I hope they push the ecological interaction even more in gen 6, I love seeing this huge beasts just act like normal animals rather than movie monsters, makes it feel more real yk
It's called Monster HUNTER. I want to feel like a hunter. World did an excellent job with that and while I like some of the combat changes made in Rise, it feels more like I'm playing Monster FIGHTER. The way monsters just kinda meandered around the map in World was fantastic and natural feeling. There's been several times in Rise where I set myself up for a crafty ambush on the monster and the AI just goes "OK I'M LEAVING THIS ZONE K THANKS BYE" and it just does a 180 and sprints across the map to another zone. Where it just sits there until it decides to do it again. Missing a fully charged Hammer plunge attack because the AI isn't implemented as well as it should be feels bad.
3:50 I don't know what's more impressive, the fact that someone programmed the distant path finding of a flopping fish, or the fact that you actually dragged it all the way there
There’s always one little detail in MHW that I always adore. When you stand next to the expedition gates in the canteen in astera while there is an Anjanath in the ancient forest, you can hear it’s roars.
World was so immersive and groundbreaking and really helped to bring a lot of new people into the series. The living, breathing *world* they brought to life was insane! But I do have to say, I love that I can take Rise with me on my Switch and go play it with friends in person 😅 it reminds me of the 3DS days and I kind of missed that with world when we all had to be in our own separate spaces
Same. I got World on xbox one when it first released, got rise on switch just for the portability aspect. Tbh I feel like playing through world again now that I have a xbox series x.
@@gordonfreeman9733MH World was released in 2017, Iceborne in 2019, the Steam Deck in 2022. Most players had already played through World when the SD was released.
The realism of MHW was why it was the first Monster Hunter I got invested in. Even going on expeditions alone or with friends and just exploring the ancient forest, fishing, and finding rare ingredients or endemic life for a few hours at a time was fun
@@johndoe-ge3qy realism doesn't mean mundane. It just means MHW has good believability, where the work of fiction's established logic remains consistent enough to have its own functional and believable reality.
@@ihaveaplan.ijustneedmoney.9777 he's prolly tryna get a rise out of you (no pun intended) but yes i do agree with monster hunter world being more realistic/feeling more alive
I miss Iceborne’s food variety the most. It really made the human society in the Monster Hunter universe look believable. Like, does everyone in Rise live off of only bunny dango?!
Yeah man they fighting monsters dragon etc man and just gonna eat dango what the heck the world eating system is really fits to monster hunter since they are hunter
i always think that whenever my character is not at max stamina in rise its because she only ate dango for the whole duration of the quest meanwhile my character in world eat like his last food lol.
Well, since it's "ninja sheit", food needs to be nutrious and compact. Though... Minoto does say that she makes her sister eat "normal food" so dango is more like.... sweet-ish thing? l do miss the bih ass plate with all the good looking food from MHW. And here you thought that maybe Elgado has some proper food, lol.
2 underrated details in World that I absolutely adore; -Elder Dragons physically change the appearance of the locales they appear in. When Kushala Daora is at the Ancient Forest, there's a storm brewing. When Teostra is at Sandy Plains you can physically see the heatwaves in the air. When Kirin is at Coral Highlands, lightning is striking all over the sky. There could also only be up to a max of 1 other monster in the locale at the same time to sell the power and influence Elders have wherever they go. -When you capture a monster you can go back and see it physically restrained in a pen at Astera/Seliana and even get some unique lines of dialogue about them from the researcher nearby. Neither of these things are true in Rise. I like Rise a lot, I think it's great, but I love World and all its little details so much more.
The captured monsters in the city is a amazing detail. And they keep the damage we did to him in fight, the broken parts keep broken, thats awesome... These level of detail we only see in the main series...
Simply the difference between a console/ PC vs a handheld title. Sadly handhelds just don't get the same resources and are limited on the power the hardware provides.
Also one thing I noticed when I first fought the Barioth from the story quest, is when you are hanging from wedge beetles, he will try to swat you like the effing cat that he is.
I enjoyed how in World Teostra is described as extremely violent but he’s perfect content to sit back and observe you, whilst Lunastra is the one to flip her shit as soon as she sees you. Even Nergigante will give you a chance to back off but Luna chooses violence without hesitation
Lunastra was one of the absolute worst things to farm the crowns for this sole reason. If the game decided to spawn you in front of her, there was no way to prevent her from going aggro and start looking for you, even with the Ghilie on.
MHW’s little environmental details made it feel so alive and real. it was incredibly fun to just walk around in an expedition and take in all the sights while not on a hunt, or ghillie mantle up and watch the habits of a certain monster
@@zhivix8263 yes it was, I loved trolling monsters with ghillie mantle and stones, environmental traps.. also you actually were a hunter, having to look around for footprints and other cues, whereas in Rise all you do if blaze across the ugly map to beat a boring monster by spamming wirebug moves
I agree. I got into MHW after watching my husband play and it is such a beautiful game. I will got on expeditions to mine in Elder’s Recess and just stare at the details they put into tiny things. It’s amazing
Couldn't agree more. Rise feels like it is missing something when compared to World. Imo monsters are the real protagonists in World, not the players. :)
It’s kinda insane the level of interaction you have with the… well, world… in iceborne. Mastering the ecology was part of learning a hunt and I love it so much for that.
This is exactly my biggest gripe with Rise... the world there feels empty. Even the monster interactions feel somehow weaker and more sparse.. Hopefully the new MH will be more like World.
@@allanperl5107 wait, there's nothing like that in rise? Like turf wars of monsters etc? If there's not, i'd be sad, im playing world iceborne right now and loving it and always thought rise would be better.
@@rodclarence4147 there is turf wars still in rise, but the enviormental details are definitely toned down. Turf wars dont feel as frequent, and most monster interactions just result in one monster hitting another and then leaving once you can wyvern ride it, which is like rise's version of mounting. Rise is not an improvement to world. It's kind of it's own thing for better or for worse. That of course depends on the player though.
@@rodclarence4147 It's shifted. Where World was more focused on flora whereas Rise has is it in for fauna. You can pick up bugs to throw for ailments and frogs to put down, you have an animal to get aggro, one that gives you a ride chance and you got some that can stagger the monster. It really fits with Rise's fast paced and movement orientated style. After playing both it's hard to say which one is better because they play completely different to me.
I love Rise but I hope for the next game they go back to Iceborne's style and world building. I love the ecology side of World, how you investigate the creatures and study them, I miss this in Rise
