Omgosh, I really feel like you're getting into master-work here with these larger pieces on which you can spend more time. It's like something fired up in you with your commissions. They're becoming incredible expressions that leave people with goosebumps. I gasped when I saw this piece! 8D
I love that you went and made your own references for this one because it adds an extra personal touch. Love hearing that little story behind the creation
I love Waterhouse; the Pre-Raphelites are my favourite art movement. I love how vibrant their colours are and how detailed their paintings are. This painting is honestly possibly my favourite of your paintings :)
This is a stunning painting. I love that you are using yourself as reference. Thank you as always 😊 you are such an influence on me. I will always be grateful for your UA-cam videos 💕
That is such a gorgeous painting Lioba! I can't get enough of it. It definitely has a JW Waterhouse feeling to it. Even if you don't feel like it matches up as much as you would like it to, I think it's a perfect mix of your style and his inspiration
2:20 thanks for sharing this information with us. What motivates me when I feel that way is watching videos like this. It's nice to hear that artists we all look up to are human just like us and experience the same feelings like us to. Your videos always make me want to get up and work on my paintings, even on those days when Im not really in the mood
I mostly paint male portraits but I really love your art and if I had the money for a commision you're most certainly the first person I would go to. You're an amazing artist, thank you for sharing your talent.
This is so stunning. Honestly just gorgeous Lioba! But I am not remotely surprised, all of your pieces genuinely stun me. Can I also say I entirely understand the feeling of wanting to spend longer on art? Most of my best work took hours and hours and hours and over the past few months i've been experimenting with more basic drawings because I havent had the time to work on anything decent, but I really miss it and this just inspired me to get back to my roots
Thank you so much! Making YT and social media demands the opposite of artists! The longer you spend on one painting the more you lose momentum and on UA-cam even money! U_u But it's just so rewarding spending more time on one artwork. I try to make a bunch of faster works alongside more elaborate works to still preserve momentum with my posts! ^^ I'm so happy I could inspire you! :D
This is amazing! You're thumbnail made me stop as it reminded me of Waterhouse! And then I read the description and you dedicated to him. 😃What a beautiful dedication! Love it! ❤️❤️
Wow this painting is beautiful, makes me tear up a little to be honest. Also big shoutout to how much you have improved your english these past months, congrats!
This was so beautiful and I am so surprised that I knew almost everything you were saying and could relate to most of what you think..but I am only in 8th grade and I aspire to be this amazing painter just as you..the way you can capture a picture in your mind so vividly and freehandedly is spectacular. You might not think your paintings are a s good as Van Gough or the other artists but I wouldn’t settle for less. Your paintings truly mean something and are truly perfect.
This is such a beautiful painting- thank you so much for sharing your whole process- incredible to see it come to life! Off to check out John William Waterhouse for the first time! x
wow. i am so scared of oil painting, i really have the feeling its impossible for me to learn it. mabye you have some advice how to get started and overcome the fear of it?
Hi!! Lioba I not know that Master feel happy for see him work 😍😆 totally understand why is inspiration for your art work. Personally feel that kind a softens on these piece and is completely different from other of your works, thanks for sharing 😊😆😄😳
Hey dear!! This turned out again so beautifully!!! You have many awesome paintings and drawings but this one is outstanding on its own. And my personal opinion...I like your colors more than Waterhouse's as they are not that muted as his are. Nevertheless it is a beautiful beautiful painting and it was great to watch you creating it.
Haha, I remember when I started using oil paints, my teacher said you usually just need a dollop of each colour so I always took small amounts. I was doing just that with one of my paintings and ran out of paint and instead of mixing some more I took some linseed oil and spread out the paint. *Big* mistake. I painted this painting four months ago and the linseed oil is STILL drying!!

For me, that's by far your best work when talking about oils. It's just astounding

très beau!!! un peu rapide pour moi!!! merci beaucoup!! cordialement!
Lioba, just curious if you ever paint men or other subject matter outside of figures/animals?
Anyone know how she did the gold accents in the sky ?
goldfish1871 she painted the canvas gold b4 starting so she could leave gold flashing thru the finished piece
The song sounds like the song from interstellar
I like you very much! You're sweet!
Wow! This is very beautiful!
Y did u name it Valency?
No actually, my collector came up with the title! :)
Why male portrait is so unliked?
Not unliked, just not her focus, as she's said. :)
Beautiful
