@@Doomguyhunter1 Even without it, Fatalis is still crazy OP when his horns aren't broken. Even a single broken horn isn't enough to reduce his power down to manageable levels for other Monsters.
This is one of the reasons that Fatalis has Fatal in his name his damage basically eclipsed everyone else while not even being close. I can only imagine the kind of power he had in the earlier games while being able to easily one shot properly geared hunters
I remember obtaining Fatalis's full armored set, I went back to kill Tzitzi-Ya-Ku about 100 times for always third-partying us and or just being annoying when trying to kill it.
@ShatterIsMyName at least you knew helmbreaker was a thing, i went all the way into iceborne (up to fulgur anjanath quest) without knowing the helm break attack was a thing

Everyone here talking about how Fatalis takes the top spot by such a gap and how it syncs with the music and I'm here just appreciating how cool Safi'jiiva's special attack looks.
Not to mention that it doesn’t even matter the damage it does because it just bypasses defence. The devs probably just gave it a random number because it doesn’t matter.
@@Stratelier i dont know the solution to this however statues are technically their own element. maybe its the element of wind preassure and this guy uses ranged weapons with their element def up. either way i agree the tail is much scarier and i use greatsword and charge blade (physical def weapons).

It’s to counteract star buffs, item, and skill stacks that could potentially allow you to survive something you shouldn’t. Teammate buffs could also help.
@@thegreatgamingkid8252 I'm also pretty sure they made it like that, instead of the usual guaranteed one shot mechanic no matter what so that when you break Fatalis's head you can survive it pretty reliably if you're tanky enough.
Me, seeing Zorah Magdaros deal over 1600 damage: "Must be near the end of the video now." Me, checking the progress bar: "Alrighty! This just got a lot more interesting!"
An object lesson in why putting on the Rocksteady mantle can kill you in seconds. Sometimes it's better to take a single hit and then have a lie down while the monster finishes doing their attack.
Shame that we can't know the damage from older games. I always wondered how much damage the ultra beam of Nakarkos dealt. Enough to kill you through valor stance at least.
I believe valor stance always left you alive if it absorbed the attack, so even if you had 1hp you would still be able to survive any attack (as long as valor stance actually absorbs the attack); so I think - if it is in fact correct that the Nakarkos beam is strictly unsurvivable through valor stance, which I personally can't verify since I've never fought him - that it would be that it outright ignored valor stance and hit you through it.
@@dragskcinnay3184 the attack might have multiple ticks of it's damage being applied so you might get put to 1hp with the first hit in VS but than hit again, dead.
@@Willow4526 it's possible, but when you absorb an attack with valor stance, after absorbing, you have i-frames I'm pretty sure. So if the multiple hits were the explanation, you would valor sheath the attack, and then get killed at the end of the animation, which I don't think is what he meant So I think there is some other mecanism that bypasses valor stance, maybe something like the fact that the attack has a big hitbox, so it would sort of hit you from every direction (valor stance can't absorb attacks that come from behind iirc) ; the attack might have multiple tics of damage as well, but I don't think that's why it kills through valor stance
@@dragskcinnay3184 yeah fair enough, good points. So depending on if that animation/IFrames are still occuring is probably the key hint needed, if they aren't than yeah it's doing one of the many thing you've mentioned, I think for simplicity's sake it would probably just be applying damage directly to health without any other factors being considered. Either way, thing one shots ya haha.
You know what I miss about this game, it was feeling like a immortal wall as a lance main, I used to love guarding through ruiner nerg’s divebomb and countering with a huge hit, I still don’t understand why they nerfed lance by making chip damage so much higher in rise, we lance mains barely exist as a group why did we need nerfs 😂
what do you even mean ? at highest level play, Lance in mhw iceborne is the second worst weapon in terms of damage, only better than the hunting horn (which is normal) and it's far behind the other weapons in mhr sunbreak lance isn't even considered a bad weapon as hammer, long sword, insect glaive, gunlance and hunting horn are all behind it (in order of damage from most to least) though it's good to note than mhr is better balanced than mhw for melee weapons, there isn't really clear best or worst weapons this is in average using data from all speedruns record recorded and posted to the respective mh speedruns websites, excluding glitched/exploit speedruns in casual play, some weapons can feel better than others as they're easier to play (im thinking about LS specifically there) but that doesn't mean the more complex weapon is worse
@@megavolt67 that doesn't change how it got stronger in rise, The shield potential didnt lower and now lance got big new counters with all the s that come with it. + We got new defensive skills like intrepid heart or heaven-sent that weren't in world. That thing legit scared me back then, i hunted fulgur earlier and thankfully he didn't do his ult but then it took my by surprise when he did that once i helped someone's SOS, barely avoided it and i was left with "WTF" face for a while, i did know for sure that would be insta-kill if i got hit with gears i had that time.

