I love this basket weave. I'd been tossing around the idea of using half round and square wire to channel set stones in my head, and what luck! I came across this tutorial on you tube! Thanks so much. Nice to not have to reinvent the wheel! I love your work!
Finally after so long I found the perfect bracelet to make. Only thing is, I 'm making it for a man. My son for Father's Day. Thank you a thousand times dear.
You are very welcome!
This is definitely the clearest and easiest to understand tutorial on this technique! Thank you so much
I have done some wire work in the past but I liked the look of this design. I have to say this is the best, clearest tutorial I have ever watched & I thank you so much.
I've been trying to learn how to channel set for quite some time. Your video was the only one I could understand easily enough to replicate.
Thank you!!
Elegant! Thanks. You are also so good at making sure us students can clearly see everything you are doing.
Oxana! Absolutely stunning design! Very unique and, as always, so well explained. Isn't it amazing how endless the design possibilities are in creating with wire! Really beautiful, thank you!
Just saw this tutorial although it’s not new. Another amazingly beautiful creation. I also would love to see how you make this into a bracelet. Thank you so much for sharing your talent.
I actually never made it into a bracelet, but you could curl under the ends of the wire and then shape it into a cuff bracelet
@@OxanaCrafts thank you.
My goodness, I just love this basket weave! You are so easy to understand, thank you for sharing!!!
Happy dance! You’re teaching this old dog some new tricks. Great tutorials.... thank you
I just Absolutely LOVE this. I think that it's one of my favorite's. I finially bought the Xuron Needle Nose Pliers and I don't know how I've made it this far without them. Thank's so much. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
What a neat weaving pattern. Thanks for sharing all the techniques.
This is beautiful, your tutorials are amazing thank you for sharing. Do you have a video on how to close this weave for a bracelet please?
That's a beautiful weave, Oxana💖👏
Thank you! I have wanted to know how to do this for so long!
I've been trying to figure out how this pattern is made for the longest time so this is extremely helpful than you!!♡♡♡♡
Can you do more of these please step by step. I have been following you for years we share the same first name🥰
Thank you, I do have one more video on this stone setting technique: ua-cam.com/video/hlrsJ3OS05E/v-deo.html
Beautiful work! Inspired and motivated me on my current piece I'm working on. Thank you! ❤️
Thank you for this!! I have been wanting to know how to do this and you explained it and showed it very well.
Such a sweet little bracelet. Love your tutorials. Thank you!
What a wonderful weave this is, especially for beginners! Really interesting & a great use of half-round wires. Thanks!
Such a pretty weave
I Love you demonstrations Oxana gorgeous ♥️ 🖐👍😃
Thank you!
Thank you for this tutorial! Extremely helpful and easy to understand!!
best Teacher!!! awsome!
A Such a georgous weave and setting I love it thank you for sharing ❤️
It's so beautiful ❤. Thank you for sharing
You have come a fayr way! , thank you for your always awsome material!
I just love this weave, would make a great bracelet! Thank you.
Thank you! I’ve been wondering how to accomplish this. Excellent video, as usual.
FABULOUS WORK, TFS! Now to find the right Cab from my stash. LOL.
Thank you. Beautiful weave so well explained. Happy to subscribe!
Oxana, thank you as always, all ways, for these wonderful and concise tutorials. I wondered if you reckon this basket weave could be achieved with square and round, instead of half round? Thank you for your time and energy and expertise. 🙏🕯️💗
Thank you! Hmmm, I am not sure the round would work, I think because of the flat nature of the half round it works for this
Thanks for sharing!!! You explained it nice and simple. ❤️
Thank you, very beautiful and lovely clear instructions
Really pretty.
Thank you so much for this, Oxana! Super video! Namaste 🙏🌺🦋💙
Thank you, that is beautiful. I am definitely going to try it out.
I would love to see how you would incorporate this in a pendant. That is a beautiful little stone!
it'd probably be easier to make it a bracelet
hello! i was wondering if you had a tutorial on how to do this pattern but like with 2 wires? for smaller settings?
Thanks for sharing the blessings!
That is so cool. I think I might try that.😊👍 Thank you! Good Job!
This is what I have been waiting for. Thank you! Sadly, square wires are hardly to find in my country.
Don't let that stop you. We crafters can be creative with using available materials. Try it, you can do it!😀
yes, no square wire here in Australia either, I order it online from US
You can use round wire as well on the bottom wires.
Guao ni me atrevo pero gracias eres genial 😁
So pretty!
Wow thank you for the playlist ❤️🇩🇰
My pleasure 💞
Que lindo tejido gracias ❤
Thanks its wonderful
BEAUTIFUL !!!!!!!
Wow Oxana that is sooo clever! How will you get the crystal to touch the skin at the back of the design. Thank you soooooo much for sharing. 👏👏👏🤗🙏🙅♀️❤🌹
it does not touch the skin because it is on top of wire
This is what I want to know!
thank you! Oxana!
P.S I succeeded double channel setting right now! 😂 yaay!!
