@@manuelsanchez064 oh, I completely agree. It is magnificent! Singer Ofra Haza did a brilliant job and her spanish (Spain) version amazes me. Such beautiful song❤️ Also, I'm an atheist but still the movie and the soundtrack have me crying every single time I watch it😂😂
For the Prince of Egypt... the late Ofra Haza brought Yocheved (Moses mother) to life.. in fact, she was the inspiration behind the animation! Her resonance and vocal ability not only brought the longing and yearning to the part but sucked us into the narrative. And not only did she have to sing in English, but she did the overdubs in about 20 other languages (including her native Hebrew) which just underscored why she was an exceptional singer!!
The Bells of Notre Dame and Deliver Us are so intense and so hard-core that you can tell instantly that you're in for a film that's gritty but still has humour and heart. The Hunchback of Notre Dame is my favourite Disney film ever, and it has a perfect opening
Same! What is very interesting is that both Quasimodo and Moses have the same Singer in German, so it is very easy to connect those to movies for German speaking children.
Have you ever noticed the moment Frollo looks up at the statue of Virgin and Child after the lighting flashes her eyes are now open. Forgive the movie for putting in this statue over 300 years early but it is haunting.
The whole soundtrack of that movie just defies description. It's absolutely, breath-takingly good. I personally love the reprise at the end, which somehow delivers the same cadence at an even grander scale. And on top of that, we get these incredible lyrics: "Whatever their pitch, you can feel them enrich you, the rich and the ritual knells of the bells of Notre Dame." CHILLS. EVERY TIME.
Yep no matter how many times I watch that film. The opening and ending always gives me goosebumps. It’s such an underrated film too. Hell fire gives me goosebumps also. Thats an amazing song
I legit nearly cried.... Two of those movies were my childhood, Quest for Camelot and Anastasia. I did watch The Swan Princess when I was older, and I really liked it. I loved them as a kid. To be honest, I'll rewatch them from time to time. Still have my original discs from my childhood. Though I played Spirit Stallion of the Cimaron so much that I ruined the disc and now refuses to play. But I got a new disc to replace it....
@@claytonmason174 I can't figure out why would that be a problem. I am not at all religious by any mean, still Prince of Egypt is my all-time favorite animated movie.
I think the top 3 are equally amazing, and those three could have been in any order and I would still be happy with it. They're definitely among the ones I thought of when I clicked on the video (even without the picture of Frollo as the thumbnail).
I was about to argue that Circle of Life should have been number 1, but then it was “Deliver Us”. Never mind. You right. You right. Best opening song ever. I still have that song on my regular playlist.
"Circle Of Life" is absolutely iconic. It's beautiful, perfectly paced, and expertly lays out one of the film's core themes. It's so good, that the entire teaser trailer for _The Lion King_ was just this sequence. To this day, I cannot sing it without tearing up. It's simply perfect.
Truly it's breathtaking..And one is moved when listening to it, and with attention to the message of life that it gives us more the beautiful and majestic sound of music
Oh yeah...if I was a prey animal I absolutely would show up for the birth of more predators, and even bow down before them. This is the most stupid thing I have seen in animation -- and if I was a giraffe or zebra, I would be beyond insulted. Also....lions are a matriarchal society. So if any birth should be celebrated, it would be Nala's. Maybe if you are going to make an animal movie...I dunno...research stuff about the animals?!
All of these are insanely good and it’s hard to choose one but man Deliver Us…I haven’t watched Prince of Egypt in years but it was one of my go to movies as a kid and the opening always gave me chills…It still does to this day…It’s so complex. Full of so many emotions, stunning animation, beautiful emotional lyrics…Gah! It’s insanely good
I was puzzling over why lion king wasn’t number one… until I saw prince of Egypt was first and was like “oh.. that makes sense now” because all the music in Prince of Egypt just hits. I’m not religious, I do not believe in any god, but I still love this movie. It’s beautifully animated, and the music is, parson the pun, god tier, both in story telling and portrayal of emotions.
