      @@GG-xz7nv- I have never experienced what you are experiencing. For this base, I use Midwest fragrances - as well as, Makesy, Brambleberry, Morouge Canada and Crafter’s Choice - at 5% fragrance load. @@BellaRayneJewelryCo Thanks for your feedback. I’ll have to try the Black Sea one. Seems that it’s just certain scents that don’t perform well with it. Others have also said more sweet gourmand bakery/food type scents didn’t work well for them because the odor eliminating ingredient, so I think it may also have something to do with the vanillin percentage in each FO as well as the ingredients each one is made from etc. More testing in my future lol, gotta love it.😅

    • @calafiacandleco
      @calafiacandleco  Рік тому

      I would say the pros are how quick and easy it is to use, the clear formula, that it’s also an odor eliminator, and I do find the scent to last longer. The cons would be that you go through it fast. One 16oz bottle of the base will only make four 4oz sprays, so you do have to bulk up on the base if you’re going to be making a lot.

      Hello! Yes, you don't need to add anything to the base. That's a great question and I don't know that I have the best answer for that. I would say probably a year or so, as most fragrance oil companies will say their fragrance oils have a shelf life of about a year. I've also read that oils can stay good for two years or longer if stored in a dark, cool place.

    • @calafiacandleco

      I weigh out all of my ingredients by grams, so the 4oz is the total net weight of the ingredients.

    What would be the formula for 2 oz bottles ?

    • @calafiacandleco
      @calafiacandleco  Рік тому

      Hi there. You would just use the same idea but swap out the 4oz for 2. Convert to grams if you wish. So, if you choose to do 5% fragrance load, you would multiply .05 x 2oz to get the amount of fragrance you would need.

      No alcohol needed with this base. I know some recipes where you make your own base require alcohol, but you do not need to add anything to this base.

    Hi Bree! I see on your ingredient list for the room spray, you list optiphen as an ingredient, which isn't an ingredient listed in Midwest's base. What percentage should that be? When did you add the optiphen? I re-watched the video but must be missing that part? Thanks Bree

    • @calafiacandleco