Plus, the occasional gags were amazing! Seeing Uragaan just... run over the the stake was genuinely hilarious. (And oh my goodness, that little extra at the very end... incredible. xD)
Okay, first question: What did this almighty pillar do to upset so many monsters and why can't it even be scratched by the strongest living creatures? :O
Beside that it's always cool to see monsters' attacks in all their beauty (not from the crotch perspective with a wildly spinning camera) and those were some incredible shots indeed. I mean... Banbaro's impressive aiming skills, Uragaan just rolling by, Brute Tigrex' saliva into the camera, all time classic Cactuar, Lunastra scratching her neck... This video really made me laugh quite a few times and the numbers are pretty daunting!
Thanks for your enormous efforts. Amazingly done as always!

The pole is too OP for them. It's the most durable thing in MH for surviving unphased by the ruinous pyroclasm. Bro got some serious tank build shit going on lmao
One of my favorite things about this game is how early on you face Nergigante, knowing he does this attack that's so high ranking.... and the devs are just like... 'lolz, welcome to feeling like a true hunter!'
Fainted twice soloing Nergigante in base story. No faints whatsoever otherwise
Ironically with all the jumping about and lack of wind-down, Nergigante, the flagship of World, feels like a Rise monster
I thought the same about ancient leshen, nearly 3700 damage on the crows?? I wonder how that translates to Hunter health 😂

Strange, in my experience Paolumu's wind bullet isn't much to write home about, it's the aerial tail slam that carts me.
Mayhaps you have elemental resistances to that attack but not enough raw def?
@@sudanemamimikiki1527 "Wind" isn't an element in MH.

i thought safi jiiva nuke was a multi hit attack, guess not. also gotta love the mh team for making an attack do 200k damage to hunters with a max hp pool of like 200 lmao. nice video, long live mh and its community
It’s to counteract star buffs, item, and skill stacks that could potentially allow you to survive something you shouldn’t. Teammate buffs could also help.
I think the fire is a continuous damage effect, but it's not registered against non player entities.
@@thegreatgamingkid8252 I'm also pretty sure they made it like that, instead of the usual guaranteed one shot mechanic no matter what so that when you break Fatalis's head you can survive it pretty reliably if you're tanky enough.

Or white fatty's instakill attack :0
@@dragskcinnay3184 the attack might have multiple ticks of it's damage being applied so you might get put to 1hp with the first hit in VS but than hit again, dead.
@@Willow4526 it's possible, but when you absorb an attack with valor stance, after absorbing, you have i-frames I'm pretty sure. So if the multiple hits were the explanation, you would valor sheath the attack, and then get killed at the end of the animation, which I don't think is what he meant
So I think there is some other mecanism that bypasses valor stance, maybe something like the fact that the attack has a big hitbox, so it would sort of hit you from every direction (valor stance can't absorb attacks that come from behind iirc) ; the attack might have multiple tics of damage as well, but I don't think that's why it kills through valor stance

You know what I miss about this game, it was feeling like a immortal wall as a lance main, I used to love guarding through ruiner nerg’s divebomb and countering with a huge hit, I still don’t understand why they nerfed lance by making chip damage so much higher in rise, we lance mains barely exist as a group why did we need nerfs 😂
what do you even mean ?
at highest level play, Lance in mhw iceborne is the second worst weapon in terms of damage, only better than the hunting horn (which is normal)
and it's far behind the other weapons
in mhr sunbreak lance isn't even considered a bad weapon as hammer, long sword, insect glaive, gunlance and hunting horn are all behind it (in order of damage from most to least)
though it's good to note than mhr is better balanced than mhw for melee weapons, there isn't really clear best or worst weapons
this is in average using data from all speedruns record recorded and posted to the respective mh speedruns websites, excluding glitched/exploit speedruns
in casual play, some weapons can feel better than others as they're easier to play (im thinking about LS specifically there) but that doesn't mean the more complex weapon is worse
@@nenrikido2903 He's not talking about the lance as an offensive weapon, but as a defensive weapon. That's what he enjoyed most about it.
