HOW TO SET INTO YOUR FLIP:
1: Get a good amount af speed and run forward
2: Jump at a 45 degree angle and lightly plant the balls of your feet onto the ground.
3: Rebound off as you jump up with your arms in the air.
    4: FLIP (See Below)
    HOW TO FRONT FLIP STEPS:
1: Understand that you should not flip unless you are properly prepared and have proper supervision.
2: You need to be able to get as much hight as possible (make sure jump up before trying to go over)
3: YOUR ARMS SHOULD BE UP. Keep them by your ears and wip them along with your upper body down to your knees. (It helps to bend back a little to get even more force)
4: Now that you jumped up and then slamed your arms and body down toward your knees tuck hard by grabbing your shins and get tight.
5: As your body starts to rotate over let your knees go and open up to slow yourself down and stop from over rotating.
6: Land on the balls of your feet with bent knees and lightly absorb the impact..
    7: Celebrate
    8:Practice, Practice, Practice
Please post any video responses or questions you may have on doing a back flip. Remember it is very important that you prepare for this trick and only attempt it when you are ready to fully commit to the move.

front flips feel easier because your body feels safer doing it. when going backwards although it is theoretically easier it does not feel safe so your mind tells you not to do it however that's where you need to learn to empty your mind and just do it

I think it is best to get over the fear into a foam pit becuase I landed on my head a couple of times... Also don't wear skinny jeans whe doing it :P

That's so true, I have tried many times to learn how to do a front but I can never land it because I over rotate or land on my, that being said, I don't really practice flips.
I do however have landed a back flip many times after the first day I got over the fear of doing it.
You just gotta trust yourself 100% when attempting a back or any flips really.

A trampoline is a good way to do it too, also film yourself when you do something like a frontflib landing on your back/hips. Then watch your head and see how short the amount of time is that you are actually upside down

For any people who have problems with this, go on google, search for a parkour academy close to you and join, this will help much because of your bodies natural defense mechanism that is keeping you from doing the flip, this is a very hard flip and doing it in a foam pit until you can actually land it is much safer and easier with professional help... Jesse la Flair is our icon in beginners parkour and we all would like to thank you for the inspiration that you have given us, who want to do this

@abed elgilani in a front flip, you dont have the flow of movement like a backflip, making it more crucial to tuck (the tuck is crucial no matter what, but i think you get the jist).

    Hey,
I'm coming at this from a trampolining perspective so the biomechanics are the same.
Often the reason people rotate slightly off axis is because they're dipping one shoulder before the other. This is like a safety thing you do so you won't land on your head. Just be conscious of it and keep practicing. Probably helps if you video yourself flipping and watch it from multiple angles.

Hey, I can't figure out how to do a front flip & fail every time. I uploaded what I can do to my channel & was wondering if you could see it & let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks

Jesse do you close your eyes and flip or is it easier to keep them open

The safety roll, then the precision jump, then wallrun or tic-tac, then whatever you feel the more fun AND confident to do. Even before and even while practising these basic moves it's important to do some conditioning and flexibility training. You'd better check more websites and tutorials for more details before starting.