I hope they keep some gameplay improvements from Rise. I know Wirebugs will end up the way of the Slinger, being abandoned in the next entry most likely, but they're super fun to use. I hope Switch skills stay though. Being able to customize movesets a bit would be great and I'm having a blast with Sacred Sheath on LS.
I want World's attention to detail and echological side but Rise's designs and classic Japanese/Capcom wackyness. MHW was too westernized, too sterile.
I guess it has something to do with the game being for the Switch, since that lil console is far too weak for World levels of complexity. But yeah, I'd prefer the world amount of detail too.
One of the reasons I'll always love world in the monster hunter franchise is that it really makes u feel like the whole world is alive and we're just part of a massive and weird biosphere. It may not b the best mh, but it's def one of my favorites
15:46 One more attention to detail that I found while playing Iceborne: The fire coming out of the Wyvern Ignition's engine during a charge will melt some snow on contact.
The downgrade in Rise is understandable since it's a handheld port, but man, this video really makes me appreciate World for what it had. So many little details like the endemic life behavior and absolutely gorgeous skybox went sadly unappreciated during my time with it, and I'm glad I get a chance to see it now. ...I'm not gonna miss that heat-seeking Rathian during the egg delivery missions though. SCREW that.
Rise was also made during COVID, and it clearly affected development since the game came out unfinished. I could see fine touches like a lot of this stuff being lower priority and therefore not getting done due to time constraints.
@@cliffpuncher357 Remember also there was a massive data leak in capcom, normally all development in every Sector Is supspended until everything Is recovered and put in security again, usually It take a considerable amount of time but nothing too big of a deal, but this wasn't a breach of common proportions
About the Rathian they even had that interaction way back in Monster Hunter 4 ultimate. Seeing this being removed from Monster Hunter Rise feels..... off
A big part of why MHW is so great (for me) is just how alive and immersive it feels to play. Chances are i didn't notice 90% of the stuff that makes the game "alive". But just having those small things in the background adds up to being such a wonderful experience where you are actually experiencing what "monster hunting" is like. Even the part that many people hate, the tracking. it just makes the experience so much more engaging as you are expected to engage with the environment, and actually finding the monster rather than having an objective marker. (It does get annoying at times when you run around the whole map for like 20 mins and can't find a single mark). But for the most part, it has the right balance between realism of finding/hunting monsters, and game-ism? to prevent tediousness(where you have the scout flies highlighting marks so you aren't looking for 1 teensy scratch mark in the whole map)
Did you know if you go to expedition next to the canteen in astera, a monster’s roar of the ancient forest will make decibels, check it out if you haven’t yet
I have been playing since the first Monster Hunter & MHW was literally the best in years by far & I hope to see more like it in the future. I still play MHW every chance I get.
I started with MHFU. Truth be told, I'd say MHW is the third best game, first being MHFU, then MH4U, and finally MHWI. While the graphical fidelity was the best in the series bar none, the new additions to the roster left much to be desired. Clutch claw was a mistake, the tempered monsters were just spongy versions of their original character models, and Iceborne didn't feel like the giga expansion that all of its predecessors had. Plus, all the new options that MHW brought were hit or miss. The clutch claw and its evolution, the wirebug, I think were a mistake. They're giving the player too many broken tools when the original concept of the series is "hunt the giant monster". It's devolving into weeb bait and I don't care for it too much.
2:27 This is something that people often use as evidence for bad hitboxes, but it's actually a new feature introduced in Rise specifically so monsters can deal with hunters that would otherwise camp on an unreachable ledge and fire down with a bowgun. When a monster hits a wall, a quake sound effect plays, and the ledge above will throw the hunter back down. The real issue is that the effect is way too subtle for the actual reaction caused.
It’d had been more easily understanding if it use specific motion like wobbly legs before falling down, something like how hunters in World-IB do when affected by crumbling terrains instead of reusing hit reaction (though I guess the locked animation could be irritating in this situation where it occurs more by monsters/when you’re fighting closed to walls)
World fortunately had the benefit of being developed for consoles that had some level of power to them. Rise starting on switch definitely affected attention to detail like this. And it's not like they could just add it in when the pc port dropped. Mh6 will definitely be a spectacle and I'm excited for it. Update: Wilds is about to go hard as fuck capcom just take my wallet
@@nikkoa.3639 not is not, Monster Hunter Rise is Monster Hunter Rise is Monster Hunter 5.5,Monster Hunter 6 is gonna be the next Monster Hunter released on PS5 e Xbox series X/S with RE Engine
@@GiancarloThomazSenoni Well Monster Hunter Rise is built on the RE Engine and will be released on PS4 and Xbox this 2023. Do remember that MH3 and MH4 were released as portable entries yet are considered mainline. MH Rise is MH6, it has its own story and plot, its own range of monsters and its own diverse new weapons. A portable entry would be something that is derivative of the past title (i.e. World) but Rise has its own identity. By all accounts, it is MH6.
@@nikkoa.3639 Ok and? It was built for the switch alongside World, which was built for the more powerful consoles. Both are cannonical mainline entries, but one is for a weaker device and they aren't going to recode the entire damn game that took half a decade to make just because someone is annoyed the graphics don't blow their socks off.
The gajau jumping its way back to water is fkn funny lmao both rise and world (but props to rise for making the Gajau die for staying too long on land)
The subtitle "World" definitely had meaning to it. It really felt like an actual world you were exploring. Rise leans more into the video game-y elements of monster hunting, which isn't bad of course, but it's a very different experience.
Yah. Monster Hunter franchise was always avout the "arcade"hunting experience. Since world, the trend jave change which is completely fine by me but i feel like rise is more of the miďdle ground and i kinda like it tho. Just hate a bit the wirebug mechanic but not enough to stop me from playing and having good time in the game !
No, rise is more in line with classic monster Hunter with the more arcade-y feel. World did a great job of bringing the world to life. Both are fantastic games in the franchise.
@@XGab1X wirebug is absolutely fantastic once you get used to it! I felt the same way initially but once I learned how to integrate it into my combos and playstyle, it really opens the game up tremendously
I REALLY hope they bring back passive, and semi-aggressive monsters. I liked it when every monster wasn’t so goddamn aggressive and actually had different personalities. And being able to just chill next to a passive monster was so cool.
The way you have to track in World is actually pretty genius. Not only does it make finding monsters more engaging, it also keeps the map more mysterious, e.g. by make invading monsters an actual surprise. But most importantly, it actually makes you interact with the vivid enviroment much more. While looking for scratch marks etc, you are also paying attention to the detailed environment. Just exploring every nook and cranny the first time for each new map was actually a ton of fun. Flying around with wirebugs is enjoyable in it's own right, but doing so is the antithesis of slowly taking in the environment. I wouldn't want wirebugs in World, at least not not the first complete playthrough.
