    Everyone says leave the wire (half round) on the spool but it twists and gets kinked when I wrap. Do you have suggestions? I see you twisting it around but I am all thumbs. So hard to keep the flat side down especially when making coils.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  3 роки тому

      It will kink unless you spin the thick wire you are wrapping it around, and then guide the half round into place, so you are not really doing much with the half round if that makes sense, it just wraps around the thicker wire as the thicker wire spins. I'll try to make video soon explaining this method

    I would love your help Please! You have far more experience and knowledge then I do, Please help me! I love this pattern weave and have an idea to do this for a Bracelet. I have Garnets and Aquamarines (several of each in similar sizes) and I want to channel set them, but not necessarily together. I would like to use a metal wire that is all base metal so I don't need to use ant treatments. Can you suggest a wire for me (and where it would be cheapest to get it) that might look best with those 2 stones? I am fond of wearing silver colored jewelry although silver wire needs treatment so I am not fond of working with it. I do like working with the small amounts of copper I have been able to get near me (but it is a bit pricy to keep getting it from there). I would love your suggestions. Also how could I finish the ends - I am stumped there. Do I make a bangle bracelet by joining the ends somehow (possibly making a continuous loop for the base 4 strands), or intertwining loop curls, or some kind of hook closure? Or do I leave the ends unconnected and just do something decorative on each side. Also I like the width of the what you were working with in this video so depending on the wire what sizes would I need to get in what you suggest to make it a similar width?

    Oxana, if I wanted to fit a 3cm x 2cm amber cabochon into this, how would I go about widening the "base" wire weave? Just by adding more square base wires but how would the pattern go? Or is able to be widened? It's for a larger guy and I'd like to make it proportional. I'm diggin the videos by the way.

    • @OxanaCrafts
      @OxanaCrafts  3 роки тому +1

      Maybe to avoid changing the pattern you can try using thicker (bigger gauge) wires.
