I've spent way too many hours on this game but your video taught me some new ways of doing things. Particularly the power shutoff. Even though this was for beginners/early game, you covered some areas I've not seen elsewhere. Good job man!
Thank you! I've been wondering how to automatically shut off the coal generator because I didn't have a lot of coal to begin with. Very helpful and straight to the point.
The power shutoff is quite neat and I think I'll redo my main power spine like that tonight. One thing to note with the gas shutoff is if the unfiltered output gets backed up you'll get all sorts of gasses going into your filtered output. Same for the other way round, your filtered gasses can end up flowing into your unfiltered output and being wasted. Just have to make sure they all flow correctly, Apologies if you mentioned this.
Thank you for putting some automation info into one video! I don't want to watch the playthroughs if I have not progressed through my own game and try to lear by trial and error but ONI has so much I am clueless about in it like the automation and rocketry.
Amazing video, Captain Mae! Does this mean we do not need separate gas pump for SPOM? just using your gas filter automation is enough, cause it will separate the 2 gases right?
I'm trying to apply your first tip. But its not working well. I tried putting the oxygen diffuser down the base because O2 is supposed to go up, but the Atmo sensor disable it because down the base is full of O2 and up is barely breathable. Actually the Atmo sensor in this case is useless because the diffuser is turning off at 1700 and still no O2 going up. My base is very open, with open blocks every 2 to 3 regular blocks. So I tried to put up. And the same happens. O2 is up and doesn't go down. So I guess I need to put oxygen difuser around the entire base and then the sensor will make sense. Or maybe its because my base was lacking O2 while I was trying to setup this system and the O2 takes very long time to diverse?
You can probably put a couple near the middle of your base to sustain you. That is usually enough during the early game. The atmos sensor is to conserve power. If it's turning off to early for you, then you can forgo using it because the Algae Diffuser will automatically turn itself off once it reaches max pressure.
about 13:22... why this sheet is not working? i tried to filter all gasses from base this method and it is completely messing everything, oxygen in chlorine tank, chlorine to last output vent, just not working at all. Outputs are clogged bc overpressure and i thint it is the reason so that means it can be used in only constant not blocked flow? or it is something else?
Yes, when your vents get blocked from over pressure, it will back your pipes up. You will need somewhere for the extra gases to go. Use a bridge to direct overflow to another location for example outer space.

No problem. Happy you found this content useful.
In this last guide, the power management, how do I add Jumbo batteries to it? Along side with the smart batteries?
Yes, you would add another layer between the power consumers and the smart batteries.

Thanks for the tip!
Exactly what i needed. Subscribed!!
Awesome, thank you!

My pleasure! I have several tutorials I have made to help beginners that I'm sure you would find helpful.

Well, this filter will separate the gases for you. Watch this video on how to create a SPOM:

11:40 actually very useful
Good to hear

thank you for the not gate switch for the gas valve. been trying to figure out how to use excess gases for other things and none of the valves worked.
My pleasure! Glad it helped you.
Very informative, thanks!
You're welcome and Thank you!
amazing thankyou
My pleasure!
Thanks so much my interspace cartel thanks you
lol no problem
You saved me!
Yay!
The first one is kinda meh as it's not preferable to produce less oxygen tbh. Consumption is the same. The others are really neat ty
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback
ever since automation was introduced the game got way more complex..
Ya but automation is always a good thing.