@@silverwolfgamezpretty much this. I saw Lion King second and went "what's first?!" And the second I saw Prince of Egypt I went "oh yeah that checks out."
The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, and The Prince of Egypt are the holy trinity of openings that have had me shook since I was a child. (honorable mention to Road to El Dorado)
0:36 #20 Lilo & Stitch (He Mele No Lilo) 1:48 #19 The Princess and the Frog (Down In New Orleans) 3:15 #18 The Emperor's New Groove (Perfect World) 4:32 #17 Vivo (One of a Kind) 5:49 #16 Quest for Camelot (United We Stand) 7:05 #15 Corpse Bride (According to Plan) 8:18 #14 Tarzan (Two Worlds) 9:45 #13 Oliver & Company (Once Upon A Time In New York City) 11:01 #12 Aladdin (Arabian Nights) 12:16 #11 The Swan Princess (This Is My Idea) 13:23 #10 Rio (Real In Rio) 14:39 #9 The Road to El Dorado (El Dorado) 15:50 #8 The Nightmare Before Christmas (This Is Halloween) 16:58 #7 Anastasia (A Rumor In St. Petersburg) 18:12 #6 Beauty and the Beast (Belle) 19:29 #5 Hercules (The Gospel Truth) 20:41 #4 Shrek (All Star) 21:50 #3 The Hunchback of Notre Dame (The Bells of Notre Dame) 23:15 #2 The Lion King (Circle of Life) 24:47 #1 The Prince of Egypt (Deliver Us)
You know, I had that as my alarm tone for a while, but instead of filling me with joy, it made me start hating the song, and I was NOT about to let that happen! So yeah, I don't recommend using it for your alarm, but hey, maybe it works for others.
When I was in the Marines, deployed aboard a Navy ship, there was one morning where the guy on duty played Circle of Life over the ship's PA system in the morning to wake everyone up instead of the regular reveille nonsense. It was kinda fun.
“Deliver Us” gives me chills the whole way through. It is so powerful, and really illustrates the lack of hope/beginning of hope at the beginning of the movie. If it didn’t make the #1 spot, I would have been floored.
Hunchback of Notre Dame is the greatest overall soundtrack to any Disney movie ever. This can't be argued. No other Disney movie is able to give you goosebumps from every musical number.
Absolutely. Just from the very opening, where instead of the usual Disney music over the castle logo, you hear the faint ringing of the bells slowly leading into the swelling chorus giving us a brief glimpse of the chorus of "Hellfire"... MMPH! So good!
and it's sooooo underrated!!!! i was just talking about this at work today with some customers (i work at a game/hobby store where Lorcana is all the rage at the moment) and was saying how i'm happy about great mouse detective getting represented but id LOVE to see hunchback of notre dame... though i sort of doubt it... it's like disney didn't feel it was "successful" enough going the route of being darker thematically. it's a shame because it is an absolute masterpiece. it was wild though, because the people i was talking to were total disney adults and one admitted he JUST saw it for the first time a couple months ago!!!! i was just like wtf, lol.
I was looking for this comment! It should've made the list, but Brother Bear is always that underrated movie that's being overlooked.. Good thing some of us do not forget however!
125: The Hunchback of Notre Dame might be dark but it has one heck of an opening with great narration and introducing a villain, even the great chorus. Awesome work, Alan Menken
YES! I have always loved 'Deliver Us' as one of the most greatest opening scene if all time from "The Prince Of Egypt" even it's way better then 'Circle Of Life' from "The Lion King".
I'm so glad the hidden gems of Anastasia, Quest for Camelot, and Swan Princess, and Hunchback of Notre Dame are included in this list. These movies are criminally underrated! My inner 90s child self is happy. =D
I love Oliver & Company, so I'm happy to see it on this list! I always keep in mind the lyrics "keep your dream alive, dreaming is still how the strong survive". It helps me keep going, even during times when I feel like I wanna give up all hope. I'm also glad to see Lion King and Prince of Egypt make the top 2! Both are masterpieces!