Wirebugs would probably be some limited use item, you only get a few for a mission and once they've been used that's it. You don't get any more and thus you have to use them smartly, waiting for the right opening to make use of one.
I was getting Stygian Zinogre tracks in elder's recess, when i see him go up to kushala's place, he sat down like a dog on the ledge facing the sky/whole elders recess and started howling. Ill never forget that moment, took a cool screenshot too
The amount of detail put into Iceborne is incredible. Rise/Sunbreak has so many wonderful QoL improvements that make the core experience better, but World/Iceborne were just on an entirely different level when it came to making the world feel alive. I hope the next title borrows heavily from both because it could easily be the best MH game.
Literally due to one being a switch title and one being on ps4 and optimized for ps4 pro. In my perfect world. We will get rise styled combat and movement with worlds detail
rise does have qol improvements like being able to skip cutscenes world did not add this as well as being able to join on key quest with your friends and seeing monsters drop rates and weak points this was a Better addition then worlds version of it since it can be misleading at times especially with alatreon. but it also has gameplay changes for example cold and hot drinks are not qol there gameplay changes same with wire bug, movement being faster, going into the camp to take more items for the hunt, and no longer needing bug nets, pickaxes or wet stones to be taken along with you. Qol improvements are like being able to take all the items after the hunt instead of pressing each item one by one or being able to go into your room before going out into a quest.
Couldn't have put it better, the level of detail is by far superior for world, but didn't support switch, switch probably held Sunbreak back, but the Qol in Sunbreak is a breathe of fresh air, getting to the monster to fight it is far quicker
Just a heads up at the end, the labels were switched. Sunrise's gameplay of the dodge in the snow is labeled as Iceborne, while Iceborne's gameplay of the walk into the hot spring was labeled as Sunrise.
The amount of detail was awe-inspiring in world/iceborne. I actually really liked how customizable your rooms were, and that you could catch rare animals to bring back home. I loved going out hunting for rare animals and collecting them all. You can't do that in rise/sunbreak, and your room doesn't have nearly as much customization. Still, I look forward to what they bring in future games.
404 - Ideas for a channel's name not found We literally got Generations Ultimate AFTER World came out. Also, how does being a Switch game limit ROOM CUSTOMIZATION of all things? I’m referring particularly to what OP was talking about in their comment and not any implications of the other details world has “in the field”. Explain to me how you think the switch can’t handle room customization? Because I’m pretty sure that was all just an unfortunate exclusion by the devs and nothing more.
i loved doing just gathering tours trough world... put on simple leather gear, SnS, and just went on a expedition, taking in the big maps... ive spend ingame days and night in each map, inspecting each area, finding hidden spots, shortcuts and secrets... i was suprised finding an Anjanath taking in the morning sun by that cliff in the ancient forest or realizing the gigantic dalamadur skull in the rotten vale... the creepy, eerie sounds the wind creates while blowing trough the coral highlands at night or the bazel circling trough the air in the elders recess.... i wish deeply that MH6 will have something similar going on
It looks promising and maybe if it is done by the same team with a similar budget Wilds will be at least as awesome as World was. I hope it will be better but in today's gaming landscape you should never get your hopes up, sadly.
I'll never forget my first time time seeing Anjanath sunbathing with its sails up, out on its little ledge overlooking the sea. Your first interaction with it is a hulking behemoth of a monster, which it is, throwing around Great Jagras like a ragdoll. It's your first true brick wall for most World players too. Then... you catch it, minding its own business, sneezing on rocks to mark territory, and sunbathing to warm up.
Omg! Yes!! I just found out recently that Anjanath does that after 3000 hours of gameplay. lol. I'm still discovering new things in MHW: I after all these years.
Yea I just recently saw velkhana freezing the endemic life which is why you see some frozen bodies as tracks, was pretty cool to see they don't just spawn out of no where
@@C.hrismo im pretty sure most tracks dont spawn out of nowhere the monsters leave footprints where they actually walked and some wall tracks you can see the monsters making them
@@Cyborgianoid in the guiding lands and expositions if a monster just spawns in you can sometimes see tracks of that monster also appear out of thin air. A little oddity of the medium of the series being video games
Actually rise sunbreak do have some ecological features it's just hard to see. You can see arzuros fishing, great baggi marking territory, goss harang scratching its back, and so on. I'm trying to capture the moment and upload it on youtube but hell it's really hard to capture that moment.
world/iceborn was and always will be a magical game. everything about it seemed so alive. and not just the zones, but the villages, the hubs. there are other people walking around, eating, crafting. i love rise/sunbreak as a game, but world was an entire experience. im so glad i took that leap of faith to buy world when i did. a game hasnt hooked me in like that in a long long time
the engine was apparently super jank and held together with popsicle sticks and string, but they had a lot of great ambiance since it was made with stronger consoles as a baseline
I feel like I'm the only person who grew up with MH on PSP/3DS and yet still found World to be the absolute pinnacle of the franchise. The immersion, the detail, the animations, the effects, the quality of life improvements, from the way you move to the world around you. Always dreamed of a console MH and World delivered 100x. With how immersive and beautiful the latest CAPCOM games have been I can only imagine what they have in store for MH6.
I started with 3U on the 3ds when it came out. Then 4U, generations, went back and played Freedom Unite, all before world came out. As of 7/9/23 I have 630 hours in 3U, 570 in 4U, 200 in generations, 1500 in world/Iceborne and 530 in Rise/Sunbreak. I started with 3U when i was 11 years old and i agree World is PEAK monhun
@@zekerdeathI feel the same way, I’ve looked at arise gameplay and it just doesn’t have the same feel, it’s more fast paced, more like a fighting game compared to what World was
What I liked in Iceborne is using the environment to your advantage. The water breaks at the Ancient Forest, the snow Avalanche at Hoarfrost reach, etc. There's a lot of epic scenes. Not saying MHR doesn't have its own epic stuff, but I loved doing that in MHW.
Let me gets this clear. Iceborne is a masterpiece, and a true love letter to both Monster Hunter and its fans. Eventho the launch was rough, the game truly is one of a kind and maybe one of the most immersive experience to date. Playing without HUD on a high end pc is pretty crazy.
Every time I play one of these two games, I really feel that if they were put together we'd possibly have a game that outshines both. For example, the QOL changes of Rise/Sunbreak + the wonderful environments/details of World/Iceborne. (This might be a silly thing to miss, but I really do wish we could have endemic life in our rooms in Rise, I have a few Arrowhead Gekkos in World and they're adorable to see every time I check in :) )
