I remember in elementary school being jealous of other kids with lunchables not realizing how good I had it with my mom making my lunches with real food. Thanks, Mom!
Yeah, funny enough when i was in elementary school i had lunchables. But a few years later i saw on how unhealthy they were, and also how much lead is contained within them, however, i took action into my own hands and learn to just make breakfast and lunch myself.
That kid was probably neglected by his parents, no time to show some love with cooked food. Yes, indeed U were the lucky one in the scenerio. If I see a kid with processed food instead of a home cook lunch in a box, I would Pity that kiddo
Lunchly is "healthier" than Lunchables is like saying drinking 23 beers a week is healthier than drinking 24. Technically that's right. Great video (as always!)
I'm from Chile, South America. It really surprises me how people in the United States are so used to eating processed food for breakfast or lunch. I am grateful to have had a mother who was used to healthy food, there is always fruit at home and we don't even drink soda or processed juices.
As someone in America my dad is very good at buying healthy food. I think I’ve had parts of my friends lunchable but never have actually eaten it for lunch!
Processed foods are way cheaper and they also come in bulk. So it’s way more tempting to buy a bag of chicken nuggets that last a month than fresh fruits that cost the same but only last a week.
Being from Italy I can’t really fathom there could be a discussion about this. That’s a not meal, not matter how you think about it, that’s feeding your kids with trash.
Yeah like why would anybody like eating cold pizza with a side of energy drink and a chocolate bar in their lunch? It literally looks unhealthy and just not tasty.
I'm going to explain this from the perspective of American prosperity theology. KSI, Logan Paul, and Mr Beast have💰💰💰--> God loves them --> they are moral. It is important to teach kids to idolize them and have them consume their dangerous products so that they might also be favored by hypercapitalist Jesus.
@@gwynbleidd71 Its not, i can understand the turkey cheese and crackers, i ate plently of lunchables like that but i could never understand why anyone would want to eat cold dough with sauce and cheese.
Adding meaningful discourse without overtly attacking someone is so difficult to do. I think Doc really did a wonderful job with this one. It's a video that makes you think. One that highlights the importance of taking things with a grain of salt.

As a mom, my biggest issue with Lunchables and the like is that the marketing is predatory. Children don't have the knowledge about nutrition to discern whether or not the marketing is honest. They just blindly believe it and walk away thinking that ultraprocessed food it healthy. Also, can we address the cost of stuff like this???? I can pack a much healthier and calorie dense version of this for the same cost!
And all you have to do is help to understand what marketing and advertisements are, pay more attention to what they're consuming, whilst proving without a shadow of a doubt, that what you say is correct, but at the end of the day, there's gonna be some FOMO in their underdeveloped mind.

As a Norwegian, the whole concept of a company stating their product is better than a named brand from another company is mind boggling (it’s illegal here).
I'm not sure anyone is attacking them for "trying to create a successful influencer product." They're being rightfully attacked for aggressively marketing a product to children that is not in any way good for children. It's sugar, sodium, and fat (and possibly also lead which has been found in Prime before) in colorful packaging. If we can rip into cereal brands for marketing sugar bombs to kids, there is no reason we should not be allowed to rip into these three equally guilty people.
They put so many things like this in our food as well. Society is being lied so much! I read "The 23 Former Doctor Truths" by Lauren Clark. Its fascinating how she talks about Industry.

We grew up super poor and so my mom would make "lunchables" by buying real cheese and lunch meat from the deli and cutting them out with small cookie cutters in fun shapes and fill a bottle with home made lemonade.
The pathetic part of this is that a real lunchables product made from the "poor person food" would end up costing up to multiple TIMES more money than the crappy ultraprocessed stuff
Hopefully people are staying away, because I see Prime at the Dollar Tree, and even for $1.25 it's still not worth it. It's not worth free, actually. But I bet Dollar Tree bought all the unsold bottles from bigger grocery stores, because they couldn't sell it. Just a guess.
I'm surprised that nobody comments on the fact that the real reason why Lunchly has less calories than Lunchables is that Lunchly weights 2.5 oz while Lunchables is 3.2 oz. And they pack less food for twice the price.
The idea that Lunchly was promoted to be "healthier" or "better for you" than Lunchables got under my skin because this not only sounded like some bitter competition to me, but even I have known how untrue that was. I remember being so jealous of kids that did have Lunchables when I was growing up in school. They wouldn't even share a bite if I asked. My parents refused to purchase them because they found them non-nutritious. They sometimes made the lunches or I did when I could learn. I have never eaten one until today and don't regret it. As a result of the encouragement, I can prepare better meals than either of these packaged ones. A massive "Thank You" to my parents and to Doctor Mike for this video.

Great job staying informed! Keep it up! You're crushing it! Psychopaths like Logan Paul, KSI and their ilk sort of move under the radar of grownups. Working at an elementary school I remember when Prime came on the scene and the kids went crazy for it. Everything was about getting the latest color or finding the "rare ones" and of course they were all unreasonably expensive bottles containing mostly food dye and sugar, sometimes with trace amounts of lead for good measure. Now the hype of Prime has died down and LP risk getting sued by the manufacturer because he can't deliver on his promise of an endless market so the slimy fucker needs new ways to shift inventory. Logan Paul and KSI are predatory serial grifters, intentionally targeting children.

My father is a lifelong smoker (thankfully otherwise in good health) and after multiple unsuccessful attempts to quit over the years, he switched to vaping. I love my father and I'm glad that he has found something slightly less terrible for him, since he was not able to quit.
That’s what vapes were originally intended for, as a safer way for traditional smokers to wean off nicotine. It’s unfortunate they’ve become an entire problem of their own.
Yes! Thats wonderful news for your dad :D i also agree with the comment above me its sad to see that vapes are being used for the wrong purpose 🫤

I see people criticizing the Lunchly more for being very predatory, and it not being that much better than Lunchables is pro.of that they don't actually care about the well-being of kids, they just want to make a ton of money, and they can do that by making a similar product to their competitor, and then arguing that their competition is actually worse than them for x y reasons. That's why you see so many people criticizing it for 'not being perfect', because they set that expectation onto themselves, but the truth is that they're trying to exploit impressionable kids who don't know any better.
Yeah. It's not that they're not super healthy. The problem is they pretend to be significantly healthier than the competition, when it's almost the same trash.