I have this Classic as an 1999 ORIGINAL, Special Edition DVD in EXCELLENT, NEAR MINT condition, complete with its ORIGINAL white case and insert! My goal is to get EVERY SINGLE edition of EVERY SINGLE Classic Disney movie! This includes the 100 Anniversary editions too! Regarding this movie , I’m NOT sure if I watched it yet!
I know it's not the opening song, so it wouldn't be in the list, but Why Should I Worry? from Oliver & Company is one of my favorite songs from all animated movies. It has so much character and Billy Joel absolutely killed it on the vocals.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame has such a beauty soundtrack. One of my fave Disney movies for real. And underrated imo. And also, thanks for adding ‘According to plan’, the songs from ‘Corpse Bride’ are amazing!
Here I am, almost crying at the fact that ‘Deliver Us’ is listed at #1. I had a feeling it would be. That is possibly one of my all time favorite movie songs ever. The attention to detail and respect and emotion to the Hebrew heritage given in that song is beautiful!!!!!!!!!! My family background is Messianic and it means a lot to me to see a Jewish composer (Hans Zimmer) and Ofra Haza in the song.
Yes.. Ofra Haza not only embodied the longing in the song (her family fled Yemen in the 50s to Israel) but she was the inspiration for Yocheved (Moses' mother). Now the movie was just a re-working of the "Ten Commandments', but it was stunning when it came out. Of course in the book it was like Yocheved and Miriam had it planned that Moses would be rescued and Moses always knew he was a Hebrew as his real mom ended up being his nursemaid by order of Pharaoh's daughter.. thanks to Miriam.
Before watching this video, I thought that #1 could be "The Bells of Notre Dame", "Circle of Life", or "Deliver Us". Ranking them as the top 3 choices is perfect!
04:10 ok, so I perfectly agree that Kuzko's "a perfect world" belongs in that lists. But when you described the song, you forgot to mention it is the perfect vilain introduction song (a tradition in Disney classical vilains, like Ursula, Frolo or Scar). You could argue Kuzko is a twist vilain for the first 5 minutes of the movie and the first two thirds of the song. Because, yes, Kuzko is the vilain of the story, Yzma is only a secondary antagonist (sorry to say that, cause she is great and I love her, but that's the truth). The emperor's new groove is first and foremost a vilain redemption story, in addition to an hilarious comedy!
Personally, I wouldn’t call Kuzco a villain, more along the lines of a spoiled, entitled, insensitive, selfish, and childish anti-hero, who doesn’t know right from wrong. Also, the fact that Yzma “practically raised him” might explain his jerkish behavior. In addition, whatever happened to his parents?
@@knightwolf9863 Ho, he's got plenty of mitigating circumstances: no parents (probably dead as per Disney rule), raised by a bad person (Yzma), spoiled to the core so that his perception of what is important or not is completely distorted, he's very young (18? less?), etc. Still, a crime is a crime: it's played for laugh, to not be perceived as acutely (by children especially, after all this is also for kids), but he was ready to kill an old man (he's unarmed of course, by the laws of comedy, but still that's no thanks to Kuzko) and raze a whole village to the ground for his own pleasure (or displeasure). He's not just a jerk: he's a dictator with absolute power that would destroy anything and anyone in his path, plain and simple. But he's of course a sympathetic villain. You can't help but feel for him. You root for him to change and succeed. And he is helped by the absolute perfect human being that is Patcha, without which he would never have started this journey (both the literal and figurative one: the character growth). That's why the movie is so ingenious: the journey from vilain to good guy feels real. it's not straightforward, there are at least two stumbles that make it more believable, as well as small steps forward and deep realisations about himself, and at the end, he has a true test to prove whether or not the change is genuine. He is ready to sacrifice everything to save his friend, proving he has changed.
You have no idea how much I love Quest for Camelot. I’ve watched it a lot of times when I was a kid. The whole thing is nostalgia and the soundtrack is phenomenal with the voices of Celine Dion and Eric Idle
I was like “the circle of life is number two?… What could number one possibly be?” … and then after thinking for a minute, I realized that the Prince of Egypt hadn’t even been on the list yet and I thought “Oh… Right. What was I thinking???” ‘Deliver us’ and ‘bells of Notre Dame’ will forever give me chills. I plan on playing the opening measures of ‘bells of Notre Dame’ when I watch the unveiling of the cathedrals renovation. Those notes and vocals, just epitomize the grandeur of that place for me.
