great. Makes me want to make an "Unsatisfying Great Sword" montage where it's just TCS barely whiffing over and over again.

    after every roll continue to tackle;
    after every tackle continue either side blow or side slash;

    Thanks a lot for making this guide!
    I'm new to Monster Hunter and I had almost given up hope in finding a good guide for MHW. All of the (many) other "guides" I've seen pretty much say the same three things:
    - To defeat X just use OP gear Y (which drops from either X or from an enemy harder than X).
    - To avoid X's attacks just practice until you learn how to avoid its attacks.
    - Weapon "guides" that recommend to always aim for the most damaging combo (which you'll never pull off because it requires the monster to stay still for 10+ seconds),
    Honorary mention to the "EASY way to defeat X in 5 minutes" guides which explain that all you have to do is never get hit or miss TCS.

    I always thought the GS was a slow and boring weapon with like 3 usable moves. In just 10 minutes you completely changed my opinion. Tried picking it up and it's an absolute blast.
    Thank you.

    Holy shit this video was just perfect. Decided to main GS in Iceborne now that it hit PC and I won't lie, it wasn't exactly the most enjoyable experience with the mobs being so fast and not being CC'd with flashpods/stuns. I did a few hours of hunting after your video and holy what a difference the slinger rotation made, so many what would be missed TCS finally connecting! Changes the whole gameplay and idea of GS being an immobile weapon.

    Watching this as a PC player makes me miss my rocket sword, but good tips none the less. One thing to never underestimate it the ability to go from a jumping charged attacked, into the slinger burst, and a true charge. Really good when you have to position on the fly off an edge.

    This video made me rediscover GS which I havent played since MHGen or something. Holy cow it feels like an entirely different thing now, and way more badass. I was also surprised by how much faster my hunts went compared to a few weeks ago playing CB, LS and HH. I love GS again thanks to this great guide. Too often the how to videos just reiterate movesets and that's it, this is a more practical way to show how to play the weapon. I don't even comment on YT but I like this so much so thanks again.

    holy shit. my mind is blown and my third eye just opened!
    I recently started a new playthrough in World cuz I wanted to learn a new weapon while waiting for Wilds and outside of the draw attack, hit n run playstyle and 'tackle is the best addition GS got in World,' I didn't know anything else about this weapon. Now I'm halfway through Iceborne and watching this video CHANGED EVERYTHING for me. Styling on Nargacuga has never felt so satisfying. 😂 Thank you so much for this, man. Might have to bring GS as my 2nd weapon when Wilds comes out!

    For once the youtube algorhythm hit the nail on the head.. which is exactly what I'll be doing in my next hours with the game while trying to get this stuff into my muscle memory. After almost 600 hours maining the GS you'd think I knew everything, but as it turns out, I don't. Thank you kind sir, this'll be fun and interesting to learn.

    Hello, just started out in the world of MH and I initially thought the GS was clumsy and slow. I came across your video and it motivated me to give the weapon a try. The tackles and slinger bursts looked smooth and really cool, and I just had to try it out. It’s like fighting games, you know - you practise a character only because it looks cool to you.
    I started working my way through MHW before Iceborne using GS, and over time “Crit Draw” GS was the way I learned to fight properly, patiently waiting for that window to get one hit in and sheathe. I had just now learned to react to monster staggers with clutch-wounding, and it was just really fun. And learned that GS actually had lots of options because of the constant sheathing and good sheathe speed; I could superman dive lots of things and use items very freely.
    I came back to your video just now and everything started to make sense, since I had used the Charge > Slinger Burst > TCS combo quite a few times to precisely cut tails or break parts, and of course had quite a few more times of whiffing TCS and eating one too many cart-worthy hits.
    I feel that your video has shown me the maximum potential of the weapon, and it will inspire me to work more on GS going into Iceborne; so thank you very much for the guide! I’m a big fan of technical, in-depth guides with character.

      I rewatched and noticed there wasnt mentioned of fully charging the fade away slash. If you fully sharge stronge slash, then tackle cancel it and immediately do the jumping side slash (fade away) it carries the charge from strong slash. This hit is the 2nd strongest next to a fully charged and connected tcs. HOWEVER IF YOU CANT CONNECT the first hit on tcs or fully charge, the fade away is more damage given the single hit and carried charge plus you come right out of tacjle hyper armor. Other than that he hit EVERYTHING. 11/10 guide. Spread the word!

    I never thought you could actually chain attacks and close wide distances with combos using the side blow. I've been only using the unsheathed roll + tackle to charge and counter through attacks and roars but it was never so efficient and effective (I always run out of stamina) T__T
    Thank you so much man. Still helpful even after years. I very much appreciate all of this. Like and sub very well-deserved.