Replaying world with some friends, and they don't get it. They asked why I was the last one to show up for the monster when I was the first one out of camp. It's like they didn't even see the downy crakes!
I agree for the most part. I liked some mechanics from Rise too, like being able to take pics of everything and put it in the Hunter's Notes. I don't remember if World had that, but if it did, i never did it. You could also hang pics in your room in Rise. And Rise introduced some new endemic life that helps you fight the monsters in different offensive or defensive ways. I would say the graphics, environment, and the level of detail is what's best about World. Everything else is better in Rise, including the wirebug mechanic, i much preferred it over the clutch claw. Not so much the wyvern riding, but i grew to like that feature too. I would prefer the combination of these 2 games to not have that specifically, and to just stick with World's land on the boss' back to do a take down. And Rise's wire bug skills/movement abilities over Clutch Claw. Basically best case scenario would be a combination of wirebug and clutchclaw, but adding only the best parts of both, and removing the bad things.
Iceborn was a masterpiece and was meant for it. Sunbreak is just a good old MH with QoL improvements and cool mechanics. It was meant to be minimalist and went for the essential. No more, no less. The two are good videogames for what they do.
World/Iceborn series and Rise/Sunbreak series are basically like the good ol' MH main vs MH portable series If you go compare say Monster Hunter Tri vs Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the differences would've been a looooot more glaring. With this in mind, Rise/Sunbreak actually did a very decent job.
Monster Hunter World (And Iceborne) was a mistake for me as my first MH game, it spoiled me because of its nicer graphics and how alive it felt. I like Rise, very fun to play, but it always felt like it was missing something in its world, it felt extremely empty. I miss capturing endemic life, but taking pictures is cool too. World is still fantastic, it feels like its breathing, iceborne brought in some fun new ideas as well, didn't really hate the guiding lands, never felt the need to minmax as fast as possible, got to the endgame quite comfortably. Edit: I shouldn't have watched this video, you are reminding me of all the cool things I use to do and no longer can in Rise. Tons of breakable terrain, parts of the map changing as you fight, sneaking around monsters. I actually did a lot of sneaking depending on what I was trying to do, damn I miss that, how do I miss sneaking around in MH??
I personally Had a different chronology. I started with World and interrupted it because everything felt so slow and clunky. Than I played Monster Hunter Rise and fell in love with it. Since I got used to the fighting System and gameplay of Monster Hunter through Rise I'm finally able to appreciate the work which was done for monster hunter world and play both of them for their individual strenghs. World for its huge and alive world, grafics and the more tactical fighting system. Monster Hunter Rise for its Fast paced Movement and Fighting.
This video perfectly incapulates what gave MHWorld such a special feel for me as my first MH game. The attention to detail made it feel so real, if you thought you could do something, 90% of the time you could! I really hope this attention to detail remains for whatever game will be its successor!
Different dev teams, different engines, different philosophies. World is by the mainline team, and was built on the engine used in previous games-MT Framework. Rise is by the portable team, who had to remake everything from scratch on the RE Engine. That, and the portable team tends to make faster-paced, more "arcadey" (for lack of a better term) takes on the MonHun formula.
@@DireNemesis They most definitely will. They’re the team that always make the generation starters. They also tend to keep thing a little more grounded, slower paced, and more detailed than the “portable” team does. The mainline director also confirmed in an interview after the release of Iceborne that the next game the team develops would likely retain many of the ecological focused gameplay elements such as the scout flies and monster behaviors, so there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to MH6 at the moment if you preferred World over Rise
I really love world because it really feels so alive. Its amazing the love and effort the developers put in to the game and that it stand the test of time. ❤
There's so many little things in world that I love. Even the cooking animation from the chef at canteen get upgraded while we collect more food and do his quest. Uragaan back also can be mined when it's toppled. The feeling and the immersive is awesome
Another small detail world has is that if you frolic in the hot springs towards solid ground, your character will bust their ass on the ground. I came across this on accident and was pleasantly surprised that the devs took the time to add it
I think both do well for what they are meant for, MHW was a massive undertaking, pushing the environment, interactions, and world building to its limit. And obviously, was massively succesful. MHR was premiered with the switch, obviously that's going to have its drawbacks. So while the environment, interactions, and world building aren't up to par with MHW, they still did an amazing job adding new mechanics and keeping the same MH feel with the game. I personally enjoy both and think that both are great, however I would like the next MH title to push past what even world did. UE5, an actually good story, and pushing the environment system/ai to its new limits.
@@boyzvirdNo it's not because these sorts of differences have literally always existed between the Mainline and Portable entries, entries the fans World brought in didn't play at all until well after Sunbreak came out.
I remember spending so much time just roaming the maps in World, and just taking it all in. It was very relaxing. Can't say I've done the same in Rise, but they obviously went the more action-oriented route. Not that that's a bad thing, just preferred the more immersive environments in World personally.
It was probably more because the Switch simply cannot compete with a stationary Playstation or XBox when it comes to processing Speed and Graphics. And World got a graphical "Overhaul" when Series X and Playstation 5 came out to allow Usage of the UHD Capabilities of the Consoles
@@freatv7612 Also, a lot of older fans complained about the verticality and slopes to the devs. Don't get me wrong, I personally enjoyed World - it's the most fun I've had with a MH game since Tri, but the general community seems to have a rather negative, or at least elitist, opinion towards it for trying too much new stuff too fast at the expense of some older staples like the number of unique weapon models.
When I was trying to explain to people why playing Rise just made me want to go back to world... And not being able to figure out exactly why, this video sums it up extremely well. Also, putting more of the attacks side by side would have done a real good job too. The biggest difference for me is, lack of impact to the combat in Rise. It just doesn't have that "wow" factor, and when you connect with things like SAED, Helmsplitter, etc, you don't get that same feeling.
True. As much as people like to complain about World's hitlag, combined with its sound and visual design, they really nailed the oomph behind every strike - especially when it comes to heavier weapons.