Yes.. Ofra Haza's contribution made that song amazing.. especially her ending "Deliver us...." She was the inspiration behind how Yocheved (Moses' mother) was drawn/animated.
El Dorado and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are such underrated films. I love all the songs. The opening and ending song to Notre Damn give me massive goosebumps
@@dreamguardian8320 I just don’t understand why DreamWorks Animation would not return the Traditional animation like they did in the past. I wouldn’t mind.😐✍️
I legit am tired of seeing 3D animation movies....they do not resonate with me as 2D does..... I feel like there was more creativity and emotion with 2D than with 3D.....It would be a dream come true to have that back. All we get is live action remakes that are not nearly as good as the original. I wish there was some new stories instead of these remakes of already loved movies. To me it feels like they just doing it as a money grab. I honestly won't go see any of the live remakes after the Lion King as that just hurt....they ruined Scar and Be Prepared, they should have brought Jeremy Irons back as his voice was PERFECT for Scar. Of course that is just my opinion.
@@DGraham9721 some of them aren’t that bad I actually liked Tim Burton`s Dumbo and Christopher Robin wasn`t too bad, but yes i agree wholeheartedly about 2D. It had so much power and emotion that you just can’t replicate in computer animation. Monsters Inc and Super Mario were good, and I`m still waiting for Illumination to do a 3D animated Flinstones reboot for theatres, but give me 2D any day.
@@carminecdinoproductions I said I CAN’T blame them for putting Circle of Life in the #2 spot. I may mot have ever seen Prince of Egypt yet, but after this video explained why that song is #1, I guess it makes sense that way.
@@carminecdinoproductions No.. Ofra Haza's ending note on "Deliver us" is so spine tingling that that alone is why it was number 1.. the entire movie itself.. well, eh..
Among my favs are The Circle of Life, which is majestic, as we know the wonders of the fauna and nature of Africa. Also it like me: Real in Rio (it's beautiful the enchant of the nature of Brazil), Down in New Orleans (it's great as a daily rutine in the town), A Rumor in St. Petersburg, The Swan Princess, The Beauty and the Beast.. You could to include to Frozen, Toy Story 3, "Fearlees hero" from Puss in Boots 2 and "The Family Madrigal" from Encanto.. Althought the list would to be larger jaja..
And here i was sitting, thinking how can "Bells of Notre Dame" and "Circle of Life" get 3rd and 2nd places, and what song could POSSIBLY surpass these masterpieces. And then "Deliver Us" came and punched me straight into the childhood memory feelings
Yes. "Deliver us", without a doubt. The movie may be about Moses, but the song is absolutely divine. May you and your beautiful voice, Ofra Ezra, rest in peace near The Almighty and in our hearts.
181: I love it that you put a smile on my face for including The Swan Princess. This Is My Idea has been playing in my head since I first watched it. It’s a fun musical number
When you had Lion King as for #2 I was like "there is nothing that can beat that. why is it #2" But then we got #1 and I was like "ok yea, that would do it."
191: As DreamWorks 2nd movie, The Prince of Egypt is a masterpiece. A reason, in my opinion, that shouldn’t be called underrated. Deliver Us is a great opening number in history
182: Fun Fact; Richard Rich, the director of The Swan Princess also directed The Black Cauldron and The Fox and The Hound. Good reasons why Odette might be considered a Disney princess. Even though she isn’t, we could see her join the ranks
Musical countdowns are my favorite content your channel post. Let’s see a top 10 sidekicks, or top 10 pets, or both. :-) thanks again! Keep up the great work.
