I saw this video yesterday and had a 'eureka' moment. Okay, maybe it wasn't 'eureka' but it was a breakthrough. A friend gave me two cardboard sheets showcasing semiprecious gemstones from around the world. They are 3/4 inch cabochons and I felt that they were too small to wrap. But your video has given me a way to build a beautiful pendant (well, 28 actually) and I'm beyond excited. I have earmarked your video and I'm looking forward to using a variation of it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Absolutely adorable pendant - & a wonderfully friendly & reassuring teaching style to coach us through the tricky, unfamiliar bits. Thanks so much, Oxana! 🙋
Wow, I've never seen a design quite like this. It's beautiful and I enjoy smaller pendants myself, also a different way to make a bail with the swirls on either side.
A BEAUTIFUL piece Oxana, I think I have 2-3 gorgeous, blue labradorite (just like yours) that I will do this with. I hope this tutorial will be available for a while. I had reconstructive surgery on my right thumb and will have a cast on for a total of 3 months 😝, so wish me luck. I love to listen to your sweet, kind voice, so please keep the videos coming!!. 🙏🏼🎄💗
Not gonna lie, I had to throw away my first attempt, but now I have made 3 stunning pendants with your tutorial. I wish I could share my versions. Thank you so much!! 🥰

I really like this design. I have made it at the mini pendant level. But the extra design on the bottom is great! I can make things but I always have trouble with the creative part. I can’t see it like other people see it. It has to be a physical picture or image sometimes. I can do certain things and make them look quite lovely however. Thank you for the tutorial.

If you are trying wire wrapping for the very first time I recommend this one: ua-cam.com/video/WVnse04nvio/v-deo.html It is an inexpensive way to try it out with materials only from a crafts store. This is how I myself got started, with beads and craft store wire.

1) Yes I do come up with my original designs, for me it comes easily because I love creating and seeing where it takes me and what kind of design happens. 2) The thin wire I use in this video is 22 gauge half round. 3) I mostly work with cabochons as I find their shape easiest to wrap. But different people set themselves apart by wrapping all kinds of unique things, someone people even make their own stones out of resin or polymer clay. So don't let the stone hold you back, you can make beautiful jewelry with lots of different stones.

@@OxanaCrafts Thank you for letting me know. I am about to order some wire, so will see if they have some 21 ga at Riogrande, here in the U.S.A. I LOVE twisting square wire. It's so pretty. Appreciate your dedication to your amazing, thoughtful and practical tutorials. I have ordered one of your peach moonstone pendants and am excited for it to arrive. XO Ange
that is beautiful Oxana! I love the addition of the beads. I did my first attempt at wire wrapping last week but used wire I had which was round> Ugh! it was so hard to keep straight and close together .... definitely will get square and half-round wire. Have you ever used a little E6000 to hold a cabochon or other components in place? Would it damage the piece or the stone? I noticed you did some wire-wrapped rings years ago. will you be doing some rings or/and earrings in the future? Thank you so much for sharing your skills and talents and being such a good teacher.
Round wire can be tricky in certain designs, but in this particular design I really enjoy having the round wire. It'll be nice for you to have both round and square so you can compare how they feel. I have not tried the glue but I heard others say they use it with great results. I have a few ring tutorials but unfortunately because I seldom make rings I have not come up with any new designs. For earrings, any pendant design can be earrings, just make two of the same pendant and attach earring hooks.
I love using e6000 for small cabochons! Never tried it on labradorite, but it worked wonders for my 4 mm opal rings that were near impossible to secure otherwise, and it’s waterproof (I wash my hands with my rings on all day).

