         The weather is cooling down here in the Northern Hemisphere, which means it’s time to get those tea mugs ready. In this video, I’m sharing four of the teas (spearmint, ginger, green tea, and rooibos) I often recommend to my one-on-one clients who are preparing for pregnancy, actively trying to conceive, or planning to start trying in the near future.
    Tea is no magic bullet for fertility, but it can be a lovely addition to other lifestyle changes to support one's fertility.

    You can also make infuse the green tea in cold water for at least three hours, filter it and warm the liquid before drinking it

      In order to lower the theine levels*

      Handy tip for those who are especially sensitive to caffeine/ theine. Thanks for sharing!
      The levels of caffeine in green tea are already so much lower than a cup of coffee that most folks I’ve worked with can enjoy multiple cups of green tea a day (and still stay under the 200 mg of caffeine/ day mark) without issue.
      I haven’t looked into it but I’d be curious to know if the levels of any of the health-promoting compounds present in green tea would also be lower with a cold brew method. I’ll have to search! Thanks for piquing my curiosity.

    Euphoric Herbals is an awesome brand that makes a great blend of herbs for fertility. I’ve used it for a few years for hormonal regulation. I realized the efficacy of the blend when I drank the tea after suffering pms-induced insomnia and slept like a baby; it works like a charm. I also incorporate PQQ and CoQ10 for egg health.

      Yessss! Lovely combination. I like to blend rooibos, ginger, and cinnamon (I’ll sometimes add cacao nibs too!). So tasty!

      Awww, I'm happy to hear you're happy the video is back.
      Grocery stores, local herbalists and tea shops, as well as Mountain Rose Herbs, are some of my favorite places.

      Hi there! It’s not one I recommend to my clients or drink myself so I really can’t say. I would defer to an herbalist, specifically one who specializes in women’s health.

      I don’t actively tell people not to drink it, but it’s not on the list of teas/ herbs I actively recommend. There’s mixed information on it’s safety, so I opt for things with less contradictory information.

      I heard on the internet that red raspberry leaf tea can induce contractions in the third month of pregnancy, so i was worried. But an herbalist told me that she recommended nettle and red raspberry leaf tea. She said both were safe when pregnant/ttc and that she drank them her entire pregnancy. I tried red raspberry leaf one month but didn’t get pregnant. I’ve been ttc for about 4 years now….

    Can we take all four ingredients in boiling water as a tea ☕??

    • @LiveFertile
      @LiveFertile  9 місяців тому

      Technically, you could I just don't know why you would. They all have different steep times and recommended temperatures, so I don't know that it would taste very good.

    What times during the cycle do you recommended we take these.

    • @LiveFertile
      @LiveFertile  9 місяців тому +1

      No need to sync them to the phases or anything like an herbalist might recommend for a tailored biphasic formula. They’re culinary teas that are commonly consumed around the world without regard to phases of the cycle. Keep it simple! Best wishes.

      @@LiveFertile is Traditional Medicinals Tea, Organic Ginger, Healthy Digestion, Pleasantly Spicy & Warming, 16 Tea Bags a good brand in your opinion?

    • @LiveFertile
      @LiveFertile  9 місяців тому

      @@BrittneyLewis1 Traditional Medicinals is a brand I like to drink. I can't say if that particular tea is one I'd recommend.
      I'd encourage you to take a look at the ingredients list. Is it just ginger? Are there other herbs in it? If there are other herbs, perhaps ask your pharmacist or provider if those are herbs they would feel comfortable with while TTC or during pregnancy.

    I’ve read rooibos can increase estrogen?

    • @LiveFertile
      @LiveFertile  9 місяців тому +2

      Interesting. I've never read that. Rooibos does contain phytoestrogens, but so do plenty of health-promoting and fertility-supporting foods (like beans, peas, and lentils).
      I've found that many compounds in food are often discussed out of context and villainized. Many beneficial foods and beverages are depicted as "bad" on the internet for this reason.
      I get the impression that this might be the case here.
