Sadly,After Effects relies heavily on the memory and the central processing unit of your computer rather than the graphics card or GPU within it. Tried and tested multiple times.
So does that mean a laptop with this specs is OK for Premiere Pro & After Effects? : i7-12700h 32GB DDR5 RTX 3050 ti 4GB I'll be editing mostly 4K/30fps footage.
...I wanted to do a switch from my win desktop machine with some older i5 processor and 32 GB of ram, mainly because I started to do more timelapses. I wanted to switch to apple and I somehow settled on the idea of getting MAX chip and 64 GB Ram. Based on some guys who are considered as industry leaders, I have been converting my image sequences into 6K PRORES 4444 video in After Effects. Besides rendering video file from image sequences, I used After Effects for cleaning- removing birds, dust spots and stabilizing the footage. Problem was loading of timeline after each edit. It took ages...and btw., I am working with quarter resolution (not with proxies yet). So after seeing videos, where presenters repeated over and over that even AIR or MINI are capable machines for video editing, I was like "ok, maybe I don´t have to dream about MAX chips with 64GB of ram". Yesterday, I performed a series of tests on Mac Studio with M1 MAX and 32 GB RAM...and surprise surprise, loading of timeline was the same pain like on my old win machine...so I am not sure, where could be the problem and what direction to choose now :D
after all these laptop videos on yt you start feeling like your life is going to change drastically after getting one .... i have to use my laptop for a month though .... damn that marketing brainwash
I'm struggling sooo much with choosing my new laptop. I want a nice slim design (preferably silver and no bigger than 14 inch) but its really important that i can render and do my graphic design on adobe creative cloud. So iguess 16gb and 500ssd (i think? Im just learning all this now)Would you have any recommendations?
I'm choosing between a 2021 Asus M16 with an i9-11800H (WQXGA) 1TB and a 2022 Asus M16 (WUXGA) with an i7-12700H 512GB. Will the 12th gen's performance and DDR5 make a lot of difference in video editing and after effects?
@@emilianop8598 You'll be future-proofing with the 2022 M16 with the i7. i7 and i9 has very little difference and the 512GB SSD can always be upgraded in the future. 2022 version has a MUX switch and is only WUXGA and not WQXGA, which is better for the RTX3060.
I have hp Envy convertible that you had a video about. I’m thinking about exchanging it with Mac book pro 14 inches. I feel like this Hp laptop will be a pain after some time as it sometimes get slow when i use it for adobe applications like photoshop and illustrator. I use it mostly for web development but I’m confused. Should i exchange it with apple or not?
Hello, Ben ! Great videos, thank you so much for your content! I have watched most of them as I want to buy a laptop to start learning and using AE and do some projection mapping as well. Do you think an Asus Vivobook Pro14 Oled, Ryzen 7, 5800 H, Rtx 3050, 16 Gb Ram would be enough to get me started? :) thank you!
Hi ben. Very informative video But I'd love to hear your opinion on the asus vivobook pro 14 or the asus vivobook pro 14x If you can...,if not than no problem But pleaseee do a review on them
I bought a pc desktop to use after effects and my workflow improved significantly.

If Asus Zephyrus G15 have the one that can flip 360° maybe I'm gonna consider it but specs wise it is super cool.
I am currently using my MacBook Air with 8GB RAM. As you could imagine, After Effects is super slow for me. Am i better off just buying a new laptop?
After Effects is generally a slow software but yes 8gb of ram is really a little for anything more than just basic every day work
My laptop w intel i3, 8gb ram, 200 gb storage runs easy projects on full haha
Those macs are crazy
Asus Vivobook K513
Asus Vivobook M513

Hey I'm facing the same decision right now. Mind telling me which one you went for and how it is working out for you?

Is 8gb is enough for after effects is true or not sir?😭
Personally I would go NO LESS than 16GB.
Can you please review, the msi Creator M16 3050 to laptop
how about i3 12th gen?