Hunting horn was the biggest gripe for me, I ain't complaining, love the buffs, I just don't love the way it feels, now there is no real risk/reward to using the weapon anymore, it's very overpowered yes, but it just... It don't feel right... Hunting horn had many buffs to make up for it's one big risk... Which is playing the songs, which keeps you stuck basically still, (with some wiggle room), when played, your songs would become these big shockwave esce attacks, which felt powerful and addictive, the drawback being, the horn is most effectively used on the face, cus it's a bonking weapon of course, so that's dangerous, the face is the riskiest zone to be attacking, more often than not. Pulling off a song and then managing to pull of an encore felt great! Getting stunned not so much... By hey, that's the cost of getting cocky and not paying attention. I swear most hunting horn users I meet, (who ain't corner horners) have the biggest balls of steel, (and often get clapped because of it 😅) I mean, running straight to the face of a monster preparing to fry your ass, hoping to stun it with your next song/attack is pretty ballsy. (Something I've cough-cough absolutely never cough-cough done before) Another minor danger is, not remembering your songs, pausing to look at songs too often, hyper focusing on your next song, and losing attention on your surroundings, it's not a weapon for folk who struggle to multi-task, it's a difficult weapon grab the reins of and thus is not often recommended to newbies. But it has so many great things about it, not just the songs and buffs, the fact that it can't be deflected and has the highest movement speed naturally (every horn has this song) it also is one of the few weapons to possess high exhaust damage, not only that, some the highest exhaust damage out of all weapons. (Exhaust being that mechanic that makes monsters stand there huffing and puffing for about 20-30 seconds or so, so you can wail on em). Which makes it in fact quite friendly even for solo use. (Yes it's not just a weapon to be used when in parties). But in rise... I dunno... I'm not quite a fan of the lack oomph it has. I mean, for starters, there are way less songs per horn, which means some horns are way, way crapper than others. Not all horns were created equal I see... The unique songs added in iceborne are gone, (really missing that speed boosting song and so are all my dual blade friends who enjoyed receiving it and just going nuts) And the songs themselves... More appropriately the way it's done... Not a fan... Just spam a note twice, song plays. Before you had a unique note sequence for every song, then you had to play it, which was risky but gave massive benefits once pulled off. (Plus it felt sick as hell and I loved the boom it made, felt powerful) Man I'm just really missing the way iceborne did the horn. It was the perfect buff for me personally, I love using encores and playing the songs as my main form of attack, it does so much damage and it feels great. It's like hammer on steroids, with a longer neck, plus it BOOMS. So fun. Don't get me wrong I still love Rise tho, very happy to see more people using and appreciating the horn, I just love it for different reasons. They are different experiences (but yes won't lie I think I definitely preferred the iceborne experience, in terms of the newer style gen games that is)
@@saceurai6629 oh yea the hitlag, everything certainly does feel slower in iceborne won't lie, rise is very gotta-go-fast, I appreciate it when farming, but it almost feels... Too fast sometimes, like I get suprised at how the longest I seem to take on hunts is around about 5-10 minutes, when in iceborne it's usually 10-15 minutes is my faster hunts (and this is playing casually of course, if I really tried I probably could end a hunt super fast it's just effort 😅) Totally agree about the oomph and heavy weapons feeling absolutely nuts. (The timing is based around how long I take in g-rank. Low/high rank obviously won't take long for the express reason that health pools are much smaller)
I prefer Rise a lot more. MHWorld thick environments full of stuff were unnecessary for me, I just want to hunt. It's why arena quests are some of my favorites. The clean landscapes and wide open areas in MHR are much more enjoyable to traverse and fight in imo. Rise was the perfect game for me much like how I would love a MHGU remake or to have that game with updated graphics but keeping the clean, mostly empty environment
this definitely made me a bit nostalgic for WorldBorne, I'll never forget trying out the demo and seeing Rathalos pick up an Anjanath and slam it on the ground for the first time and losing my shit.
When we got all the way to the endgame my buddy wasn't too excited about fighting Fatalis. "It's just a generic dragon. There are better designs." He said. Then the cutscene played and when he got his first proper look at Fatalis and fought him he lost his shit. One of my favorite memories from World.
@@brandonblackwood3680 I love Fatalis because he's a dragon styled after both western and eastern dragons. It's not a wyvern like most other monsters, it's an actual badass mf dragon!
Of course, Rise is considerably less detailed since, well, it is a portable title. But watching this vid just makes me long for another world-borne style title to come. Damn, those details put into the environment... amazing!
I'm just stunned, they could add dlc to world for w few next years, due the graphics was awesome even for today. They could make world next frontier and grab a cash or another 10 years.
@@Panasiux2 japanese devs, especially Mon Hun dev have dignity and respects their fans, thats why they prefer to make a new game giving new experience instead of milking current one to oblivion like EA.
Even MHgen (another portable title) had more details than rise so you can't just blame all of these problems on hardware issues and it being a portable game. Rise is just a rushed game as simple as that.
I think at this point the Rathian is sick of everyone steal her eggs to the point where she doesn’t care anymore, either that or the fact that the nest holds infinite eggs.
Another detail in World/Iceborne is that if a monster hasn't spotted you, you can use the slinger to lead them to the spot you fired at. Great for setting up an opening topple.
The official intro for anjanath when you finally hunt it world for the first time actually does show you can do this. your character uses the slinger to lead it under the rock trap in the ancient forest.
I honestly prefer the tone and vibe of Iceborne over Sunbreak. I enjoy some (not all) of the combat changes in Rise/Sunbreak, but a lot of the little things I liked in old MH game, let alone the small details in Iceborne, just aren't there in Rise. One such example is invaders. In Rise invaders do not matter, they exist purely for free damage, and after giving you that free damage they just leave. In the older games and Iceborne the only way to get them to leave was huck dung bombs at them, which didn't always force the monster to leave instantly and they'd sometimes still get a couple attacks in.
a thing i always did in this situations is hit the mosnter your fighting with the dungbomb and not the invader mosnter the dung bomb adds a huge load to the i think called scare/fear system what makes a monster in the end leave an area but cause in most cases the invader is way stronger then the monster your fighting its more likely the mosnter you fight will get scared and move on then the other way around
The thing that missed the most from MHW was the events that you could trigger (like landslides, avalanches, etc.). In MHR, all you could do were turf wars and that even looked bland, an example of a non bland turf war would be Lunastra and Teostra, I swear when I saw that turf war between them, my eyes literally lit up.
@@fabinagl7601 It kinda does, not because it's a nintendo game specifically, but it's made with a nintendo console in mind, even pushing the thing to its limits. Plus wirebugs are a thing so the verticality of the monster's hitboxes are buffed to hell, tho it is a bit of a cheap method to take a hunter down from the air, which is why I appreciate the devs giving combo moves to monsters. Portable old school MH with a tad bit of insanity, I appreciate that part of Sunbreak, but with every gen comes an evolution of the previous one so I appreciate what Iceborne brought to the table too