When you mention the Lion King opening, the speaker says at 23:36 "The African-inspired vocals are so iconic..." I would like to just emphasize this musical moment. The opening to the Circle of Life isn't African-inspired vocals. It IS African vocals. The man singing that, Lebo M, came to the U.S. from South Africa, basically escaping Apartheid from what I remember. And somehow he got in touch with Hans Zimmer, and the rest is basically history. He's been singing for the musical, too. He has a daughter here now, who also sings. I had the privilege of meeting him a few years ago just briefly, and he was a wonderful, kind, humble man. Anyway, just wanted to add that, thanks for the video!
"Once Upon a Time in New York City" is SOOO underrated! Thank you for bringing it up, i feel like most of us forgot that song. But it plays in my head often, usually whenever i hear a key word from it, even though it's been YEARS since i saw the movie! Definitely stuck with me just like you said
You forgot theses movie intros Frozen- the frozen heart The little mermaid- Fathoms Below Robin Hood- Whistle Stop Pocahontas -The Virginia Company Muppet Treasure Island- Shiver My Timbers
I loved Tarzan that movie made me cry. Aladdin is a really great movie. Beauty and the beast is a wonderful movie. The Lion King is my all time favorite movie.
Honorable Mention; The Lorax. When Illumination did a new take on the Dr. Seuss classic, they made it turn into a musical. The opening may not be epic but it has great singers. Just look at the guy that delivers air
I always loved how the fact that these songs did go so hard is one of the many things that make them so iconic! But since most of the songs on this list were done by Disney of course they went as hard as they did because we all know what DIsney is like when it comes to musical numbers.
And that's saying something, considering there real BANGERS in the rest of the movie: hellfire obviously (more well-known, for good reasons), but also the prayer of Esmeralda (forgot the name). Still, I completely agree!
@@darkb4light06 Yes, thank you! All these songs rock, you're right, the soundtrack of Notre Dame still holds up as one of the best in the whole Disney classic films (which is saying something, they were and still are known for great musical numbers!)
The Belles of Notee Dame and Deliver Us are the best openings animating can give. Just pure energy and emotion. But also, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron has a beautiful opening scene as well. Maybe not a song, but that score and animation is also unmatched.
What I love about the Opening for Quest for Camelot is that it shows Garret who later in the movie becomes a key character. Two Worlds from Tarzan is another opening song I love. Even though I’m in my 30s I still love the Swan Princess movies. I love all the songs in The Road To El Dorado. Rumor in St. Petersburg is another opening animated movie song I love.
Quest for Camelot has so many small hints that people miss easily, such as Garrett appearing at the opening. That one is so easy to miss. And the healing flowers. People believe it came out randomly. But he actually explained about them in one brief scene. Kayley was clearly paying attention when he said it, since it's that particular flower she chose when healing him 😊
@@crimsonvoid1595 Many people complained about certain things in the movie, failing to see many beloved Disney films have the exact same thing. Like the dragons. Yeah, they were annoying sometimes, but the annoying sidekick is something Disney has done tons of times too, even movies as serious as The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Then another complain is how the lead characters fell in love too quickly. I mean, hello! At least you see the relationship progress, even if it's in the span of a day or two. Disney has done the 'love at first sight' trope several times and I rarely see people complain about them. Look at Cinderella. One single dance and marriage was already on the table. How about The Little Mermaid? That movie is so beloved, and the prince was already talking about marrying a girl he saw for just a few seconds, just because he heard her sing. True, she saved his life, but he didn't know her at all at the time regardless. Some people even question where the magic in the movie comes from. It's magic! There's no particular explanation! It just exist! How come you're not questioning the same in movies like Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin? I swear, some of the complains are stupid! Quest for Camelot might have its flaws, but it's definitely not the bad movie some people make it out to be.
@@lulystalgianature2968 Except back when Quest For Camelot was made Disney didn’t own Fox so that technically is inaccurate to say it was a Disney movie back then. But yes I agree it isn’t a bad movie.
