This is the beginning of the block-in stage. I have broken it up into several sections to make it easier to follow. In the first segment here, the bird's head is blocked in as well as the eye.
This has been designed as a free step-by-step instructional series covering the process of painting a bird on a small canvas panel using oil paint. The lessons can be followed using a stretched canvas or a canvas panel. All of the materials needed for the course are available at the link below.