@@fabinagl7601 it does to a certain extent because it was developed with the switch hardware in mind. They knew world would be shipped onto PC, PS4 and xbox so they could go all out on graphics, animations and environment density.
I feel that World and Rise were aiming to achieve completely different things. World was focused on creating an immersive and grounded world with more detail than I’ve seen in any video game. Rise, on the other hand, focused on the gameplay and how to create new and fresh ways for us to hunt with the wirebug, skill swaps, etc. I personally think that World was more popular(aside from being available to more people) is because in video games there are never this amount of detail in the world, even in most open world and tycoon games, which prioritize that. Both games were amazing, they just had different focuses.
World also heavily focused on creating new ways to hunt though -- mantles, clutch claw, more environmental traps, turf wars, etc. Rise may have experimented more with weapon skills (especially since it's the same dev team as Generations), but I think it's relatively short-sighted to say that both games wanted to achieve completely different things.
No, that's not true at all. You're just assuming things. The only reason Rise does not have all those things that World has is because Rise is mainly a handheld game that was ported to pc It's that simple. They couldn't add half of the things that World has because of limitations and the other half wasn't added because Wire Bug mechanics that was added to not make another plain old monster hunter
@@loopys885 I’d personally have to disagree as a monster hunter fan who has played since 3 I enjoyed rise much more before you say anything world was a great game just enjoy rise more
Actually both have limitations cause of what they wanted to do gameplay wise the environment interaction was limited on rise. But World was limited by the type of monster that can be put in like leviathan types cause of crazy clipping on the maps
I think a lot of people miss that rise is old world while world is new world. That’s why things aren’t as aggressive in world, because you just aren’t a threat since they don’t really know what hunters/humans do. Rise has monsters that know that they’re hunted, and that’s why they’re aggressive. They know what hunters do/mean.
Its actually incredible how much the Portable Team was able to squeeze out of the Switch. They had a harsh Limitation compared to what the Home Consoles can offer and did the best they could. Even if this is PC footage hehe
let's hope that the successor of the Switch will be here before MH6 comes, imagine if we still doesn't have the next Switch generation and MH6Portable comes, it'll look and feel the same as Rise and the disparity between the mainline and portable MH will be massive and for sure people would be mad about that.
Just a note for any Rise players, we love Rise too. We're not saying it's bad, because it's a great game most monster hunters have also sunk hundreds of hours into. All monster hunter games are great in their own way.
Yeah, World has so much interactive detail. And Rise has like Quadruple the Weapon Movesets. Both realy great and expansive in different areas, depends on what you like.
Of course it's great. And world/IB is too. I really think the community has two kind of players, people who like methodical and contemplative MH games like world/IB or MH4U and people who like the more arcade side of the franchise like GenU and Rise/Sunbreak.
One of my favorite moments in Iceborne was sitting in one of the hot springs and my boy Banbaro just walks up and sits next to me its the little things that make games like monster hunter feel so immersive and engaging and kinda why i didn't put nearly as much time into rise/sunbreak.
Just remember that World was made for PS4 and Rise for Siwtch. That alone explains why World has more detailed quality than Rise. It's also why I hope that the next instalment are being made for PC or at least PS5 / XBOX X/S, and then they include a port to Switch 2 a year later.
@@meestersecure9060 I absolutely loathe the wire bug and the majority of counter/super armor moves. Feels to easy and spammy. its super clear what both games are going for... the name itself tells it World : emphasis on the World Rise : enphasis on verticality aspect which is the Wirebug system
Having played most of the MH games, my favourite memory is still with MH Portable 3rd. Still vividly remember getting goosebumps when Zinogre shows up for the first time. Good ol' days. 😌
You can really feel those switch limitations. It would be cool to see the next game have World's level of detail and Rises' moveset customization and diverse monster roster. Rise having some of my favorite monsters like Mizutsune, Valstrax and Gore Magala really carries it for me.
@@wallacesousuke1433 The portable team literally had to redo completely the rise maps halfway through development because they didn't want to separate maps into areas like previous titles just like what World did. That already puts a lot of limitation on details so that rise could run without killing the switch and also took away a chunk of dev time. To make matters worse they were faced with covid which restricted even more of what they can do, hence why they were forced to make allmother into a TU. It's a pretty rough development for rise so I really wouldn't say they're lazy or incompetent
I really love the living world that the franchise had created. The ecology videos and cutscenes showing off villages and hub towns had so much to convey. I am glad that world was able to bring that into the maps and gameplay, I hope that It is a mainstay for the Main series. I hope MH6 is as alive as World/Iceborne but with better story and more character importance. I don't care or have any feelings towards any characters in the 5th Gen of Monster Hunter. I want a game that is meaningful, purposeful, and challenging. I'd like it to be present in the gameplay, world, and story. I would absolutely love for seasons from Dos and underwater combat from Tri to return in MH6 and/or future games.
@@thecanadiandane7262 I'd much rather it was incorporated into the gameplay like how world did it. Think that's the coolest approach. Maybe in addition they could add bonus ecology videos like they did in tri/3u
I miss how beautiful and expansive the environments were in World. The graphics helped, but overall, just all the endemic life and details were what made it feel like an actual, well, world. Immersion was so good that I could spend hours just walking around and listening to nature and observing the flora and fauna interact with one another. Rise did some things good though. Combat feels really good, and traversal is so much fun. Also glad that weapon (aesthetic) variety returned as that was something World really missed the mark on. I'm really hoping the next game stays away from Nintendo and focuses on the next gen consoles in hopes we get the best of both MHW and Rise.
@@KinkyDiamond World, for largely unknown reasons as far as I'm aware, ditched a lotta unique weapon designs. In Rise and old gen games, every monster you hunted would get a uniquely designed weapon. In World, however, a LOT of weapons were just copy pasted bone or ore weapons with monster parts just kinda glued onto them, which not only looks pretty bad but takes away from the feeling of progression and the hype of "oh man what am I gonna get from this monster" and turns it into "please please please at least look good" Im still pissed swaxe got robbed of a good Bazel design.
@@chaoz7370 Everyone has a right to there own opinion but the weapon designs looked beautiful to me. Of course there were some misses like what you said about the swaxe, but I do not think its bad. The armor really hit its mark though.

