With being a college student, working, trying to manage my mental health, and trying to start my own candle business actually drives me INSANE!! It all just overwhelms me and give me extreme anxiety. I just recently made the choice of deleting ALL social media platforms. I’ve been without it for three days now and I feel so relaxed. Social media can be an extreme toxic environment, it can just pull you in for hours and lose sooo much time. Love your videos Erica!! You do an amazing job, hope you’re able to figure out how to balance everything!

    Wonderful video and topic, Erica!
I have perfect balance, I work a full time job from 10:30am to 9pm Saturday thru Tuesday, from 6am to 9am I'm working on my business, go to work then from 9:45pm till 1 or 2am back working on my business, days off from 6am till 2am working on my business, sleep 4 hours and back at it. No breaks, days off come when success is reached, there is soooo much to do, It's my whole life, its all I can think about, I LOVE it and WILL be successful!!

Thank you for not only showing your process, but Thank you for sharing your tips to manage mental health and time management when your running your own business. I'm a new business owner and I'm learning a lot by watching entrepreneurs like you, cause I fell like I have no idea what I'm doing sometimes and I have to juggle a lot because I have two jobs and building my business and I'm a single mom with two kids and active at my church, so sometimes I feel like I'm being pulled in so many directions and it gets very overwhelming. So Thank you so much for sharing how you manage everything that you do and just simply setting time limits for things and listening to your body will definitely help with mental health and balance in life. Love this video Thank you so much and keep doing what you're doing. God Bless you and your family and your Business 😊

The secret to anxiety is not to fight off the feelings and the thoughts, but to see them and see through them. That way, even if they pop up, you are ok. Before you can let something go, you gain strength and consciousness by letting it exist. But you see through it.

Hi. I’ve watched several of your videos. They are extremely helpful. I’ve been wanting to make candles and wax melts for over a year now. Your videos of very detailed. I’ve bought wax melts at wholesale and resold them but would love to make. I have a jewelry and accessories boutique of which I’m selling off my products over a period of time. I’m also an accountant working part time. Once my inventory is much smaller, I intend to start candle making. I’m older but have no plans to fully retire anytime soon. Would still want to work my business part time (with help if need be, just as I currently have an assistant). Thank you so much for sharing your experience and expertise in such detail. I have many more of your videos to watch! ❤😊

I feel you with the anxiety plus empathy towards other people, it can be a lot to handle at times.
I just wanted to let you know that your videos have been very insightful and I've learned alot through you and standley handcrafted about candle making. You two are probably my most favorite candle makers so far lol, there's a few others that I watch also.
UA-cam is such a great platform for teaching and learning new skills.
I can't wait to start my own candle journey, I finally have all my supplies just waiting on my shipment of wax. I've been doing a ton of research for over a year and a half and I'm definitely feeling ready.
Thanks for being such a great youtuber!

When you mentioned the full time job with doing this job on the side, you're absolutely right! I've been slowly building my candle company up while I'm working all over the clock and when I finished all my startup product, I was so mentally and physically drained that my boyfriend (who has been helping me through everything) was about to tell me to stop for a couple weeks. I love doing it but breaks are SO IMPORTANT and I can't stress that enough!

Fascinating to me that people use schedules for running their day to day life. I have no schedule. I feel trapped and tied down. I do things when they need to be done. I TANK when I plan! Having a set time for everything stresses me out so bad just thinking about it. I don't know why but I learned years ago (and I'm pushing senior citizen status) that some people need schedules and some people do things when they need to be done. I don't think there are many like minded people like that out there but I just wanted to let you know that if you do think this way, it's okay. Everyone is different. When you are young life can be confusing sometimes trying to sort it all out but the main thing to remember is getting all upset and worried and stressed isn't going to help. Choose your battles. Don't sweat the small stuff and in the grand scheme of life, it's ALL small stuff.
I ordered those black spray bottles. They are AWESOME. Also labels. When I need a label size I know all I need to do is watch one of your videos and click on the label link. I mean really, what other UA-camr does that? Putting the exact label link. I wish I had your savy when I was your age. I had to find out all this stuff the hard way. No UA-cam in the olden days. Thanks for giving out all that information.

So very true about the pressure to work all the time. I feel that if I am not working/making in all my free time, I feel guilty. I never say no when people ask me to make things, then I panic about getting it done and making it correctly. I get tight muscles in my shoulders and neck. I am an anxiety ridden person to begin with so it does get out of control. I doubt myself all the time. I sometimes feel like I am fooling people , they think I have it all together and I don’t.

To reduce spillage from the bottles, use the stirrer. Hold the stirrer against the opening of the bottle and allow the liquid to drain into the pitcher. In this way, you reduce the amount of liquid that flows on the outside of the bottle. And it will be easier to keep the bottles clean.

Is there a way to make the room spray clear instead of cloudy?

  • @Izybuzy
    @Izybuzy 3 роки тому +1

I do like making spray, and it ends up clear with high amount polysorbate 80. Maybe 1:1 with fragrance. But keep it mind, more polysorbate means the water will be a bit sticky. And also it depends with the fragrance.
Some fragrances require more polysorbate to make it clear.
Anyway I still wonder about the difference between distilled water and demineralized water. I always use demineral water, and have no problem with it so far. Maybe it could be a good alternative to distilled water

I am currently working as a teacher and doing candles is a side job (hoping to make it a full time job) and I have to write what I am going to do every day so that I limit my time working because I tend to start something and then move to the next and next think I know is night already 🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s exhausting and exciting at the same time.

WSP has an EO/FO modifier which does what poly 20 does but it does not make your mix cloudy.

Hey Erica, love your videos. How do you calculate the cost of the room sprays and how much it costs to make one?

Oh wow! I absolutely understand what you’re saying! I started a small business called Ruby Slippers Soap Company and I’ve felt all the things you’re talking about. Thank you for being so open and honest.

I’m so grateful for your knowledge and sharing. I just made my first batch. I only got 4.5 bottles. Is this something I did incorrectly?

Hi I have a question on which method you use to ship room sprays. My husband and I are owners of Anthology Home Decor and we recently began selling rooms sprays with the same size bottles as yours. However, usps will not allow shipping of room sprays in priority, only ground (at least in Las Vegas post offices). So we are looking for help with this. We are using WordPress and woocommerce. The plug ins are not great. How do you manage a shipment that has rooms sprays and candles? Do you ship both items together or do you ship them separately? And how do you set up customer prolies that enables two separate shipping costs within the same order. Any advice is greatly appreciated. And viewers advice is greatly appreciated.

How do you like the sprayer itself? I bought glass bottles for oils we use at home and the sprayer is so hard to push down. So I was thinking about buying the other sprayers that are like the cleaning product sprayers when I purchase these vials. What do you think?
