Apple Demo - Grisaille Oil Painting - 5"x7"

I wanted to do something special with my Facebook group by providing a different kind of challenge for members to get involved with. Typical painting challenges require everyone to paint the same image and submit the finished result for everyone to see. But I think the journey is just as interesting as the destination. In order to incorporate that idea, I knew I needed to make our challenges about the process as well as the product.
In order to complete the challenge, participants must document, in some way, the process of painting and submit it along with an image of the finished painting. Documentation can be in written form with pictures or in the form of a video.
This is my contribution to our first group challenge.
Materials used:
Ivory Black and Titanium White oil paint from Gamblin and Rembrandt.
Brushes by Rosemary & Co., Hamburg Premier, and my own custom line.
Canvas panel by Artist's Loft (heavily treated with acrylic to prevent absorption).
This painting was done in two layers approximately 1.5 weeks apart. The drawing was done with Burnt Umber and Titanium White acrylic paint. The canvas was coated with three coats of Amsterdam Expert Acrylic Titanium Buff prior to drawing.