@@crimsonvoid1595 What I meant to say is people were too eager to criticize the movie, and I believe it was in part because it wasn't a Disney movie. If it had been an official Disney movie from the get go, just maybe, people wouldn't have been so critical about it. It's as if Disney is the only one allowed to have animated movies like that.
omg thank you for including Quest for Camelot! I LOVED that movie as a kid but I haven't seen it since I moved out and had completely forgotten it until now :o
I approve of most of this list, especially the choice of "Deliver Us" as #1. But I wish room had been found for some older opening songs for animated movies, like "When You Wish Upon a Star" (Pinocchio) or "Look Out for Mr. Stork" (Dumbo) or "A Dream Is a Wish" (Cinderella). Granted, the classic Disney films didn't have huge opening production numbers like we see in the animated movies of the 90s and beyond, but their opening songs could still do an expert job of setting the tone for what's to come.
I love this channel because it brings so much attention to underrated movies like these. Prince of Egypt deserves its #1 spot no other opening hits me that hard!
When I saw that Circle of Life was #2, I was like "What beat that song?" Then I saw that it was Deliver Us from The Prince of Egypt and honestly you cannot argue with that. Especially when you find out that that holy hot damn of a soundtrack was written by Hans Zimmer (who worked on The Lion King) and Stephen Schwartz (who wrote the lyrics for The Hunchback of Notre Dame).
OMG I was definitely not expecting “once upon a time in New York City” on this list to me it’s the beginning of how Oliver became the inspiration for my own character
kind of impressed to see the inclusion of movies like quest for camelot and swan princess, which are notably way less popular than many of the others in this video. good stuff,
The opening to Oliver and company used to make me absolutely sob when I was little! I just wanted to rescue him and love him like Jenny does. I’d hug my cats and just cry into their fur
I literally did that just now. Laying in bed with my kitty and just that short clip had me bawling and telling him how much I love him and his sisters. My heart can't take that opening song. 😭
I expected Circle of Life or something to be #1, but then at about #6, Deliver Us occurred to me and I wished with all my heart it was #1. I was pleased
The fact that deliver us made it to number 1 is awesome! I was truly hoping they wouldn’t pick an opening from a more popular movie, and thankfully they didn’t. The opening has Egyptians braking in to Hebrew homes to kill their babies! Circle of life has nothing on that!
23:18 I saw Hans Zimmer in concert in 2017 and he played Circle of Life during the show. After the previous song had ended, the stage went dark and there was a pause in the performance, then the screen behind the orchestra lit up with the sun rising and that first note hit and the whole auditorium went CRAZY, it was amazing
I’m very happy you added in the beginning of Vivo! That movie, in my opinion, was a great start to Sony Animation’s musical add on, yet I feel like no one talks about it and that’s kind of sad. But this entry at least shows that maybe some people besides me does know this movie for the fun musical it is
Those are all pretty epic opening numbers in animated movies, I can think of a few more that should’ve been in the honorable mentions: .Fathoms Below-The Little Mermaid (1989) .Now and Forever-The Pebble and the Penguin (1995) .Follow Your Heart-Thumbelina (1994) .We Got This Together-My Little Pony:The Movie (2017) .You Got a Friend in Me-Toy Story (1995)
I agree! The honorable mentions should’ve been on the list and I’ve got an honorable mention to celebrate the 7th anniversary of The Loud House, which is the opening song “Life is Better Loud” from “The Loud House Movie”!
@@strawberrysoulforever8336 true, but the version he sings is not in full, so it wouldn’t in theory be considered an opening number. He’s humming for most of the opening sequences and only starts singing a few lines and then it’s over.

lol, when I saw circle of life at number 2, I said to myself Prince of Egypt better be number one or I'm boycotting Ms Mojo lol 🤣
I'm with you.. I was like... "Circle of Life... number 2? Wtf?" Then I saw Deliver Us and I was basically thinking the same thing as you.
Lmfaoooo sameeee I was like wtf ohhhh yea no I get it
in my book I could consider those 2 a tie for number 1.
Appreciate your highlighting Quest for Camelot, Road to El Dorado and the Swan Princess. Disney's not the only one who can do animated movies.
