Thanks for making this, it's what YT has always been about for me. Finding videos that teach me things. I was able to make my second ever piece of jewelry using this video. Very cool, thanks.
Thank you Ellie, the way you coil around the middle wire on each side is brilliant as it shows exactly where to bend the wires at the top before binding them together. Excellent tutorial.
This was my first time trying to wire wrap. I think I did a good job! A lot easier than I expected. When it became too quick I just put the videos speed on slow to follow along and paused when needed
Absolutely beautiful Ellie, I am a beginner I haven’t actually made anything yet but I am going to try this. New subscriber too will definitely be checking out all of your other videos. Thank you from the UK xx
Do you have another video on using round wires without weaving? That to me looks so difficult. Sorry. But this is a great tutorial. Thanks. I only have round wire and don’t know if that makes a big difference from flat wires from other tutorials I have seen. For this video instead of weaving can I wrap around?
You could probably wrap all the wires together. I usually prefer to weave because it keeps the wires from bunching. I know of other artists who do just wrap the base wires with thin weaving wire and it looks just fine. ☺️
@@ellieshandcrafted thanks I am so new to this and have not done one yet, but will do one tomorrow. All the videos I have seen use flat wires. Unfortunately I bought round wire because I did not know if it mattered. Thanks for your help.
@@mywifetheartist That is really common for wrapped styles. Although, I didn't have much luck with square and half-round when I first started... Too much twisting. lol. I'm glad I was able to help!

I usually use raw copper wire. I get them from craftwireusa.com or riogrande.com. If you're looking for a quality plated wire, I suggest the Parawire brand. Hope that helps!
Heya, thanks for the tutorial. I have a question for you though. Won’t the ends of the wire where you snapped or cut them off be sharp for the person wearing the piece of jewellery? Is there any way to prevent this?
They can be. With the "pull and twist" method, the "cut" is usually in between the wires, so they don't stick out. It's one of the reasons I prefer it over using flush cutters for areas where it's hard to tuck in the wire. If you do have a sharp end, you can soften it with sand paper. (Assuming you're using a solid, and not plated wire.) Hope that makes sense. :)
If done right, it makes it so you don't have to tuck in any wire. And sometimes it is hard to tuck in weaving wire, so I usually prefer that method. :)
Unfortunately, I don’t have a PDF tutorial for this particular pendant. This would probably be the closest to this design: ellieshandcraftedjewelry.com/products/fall-leaf-pendant-tutorial. But you can change the accents over the bail and do more swoops instead of weaving the leaves. :)
The main issue I'm having is wrapping my wires tight without bending wires 😖 your tutorials are amazing tho! I just started my journey and I'm diving into a few of these. Bought some supplies to practice with to get used to handling copper wire 😄

@@ellieshandcrafted thank you! It wasn't till after I was done and I compared my curves to what you did that made me realize where I was struggling, lol. I kinda got it down using a little clamp. Started making a second one with silver wire this time 😁
I use raw copper wire from riogrande.com or craftwireusa.com here in the USA. I'm not sure where to get descent quality wire from outside of the United States.
You have full control of the playback speed and can navigate the video at will. You aren't going to be able to keep up, it's not a paint along. You have to watch, try and absorb the information, try it on your own and check when something goes wrong or you feel lost. That's just how tutorials work.

Beautiful creations. What do you use to make the "tinted" look on the wire that makes it look antique?
I use a solution called “liver of sulfur” to age the metal and then polish it with pro-polishing pads to shine it up. I hope that helps. ☺️