I actually appreciate this video a lot. I couldn’t figure out why I liked world so much more than rise beyond the graphical quality of either one (which is not to say it matters a whole lot)
Yeah my thoughts exactly. I think the videos is a bit biased against Rise/Sunbreak anyway. Like the platform where the player go throught....Where did they find that platform? You can double jump and wallrun on anything and they choose the only bugged platform?
I've played all major Monster Hunter games and World was just the best. It made you really feel like your part of the game's ecology. It felt like a real living breathing world with all the details it had to provide. Rise has a lot of new and interesting mechanics sure. But after playing World and really take in all that it has to offer alongside Iceborne, Rise just fell short of something. If I had to say what it was I'd say that it's missing life? Idk. Just my 2 cents.
I agree. My friends really liked Rise, but I always felt it was missing something. They told me to wait for Sunbreak since World had Iceborne, and that would fill the gap. Beat Sunbreak, had an amazing time, but still felt like something was missing. Finally recently went back to World solo. Did a simple hunt, and after dropping a boulder on a zinogre, taking the fulgur bugs so it wouldn't have its charge anymore, I realized what it was. It was that sense of HUNTING a MONSTER. Rise felt too easy. I never HAD to use traps. I still did, sometimes. But I spent my downtime on the dog chasing the monster whenever it ran. In World, I spent my downtime gathering supplies, refreshing equipment, checking the area, setting traps, checking the map to see if another monster might drop in or be close enough to lure to it, etc. It really made me feel like I was a normal* human hunting something dangerous. Rise, I was the only dangerous thing there, so I never had to try except for certain event style quests. There was little more than hit it till it dies. I was doing the same thing, every single hunt.
Rise also had the huge drawback of being made to run on the Switch so they definitely focused way more on the new combat system and its verticality whereas World is more about immersion (hence Rise being called Rise with vertical combat and World being called world because they wanted to breathe life into the World you’re exploring)
I’d say world looks more natural and areas are easier to explore at times, the ground details of world is superb and the various weather is a nice touch
This video perfectly shows why MH:IB has a special place in my heart. I love small details like this. The world feels so alive with all those animations. Don’t get me wrong I love Sunbreak (not base rise), but the amount of details, the alive feeling, the environment & animations in W:IB is just next level. A mix between these two would be a dream MH game. W:IB graphics, level of detail with the combat of R:Sunbreak
That may be a possibility for the next world equivalent, there are things however that can't be translated well between rise and a world 2 like skill swap or wire bugs, though the palamutes may become a permanent addition along with the fighting style changes. But I feel like a compariaon between the two games is like comparing 4u or Gen U to world, they arent a good comparison because of hardware limitations in the former and the intricacies of the latter. I will agree that it would be dope if they manage to prove me wrong tho, I'll eat my own words with pride if they succeed
The people in this community can be so funny sometimes. They talk about iceborne like it was a good friend who died and was replaced by someone worse. You know you can play both games right and enjoy them for different reasons, or just play the one you prefer. Different strokes for different folks.
@@Nanda-hl7gi Hard disagree. I've played World the entire way through twice and have done the same with Rise. They are both good Monster Hunter. World is better, but Rise is good. Wirebugs may be the best thing that has ever happened to Greatsword play (which I main)
@@KrillinInTheNameOfthey added wirebugs because they wanted to keep wedgebug-grappeling from world but the map design was too shallow and boring to add them anywhere
There is one thing the pose set in Rise has over the system in World. You get to talk like William Shatner in time with the poses, and it weirdly works well.
MHW feels like a passion project with so much content and detail. Remember the awesome FF and Witcher collabs? MHR feels like a fighting game. I don't want to explore the maps of rise. I'm there to kill stuff with combos. Also positioning and risk management no longer matters because you can counter every monster attack.
People don’t realize world was meant for next gen consoles and their hardware capabilities, but rise was originally for the switch which has obvious limitations.
I have a feeling world was all about an immersive experience, while rise is about gameplay mechanics. I'd love to see both mixed together in the next mh game, even if it takes a year longer. Of course we can't forget, that rise was made for switch and during cover times, but I really miss the living world world and iceborne had to offer, but I don't want some of it's issues (power creep, weapon design, tenderising parts, deco grind and also mantels). Overall I'm just looking forward to what new surprises Capcom will offer us with mh6, but right now I'm hyped for the sun break title updates. :)
Rise has WAY worse mechanics too if you disregard the worst mechanics of each, so clutch claw and wyvern riding. Rise just turns every fight into a snoozefest of mashing silkbind off cooldown. Extremely boring to play.
@Smiths Fist I'd honestly have to disagree specifically with the power creep. I'll just use my favorite weapon, aka Charge Blade, as a small example. When you have access to all the weapons there's a ton of options. For impact phials there's Fatalis, Raging Brachy, Gold Rath, Ruiner Nergi, Rajang (If you can fix the crit just like with Fatalis), Shara Ishvalda, Safi blast and Safi poison. Now granted I haven't played any other MH besides World, but that's a ton of options. Obviously Fatalis wins out but not by much, plus he's the absolute final boss, he should have the best gear regardless. Weapon design I can understand and agree, specifically with discarding older models in favor of the bone variants with monster parts stuck on them, otherwise I think MHWI's weapon and armor design is great.
@@zyliantheviking6016 Thanks for replying like a normal person, not like some other people here. What I meant with power creep is, most of the new armor sets that came with title updates were instant in meta sets (that’s something you could care about, but yeah). Personally I didn’t even get to fight raging brachy, fatalis and co. Didn’t feel like I could beat this challenge, maybe some time I will, so my opinion on their armor is mostly based in theory. Clutch claw was a bit of a disappointment for me, because it made base world like super easy. I main hammer and you can do some really nice combos with cc so it was a slaughter fest, but when trying different weapons it felt a bit cleanly to use, but also, only personal feeling. Lastly, weapon design. Even if icebornes design was better then worlds, I played a bit of freedom unite and old weapon design is just way cooler, and for my part I craft most weapons and armor for the looks of them, I just like looking cool. In conclusion, I’m happy for you if you didn’t have any real problems with world, I was just talking about what I liked and disliked about both games, and my hopes for the future of the series.
Don't know why but the heat exposure comparison made me laugh, it was just really funny to see someone dying sweating a river then immediately change to someone unaffected with no warning
I hope they push the ecological interaction even more in gen 6, I love seeing this huge beasts just act like normal animals rather than movie monsters, makes it feel more real yk
Why did I read "huge beasts" differenty
Nahhhhh... I would rather like to see the monster/beast in Gen 6 act more like in the Jurassic Park & World.
Ye we will probably see it more in the new world however lore wise it dosnt make sense for monsters to act normal in hunting zones