I agree those movies are so underrated
"Circle Of Life" is absolutely iconic. It's beautiful, perfectly paced, and expertly lays out one of the film's core themes. It's so good, that the entire teaser trailer for _The Lion King_ was just this sequence. To this day, I cannot sing it without tearing up. It's simply perfect.
Truly it's breathtaking..And one is moved when listening to it, and with attention to the message of life that it gives us more the beautiful and majestic sound of music
I agree!
it's emotional
Oh yeah...if I was a prey animal I absolutely would show up for the birth of more predators, and even bow down before them. This is the most stupid thing I have seen in animation -- and if I was a giraffe or zebra, I would be beyond insulted. Also....lions are a matriarchal society. So if any birth should be celebrated, it would be Nala's. Maybe if you are going to make an animal movie...I dunno...research stuff about the animals?!
When I saw the show live…. That opening song sung live and the animals coming through the crowd made be bawl like an absolute baby 😢😅
It’s insanely good
As a Lion King fan, I can accept Circle of Life being ranked below Deliver Us. Both are lyrical masterpieces!
Both scored by Hans Zimmer 😊
Same here
I was puzzling over why lion king wasn’t number one… until I saw prince of Egypt was first and was like “oh.. that makes sense now” because all the music in Prince of Egypt just hits.

Circle of Life is so great that could be the alarm clock in every corner of the world
Yes, it really should!
oh yeah, well also it stars with the sunrise jajaja
You know, I had that as my alarm tone for a while, but instead of filling me with joy, it made me start hating the song, and I was NOT about to let that happen! So yeah, I don't recommend using it for your alarm, but hey, maybe it works for others.
I've done this... it's too startling to wake up to haha
Exactly.
Thank you I’ve been trying to tell this to people for years it’s so good
I'm a bit sad that "Great Spirits" from Brother Bear didn't make the list, but I must say I do agree with the list
Oh, I love Brother Bear. At that time, I didn’t know who Tina Turner is but I love the opening
WatchMojo has NEVER put that movie in the light it deserves!
@@olvialee7221 Same.
That would be a better #4 than what was cheatedly there.
Can't hear the final notes of Notre Dame without goosebumps.
Finally some Swan Princess recognition!
Yeah, I'm glad too :D.. Is from my childhood's favourites movies
"this is not my-" "this isn't my idea of fun!"
i dare to sya it's the best song of the movie
I didn't like the movie that much even though I did see it a lot during my childhood, but even I admit that was a great opening.
124: They definitely went hard for Deliver Us in The Prince of Egypt, DreamWorks 2nd movie. It’s epic, emotional and outstanding
That was their 2nd movie?
OMG
@@sleepyboi5731 Yes. Antz and The Prince of Egypt came out in the same year in 1998. First two movies of DreamWorks
It’s interesting that Hans Zimmer composed the music for both The Lion King and The Prince of Egypt
I rooted for "Deliver Us" from the beginning of the video....... and you DELIVERED 🙌
Great list...
189: There’s few Disney movies that are underrated but nothing beats The Hunchback of Notre Dame. It’s chilling and unforgettable
YES! I have always loved 'Deliver Us' as one of the most greatest opening scene if all time from "The Prince Of Egypt" even it's way better then 'Circle Of Life' from "The Lion King".
I think the top 3 picks are equally amazing. Those could have been presented in any order, and I would still agree.
IT IS NOT
I'm so glad the hidden gems of Anastasia, Quest for Camelot, and Swan Princess, and Hunchback of Notre Dame are included in this list.
Both are masterpieces!
that opening scene always gets me since nobody wanted him
I have this Classic as an 1999 ORIGINAL, Special Edition DVD in EXCELLENT, NEAR MINT condition, complete with its ORIGINAL white case and insert!
Hans Zimmer is That Dude, Lion King and Prince of Egypt Definitely should be top 2, PERIOD!
totally
@@leovk5779 At Kuzco's funeral, Yzma says it was on the eve of his eighteenth birthday, so yeah, he's only just eighteen.
Deliver Us is definitely by far the best opening song in any animated movie.
Got. That. Right
@@olvialee7221 Nobody could have ended a song like Ofra Haza could!!! Even her rendition of Im Nin Alu is still haunting..
