    ◢ MY PALETTE
Oil paints are very expensive, I know. For beginning artists, I'd recommend to start with studio quality paints and then replace one color after another with professional paints - or you start with only a few colors: ultramrine blue, white, black, burnt sienna , lemon yellow and cadmium red light.
⇢ Burnt Sienna from Rembrandt: amzn.to/2uO1bcr
    ⇢ Yellow Ochre from Rembrandt:amzn.to/2f1dRaJ
⇢ Ultramarine blue light from Schmincke Norma: amzn.to/2uNH1iF
    ⇢ Magenta from Schmincke Norma
⇢ Cadmium red deep from Rembrandt: amzn.to/2ucI8VQ
⇢ Cadmium red light from Rembrandt: amzn.to/2uR7NFu
⇢ Permanent red violet from Rembrandt: amzn.to/2uOjz5e
    ⇢ Alizarin Crimson from Sennelier*
⇢ Naples yellow light from Schmicke Norma: amzn.to/2vbvT07
⇢ Titanium white from Schmincke Norma
⇢ Royal Blue from Schmincke Norma
⇢ Sèvres blue from Rembrandt: amzn.to/2uQMofE
⇢ Olive Green from Schmincke Norma
⇢ Prussian blue from Rembrandt: amzn.to/2hg1Qii
⇢ Phtalo green cool from Sennelier: amzn.to/2f1H6Kl
⇢ Ivory black from Rembrandt: amzn.to/2hh1RTd
⇢ Lemon Yellow: from Schmincke Norma: amzn.to/2uNZRqf
    ◢ Other Materials
⇢ oil paint medium that works best for my technique: LIQUIN ORIGINAL from Winsor & Newton: amzn.to/2uNV8ot

    Love this video!
I agree that commissions are important. They can also be frustrating because there is other stuff I want to paint! But it is a good tool to have under your belt to be able to work well with clients and make commissions for people. Everytime Ive done a commission I get really nervous but in the end the client is happy ^__^ great video !

Wait wait wait, this is a commissioned painting, and then there's an available (limited) art prints on your shop? That's amazing.
Is it only on this or when you have an amazing commission painting, do you ask from your commissioner to make it available as an art print on your shop? Or is that ok?
Your voice is adorable and this video is so descriptive

I have this problem im not sure if other people do , if i wanna draw/paint for someone or just follow a reference of a real person i would hate doing it or itll turn out bad and not how it is supposed to be , i get generally lazy or un motivated when i draw someone or something for a person other than me ... ALSO THIS PAINTING IS AMAZING ❤

This is actually my favourite painting of yours, because I'm not really into flowers, butterflies and birds :) Maybe you could do more paintings like this one in the future. :)

I know this is a very old video but I can tell you that the one book a year you buy is very important to the book store. I worked for the smallest Waldenbooks in the US. For over a decade we were the next one to be shut down but we were always able to sell just enough that the next store on the list was closed down instead. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BOOKSTORE!

One of Dean Koontz's best books is called From the Corner of His Eye. Highly highly recommend. I would be interested to hear an artists take on it. This is a book that makes the imagination go into overdrive, so it would be interesting to see what inspiration you might glean from it.

I so much agree with you about books from an actual store. For me it's not worth it to buy from something like Amazon because even if it is a few dollars cheaper it still isn't worth a future without book stores!!

Can you please share how you value your art in terms of prices? I'am so curious how you do this, I want to sell my art aswell and find this difficult. If you are willing I would really be happy if you share how you make the prices for your commisions or art in general!

Is it okay to sell prints of a commission you did for someone? (I'm just wondering what your opinion is! I'm sure you asked for permission first)
    Gorgeous as always :)

    • @highstax_xylophones
      @highstax_xylophones 6 років тому

Cindy Trieu Art : the artist does not lose rights to sell prints by selling originals. Selling prints does water down the importance for those who commissioned it though. So maybe asking is the right thing to do.

Hey, just find this video and the painting is amazing! I just wanted to let you know, the pronunciation of Mucha is actually very different. He´s from Czech Republic (where I live) and I have never heard anyone outside the country pronouncing it correctly.
I´d suggest you to try to type his name into the google translate and choose Czech as the language and it should pronounce it correctly :) btw I think it´s awesome that you are trying to learn the correct pronunciation and your also one of my favourite youtube artits, I adore your work :)

What is the stick used for to your right ?

    • @TaniaPomalesArt
      @TaniaPomalesArt 7 років тому

Sqwirl Grl it's a mahl stick. It is used to rest your hand on something to paint more steadily rather than resting it on the painting and possibly ruining it. It's especially helpful when your painting is still wet or made of canvas (you don't want to cave in the painting). I use one all the time that I made from a dowel and a ping pong ball. :)