Thanks again Oxana!
Muhteşem olmuş ellerine sağlık
Thank You for such an educational video. I would love to make a ring using this pattern, but am unclear how to connect the ends to form 1 continuous band.
Usually people will start ring this way and have a tiny stone be on back of the ring, and then connect the ends and add bigger stone like on standard ring technique
Very beautiful
Wow thank you so much! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Excellent, Thank you, I may be tempted to make a mans version of this with Turquoise instead of Opal'
Liked and Subscribed ;)
beautiful! would it be safe to use glue where the stone is sitting just to be sure it doesn’t fall out of the weaving over time? if so what glue would u recommend?
I myself have not used glue, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
I would love your help Please! You have far more experience and knowledge then I do, Please help me! I love this pattern weave and have an idea to do this for a Bracelet. I have Garnets and Aquamarines (several of each in similar sizes) and I want to channel set them, but not necessarily together. I would like to use a metal wire that is all base metal so I don't need to use ant treatments. Can you suggest a wire for me (and where it would be cheapest to get it) that might look best with those 2 stones? I am fond of wearing silver colored jewelry although silver wire needs treatment so I am not fond of working with it. I do like working with the small amounts of copper I have been able to get near me (but it is a bit pricy to keep getting it from there). I would love your suggestions. Also how could I finish the ends - I am stumped there. Do I make a bangle bracelet by joining the ends somehow (possibly making a continuous loop for the base 4 strands), or intertwining loop curls, or some kind of hook closure? Or do I leave the ends unconnected and just do something decorative on each side. Also I like the width of the what you were working with in this video so depending on the wire what sizes would I need to get in what you suggest to make it a similar width?
You do beautiful work !
Do you have any videos using heavy gauge wire ?
Thank you! I think heaviest I have used is 18 gauge square
Thank you this is beautiful. Can the stone be on that is faceted? And how would you do this with a faceted stone?
i'm not sure to be honest, faceted stones have that little point in back, so maybe the bottom wires have to be separated a bit to make a little gap to accommodate
OxanaCrafts Thank you You are a super Artisan. I love your tutorials
Hey oxana! I love your pieces and tutorials. But I notice you always..well almost always use square and half round which is beautiful!! But I am new to wrapping and want to keep expenses down. I did finally buy some square wire...but still don't have half round. Is it okay to use round instead with the square wire? And if so, what is the differences in doing so please? Thank you!!!
you can try to use round, but it will be a little more tricky. I have been trying to make more videos recently with round wire.
@@OxanaCrafts yes I seen that you have been doing more round for us. I don't need more tricky haha... thank you for responding 👍
Oxana, if I wanted to fit a 3cm x 2cm amber cabochon into this, how would I go about widening the "base" wire weave? Just by adding more square base wires but how would the pattern go? Or is able to be widened? It's for a larger guy and I'd like to make it proportional. I'm diggin the videos by the way.
Maybe to avoid changing the pattern you can try using thicker (bigger gauge) wires.
Or maybe double everything, so twice as many wires
@@OxanaCrafts thank you very much.
I LOVE YOU!!!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!!
Thank you that is so amazing
Delicious !
Could you use larger wires? Like if I only had 20 gauge half round?
This is a beautiful weave. Where did u buy your Welo Opal? It is beautiful, I love opals.
i would love to know this also !!!
I can't remember exactly, I think etsy
Wow!!! Awesome!!!!
Everyone says leave the wire (half round) on the spool but it twists and gets kinked when I wrap. Do you have suggestions? I see you twisting it around but I am all thumbs. So hard to keep the flat side down especially when making coils.
It will kink unless you spin the thick wire you are wrapping it around, and then guide the half round into place, so you are not really doing much with the half round if that makes sense, it just wraps around the thicker wire as the thicker wire spins. I'll try to make video soon explaining this method
Beautiful 😩🥰🙏
Nice, beuty and not to fraigle
I love it
Can you use all round wires for this kind of weave, or is that not advisable?
I don't think it would work with round wires
I have questions does it have to be 19 gauge can i use another size gauge like 20 gauge.
you can use 20 instead of 19
What is half round wire
How do you get your wire's so straight
Here's my tip for getting it straight: ua-cam.com/video/FVSK9B1xyWc/v-deo.html
nice
Can I do this with round wire?
no, the half round is needed to achieve this look
I tried the basket weave and it did not work out as well as I had hoped (perhaps because I was using 22 gauge wire only). Did I do something wrong?
What types of wires did you use? It is not possible to use 22 half-round only, you need thicker base wires that are preferably square and not half round.
@@OxanaCrafts I used 19 gauge round, 22 gauge round and 22 gauge half-round.
ahh I see, I think you will have a much easier time if you try it with only square and half round
@@OxanaCrafts Thank you!
Nails 💅😍
Looks like my Boston bracelet tutorial, your welcome.
I had no idea, this is not meant to be a bracelet, just showing a weaving pattern technique and stone setting. I just looked up your tutorial and my weaving pattern is not the same as yours
Whys your channel gone?