Those notes and vocals, just epitomize the grandeur of that place for me.
every time I hear "Deliver us," I am crying my eyes out...I feel for Moses' mother
I think we can all agree that Deliver Us is a pretty powerful opening song, thus being in the #1 spot:
Yes.. Ofra Haza's contribution made that song amazing.. especially her ending "Deliver us...." She was the inspiration behind how Yocheved (Moses' mother) was drawn/animated.
I don’t think it’s number one.
I think the fact that Clopin’s Va having an amazing singing voice just adds onto why ‘The Bells of Notre Dame’ is amazing.
El Dorado and The Hunchback of Notre Dame are such underrated films. I love all the songs. The opening and ending song to Notre Damn give me massive goosebumps
The Prince of Egypt had a great opening song, I just wish we had more films like this😮
Especially, in 2D animation.
@@dreamguardian8320 I just don’t understand why DreamWorks Animation would not return the Traditional animation like they did in the past. I wouldn’t mind.😐✍️
@@bennymora3086 Me neither, I also wouldn't mind seeing Don Bluth's animation come back. If it was really possible, that is.
I’m actually surprised that “Circle of Life” was #2 instead of #1, but because of that Prince of Egypt song, I guess I can’t blame them.

Clopin's HIIIIIGH note.... and the single bass drum hit at the end of the Lion King .... are simply spectacular
I was wondering what would be number 1. Deliver Us still makes me sob. The grief in which she sings.
"Fearless Hero" from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish should've been an honorable mention on this list!
Oh Yeah, this yes should have to be here.. It's awesome how we see Puss in his best moment at party and with a Great song of Hero.. Oh yeah yeah
I was also expecting that song. It is an absolute banger. Unfortunately they didn't include it in the list
I was about to put that lol
“Deliver us” It’s just one of the few amazing songs in this amazing animated film I’m sure I gave the best soundtrack award to a really good film
190: The opening of The Lion King is memorable and amazing with its stunning animation. In the sequel, it’s enchanting. I love it
When you had Lion King as for #2 I was like "there is nothing that can beat that. why is it #2" But then we got #1 and I was like "ok yea, that would do it."
What about "The Family Madrigal" from Encanto? Now that's a way to introduce us to all the main characters.

That opening song from The Prince of Egypt STILL makes me cry.
Old Disney makes good music😊
oh yeah Disney truly hit the mark creating these amazing and magnificent opening songs
Bells of Notre Dame still holds up well for being a really epic opening

The Belles of Notee Dame and Deliver Us are the best openings animating can give. Just pure energy and emotion. But also, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron has a beautiful opening scene as well. Maybe not a song, but that score and animation is also unmatched.

Don't get me wrong, Circle of Life is ❤
But the opening to Oliver and Company has ALWAYS had a HUGE spot in my heart. 💔
I never thought I would ever see anyone put #16 on anything. I love this movie!
The fact they got the legendary Dr. John to do "Down in New Orleans" makes the song even more amazing!
Kayley was clearly paying attention when he said it, since it's that particular flower she chose when healing him 😊
@@lulystalgianature2968 Yep. I Love how they did that. When I was a kid I completely missed it.
We got to #2, Lion King, and I was like “is there really any opening better?”
And then “Deliver Us” came crashing to reality and I nearly screamed. 😆
I knew that "This is Halloween" was gonna be on this list 🧡🖤

The fact that deliver us made it to number 1 is awesome! I was truly hoping they wouldn’t pick an opening from a more popular movie, and thankfully they didn’t. The opening has Egyptians braking in to Hebrew homes to kill their babies! Circle of life has nothing on that!

.Now and Forever-The Pebble and the Penguin (1995)
.Follow Your Heart-Thumbelina (1994)
.We Got This Together-My Little Pony:The Movie (2017)
.You Got a Friend in Me-Toy Story (1995)
I feel like Thumbelina has several stronger songs in its catalogue.

The Circle of Life is still one the greatest and most emotional opening song's of all time!