@@barbdavis6838 I would agree with that take on it, I see quite a lot of crystal wrappers make designs very similar to each other and it makes me wonder if they are just copying someone else to make a buck or if they ever think about adding a personal flare to it to make it semi original. I would prefer to figure it out on my own, I've got some pinterest ideas for it but I mostly want to try it on my own and see how it goes. What wires would you suggest (gauges for round, half round and square). I’m just starting out and trying to get my daughter initiated as well! She’ll be 10 next week!!! I’ve completed two so far that I would love to share if I can figure out how!!! LOVE your tutorials and SO incredibly happy that you take the time to show all of what you do!
I don't think there is a way to share photos here, but if you are on instagram you can tag me in the photos there so I will see. The gauges depend on what design you want to make and what size you want the pendant to be. For round I typically use 20 for base wires and 28 or 26 for weaving. For square I most often use 20 gauge and for half round 22 gauge.
I just love your videos. I bought some copper wire and tried to make some things and the wire, although it was 20 gage, was SOOOO soft it was terrible. I think it's aluminum coated in copper. Is Rio Grande the best pace to get the wire? I was so excited to get started, and it was a grand mess.
oh no, sorry your first attempt didn't work out. Rio Grande is good for me because they sell in large quantities, but if you just needed a smaller amount to make some pendants to try out wire wrapping, most craft stores will sell 20 gauge round copper wire. That would probably be the easiest and most inexpensive way to try it if you have a craft store by you.
Thank you so much for these tutorials! I have been practicing with silver german wire but finding it's too hard to work with without complexity. Do you have a recommendation for silver tone wire that is softer to work with? Thank you!
I like to use sterling silver in dead soft, it is a similar feel to copper. It is a bit pricey since it is real silver, but it adds a lot of value to the jewelry and since not that much wire is used per pendant it only works out to be a few extra dollars more than copper per pendant. But I always practice my new ideas in copper since I never know if it work out well
Once again, wonderful design! I am wondering, do you ever have any problems using, "deadsoft" wire, not keeping it's shape or not locking in the stone very well? Thank you again for sharing your videos and gift with us! Blessings 💖🕯️🙏
I am in love with this pendant but I can't seem to make the frame for the cab small enough. As I bend the wire the hole gets larger and the cab falls out after I'm done bending the wires. And Ive burned through a lot of sterling wire trying to make it work. I usually use bronze wire for my first try at a new design but, honestly, this pendant seemed pretty simplistic and I never imagined I'd have this much trouble
oh no, sorry it is not working out for you, maybe make the circular opening even smaller than you think it should be, just to make sure stone can pop out of it
I love this design. It almost looks like your using an 18gauge wire? my cabochon wires look so small compared to yours. What am I doin wrong? i know hard to say
Tried this today in copper wire with a tiger's eye and it turned brilliantly! I can't wait to use this with silver and some Holly Blue Agates I have!
Sounds great! Glad you enjoyed!

@@OxanaCrafts excellent!!!! And per IG, MOST ASSUREDLY!!!!!
I love this design

Beautiful pendant ❣❣❣
Thank you!
Very pretty 😍
Thank you! 😊
you make it looks so easy!
I think this is really cute. your instructions are awesome but i have tried to do this twice now and cant seem to keep my cab from falling out. lol
Sorry to hear that! This particular design can definitely prove to be a bit of a challenge.
Absoluely beautiyful. But,that copper beads where can I find?
I got mine from www.riogrande.com
@@OxanaCrafts I'm Crying.. they don't ship to Italy.. :(
Thank you so much for these tutorials!
But I always practice my new ideas in copper since I never know if it work out well
@@OxanaCrafts ok. Thank you! I guess I may just need to use copper then and then go in to silver. I appreciate your help! God bless you!!🥰
Gorgeous, beautifull
Thank you!
Beautiful 🌸
Thank you!
Once again, wonderful design! I am wondering, do you ever have any problems using, "deadsoft" wire, not keeping it's shape or not locking in the stone very well? Thank you again for sharing your videos and gift with us! Blessings 💖🕯️🙏
I haven't, but it is a type of jewlery that must be handled with care as it is possible to mis-shape it if handled roughly.
Esta muy fabuloso
I am in love with this pendant but I can't seem to make the frame for the cab small enough. As I bend the wire the hole gets larger and the cab falls out after I'm done bending the wires. And Ive burned through a lot of sterling wire trying to make it work. I usually use bronze wire for my first try at a new design but, honestly, this pendant seemed pretty simplistic and I never imagined I'd have this much trouble
I guess I'll pull out eh bronze and give it another try tomorrow.
oh no, sorry it is not working out for you, maybe make the circular opening even smaller than you think it should be, just to make sure stone can pop out of it
Gotta try this, it's so cute!
Thank you!
Love your work.... so clean n need...
Thank you!
I love this design. It almost looks like your using an 18gauge wire? my cabochon wires look so small compared to yours. What am I doin wrong? i know hard to say
the round wires are 20 gauge, maybe they look thicker because I have small hands
@@OxanaCrafts no, the wires look big on the small cab, I think🤔
Awesome design.
Thank you!