2 underrated details in World that I absolutely adore;
-Elder Dragons physically change the appearance of the locales they appear in.

Simply the difference between a console/ PC vs a handheld title. Sadly handhelds just don't get the same resources and are limited on the power the hardware provides.
Remember that this is made by dev team 2, so world2 will be better in detail, probably already in development too
Also one thing I noticed when I first fought the Barioth from the story quest, is when you are hanging from wedge beetles, he will try to swat you like the effing cat that he is.

Too bad probably all of that makes my Ryzen 7 3700X and RX 5700 XT beg for mercy.

I have been playing since the first Monster Hunter & MHW was literally the best in years by far & I hope to see more like it in the future. I still play MHW every chance I get.
Same here. Still have my ps2 copy. Just no working controllers or memory cards. Lol
@@Happyfoam-lw3yt /v/ boi
Still bs and not immersive. Should've improved stage/map design or increased monster vertical traversal ability rather than doing something like that.

World is fun in catching pets and collect monster informations , Rise has cool weapon designs and can fly
The wirebug thing looks rediculous. It has the appearance of space age lasers. I do not like.

I think the way of how they put the key quests is still better in World. It's similar to MH4U.
High key agree

And I love both of them.
I reckon capcom just gave nintendo the gwak gwak 9000 and said "Who cares about quality when you can have 12 FPS"
World/Iceborn series and Rise/Sunbreak series are basically like the good ol' MH main vs MH portable series
If you go compare say Monster Hunter Tri vs Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the differences would've been a looooot more glaring.
With this in mind, Rise/Sunbreak actually did a very decent job.
Especially it was for switch promotion so that's also why it's far smaller scale since switch can't handle World

If world had counter peak performance I would never need to play Rise once I’m done with it
Different dev teams, different engines, different philosophies.

UE5, an actually good story, and pushing the environment system/ai to its new limits.

true
@@toottootsonicwarrior5777 Have you played any mh before World?
So true, rise does have flashier attacks,if that makes sense, but worlds felt like they were actually hurting the monster
I swear most hunting horn users I meet, (who ain't corner horners) have the biggest balls of steel, (and often get clapped because of it 😅)
I mean, running straight to the face of a monster preparing to fry your ass, hoping to stun it with your next song/attack is pretty ballsy. (Something I've cough-cough absolutely never cough-cough done before)
Another minor danger is, not remembering your songs, pausing to look at songs too often, hyper focusing on your next song, and losing attention on your surroundings, it's not a weapon for folk who struggle to multi-task, it's a difficult weapon grab the reins of and thus is not often recommended to newbies.
The unique songs added in iceborne are gone, (really missing that speed boosting song and so are all my dual blade friends who enjoyed receiving it and just going nuts)
And the songs themselves...
More appropriately the way it's done...
Not a fan...
Just spam a note twice, song plays.
Before you had a unique note sequence for every song, then you had to play it, which was risky but gave massive benefits once pulled off. (Plus it felt sick as hell and I loved the boom it made, felt powerful)
Man I'm just really missing the way iceborne did the horn.

@@saceurai6629 oh yea the hitlag, everything certainly does feel slower in iceborne won't lie, rise is very gotta-go-fast, I appreciate it when farming, but it almost feels... Too fast sometimes, like I get suprised at how the longest I seem to take on hunts is around about 5-10 minutes, when in iceborne it's usually 10-15 minutes is my faster hunts (and this is playing casually of course, if I really tried I probably could end a hunt super fast it's just effort 😅)
Totally agree about the oomph and heavy weapons feeling absolutely nuts.

I prefer Rise a lot more. MHWorld thick environments full of stuff were unnecessary for me, I just want to hunt. It's why arena quests are some of my favorites. Another detail in World/Iceborne is that if a monster hasn't spotted you, you can use the slinger to lead them to the spot you fired at. Great for setting up an opening topple.
Yes, I always use that especially in arenas just before shooting the environment on top of it to cheat out damage 😂
The official intro for anjanath when you finally hunt it world for the first time actually does show you can do this. your character uses the slinger to lead it under the rock trap in the ancient forest.
I use it to lure teostra to the dragonrazer in the frozen arena event quest lol. They set this detail up in the Anjanath cutscene early on.
@@TuriGamer Yeah it’s an intended feature because the aforementioned Anjanath cutscene shows you how to do it. It works just fine.
In the older games and Iceborne the only way to get them to leave was huck dung bombs at them, which didn't always force the monster to leave instantly and they'd sometimes still get a couple attacks in.
a thing i always did in this situations is hit the mosnter your fighting with the dungbomb and not the invader mosnter
the dung bomb adds a huge load to the i think called scare/fear system what makes a monster in the end leave an area
but cause in most cases the invader is way stronger then the monster your fighting
its more likely the mosnter you fight will get scared and move on then the other way around

The only reason Rise does not have all those things that World has is because Rise is mainly a handheld game that was ported to pc
It's that simple. They couldn't add half of the things that World has because of limitations and the other half wasn't added because Wire Bug mechanics that was added to not make another plain old monster hunter

They just decided to make rise like previous games, it makes sense since rise is on the same continent as other games and world spans a new world
This game really makes you feel like Batman.
Rise also had the huge drawback of being made to run on the Switch so they definitely focused way more on the new combat system and its verticality whereas World is more about immersion (hence Rise being called Rise with vertical combat and World being called world because they wanted to breathe life into the World you’re exploring)

World feels better to play too though. Clutch claw aside.
Rise has WAY worse mechanics too if you disregard the worst mechanics of each, so clutch claw and wyvern riding. Rise just turns every fight into a snoozefest of mashing silkbind off cooldown. Extremely boring to play.
Are you telling me a game called Monster Hunter WORLD has a huge emphasis on the WORLD?? Genius....
