Did this video help you out? Let me know! A few comments on things I missed: When discussing the loop in the steam turbine, there is an extra bridge in there on purpose - one bridge is not necessary, the extra bridge was to demonstrate issues related to backflow. If you need ideas on how to loop around an aqua tuner, here's a few ideas designed by the fantastic Marieen: imgur.com/CBQxEo9 - we'll cover some of this in a future video. At around 23:30 I mentioned preventing state changes by using a valve to prevent state changes: It's easier to think of it in percentages, you'll need 10% of the valve throughput, 1000g for liquids or 100g for gas valves
Thank you for this video! I've been playing for a while, kept getting hung up on getting very far. I have been confused by bridges and how multiple in/outs work. Two hours after watching this I have a working industry block and cooling loops! Space flight here I come!
Heya! Thanks for watching, glad it helped! I tend to build via experimentation, took me a while to figure out a way to fill loops that didn't break/stutter as well - always happy to pass some knowledge along ❤
Thank you, I have some planned! We had some life events that caused me to put everything down for a while but in the next month or two you should start seeing new content pop up :) Have a great week
Boy this game is complicated. Definitely not the standard base building I was expecting. Every time you discover something new you kinda open Pandoras Box :) Thanks for the help.
This is by far the best tutorial i have seen so far! Well explained and very inforamtive! Cant stop lauging at @19:26 Nails is doing a great job ^^ Well done sir!
I'm not too much into watching videos for setups for my first try machinery or automation but things like this are a must for a "nice try" lol Thank you
How would you load balance a 3 pipe "bus" coming from an SPOM? I'm using the full Rodriguez or whatever, with 6 pumps going into 3 pipes, so all 3 pipes are 100% full. The problem I'm running into is that some of the pipes pull more than others, for example into my atmo suit stations. That causes these long gaps between oxygen packets because I'm prioritizing the atmo suits. Sometimes it backs up, sometimes it the pipes are empty further down. I'm trying to figure out a load balancer for all three pipes to move between each other depending on which pipe is being emptied that fastest.
I normally do not try to do things like this as it adds extra complexity and I tend to keep things a little simpler with dedicated systems if doing an enclosed o2 production system. One for base, one for Atmo. When using a single system, an idea for you is prioritize your base and let it come up to pressure for a normal gas vent (2k O2). Or, if using a high pressure vent, around 2750 with an atmo sensor to close the vent. At 3k, you'll get a debuff for popped ears. Once the base pressurizes, then everything overflows to your atmo suits. Depending on how many dups you have (i.e. oxygen consumption) it should all back up and whatever is left over flows constantly to your atmo suits. If you need a hand, you're welcome to hop in discord and ask for help. Thanks for watching!
1:56 "game is dividing the liquid evenly" actually it alternates between the outputs. there is guarantee that the output will be even. if every other blob was 1 g and 999g then one of the outputs would be getting 1/1000 and 999/1000 of the fluid flowing through.
I think good topics would be heat transfer, conductivity, state changes, heat deletion. I was trying to deal with molten glass and lava to boil crude oil but was really struggling with dealing with these hot liquids.
Thanks for the suggestions! I intentionally avoided heat transfer/conductivity since it applies to things other than pipes, I'll probably cover this in a future video. We did go over state changes at the end however but at a high level - Interesting you were trying to use molten glass for a petroleum boiler, did you end up making it work?
Real Time Ben No. I might give it another go in sandbox mode but I am guessing you need a lot of glass forges running at same time. The glass is hot but simply does not have enough mass like lava. I think it can work if you can finetune the throughput of the oil better.
@@RealTimeBen the massive graveyard form all the crew deaths but I could see this as a 4 player co-op could be shared maps but I think bigger mape for asteroids working together would be great.
I cannot thank you enough for these bite size how-to’s. This one is SO FREAKING HELPFUL. THANK YOU 💜💜💜💜💜 … can I ask for help with ventilation understanding please 🫣💜💜💜

Super helpful and like other commenters, I'm also learning 600 hours in. Could you please make a similar video for gas management?
@@scrathe Gas and liquid pipes behave the same, so this video applies to gas just as well.
This really helps me out! Thank you so much!
Yes, thanks

14:00 Thank you. I was almost ready to pull my hair out trying to understand why the liquid shutoff won't pass the liquid through.
I'm really glad this helped! if you have any questions or additional help, feel free to reach out
this was a great tutorial. i finally understand why my loops sometimes stutter.

The best damn pipe tutorial on YT. Thank You! Wish you did more ONI gudies

I’m just bumping this comment because I completely agree 💜
Just getting into the game this opened my eyes a lot. Thanks you are a great teacher keep it up!

It is as simple or as complex as you want it to be - glad to be of help!
I didn’t learn anything new. But it is a great video for newer players. Talking about piping you could also have shown the mechanical filter.
Thank you :)
this in depth of video just saved me and make my first steam turbine and aquatuner combo, thanks!

A year and a half later, and it's still hugely relevant to the current gameplay.
Holy shit this helped me a lot. I had no idea how pipes worked
600 hours still a lot things to learn

mind blowing tutorial mate, now everything makes sense haha

Great vid. It highlighted a simple thing I had overlooked in my current base that was causing issues. Ta for that.

thank you so much, I finally see what I was messing up in my loop / shut off system attempts ^^

The biggest thing i learned about planning ahead for pipes is to make bridges every 3-4 tiles. End up thanking myself in the later cycles.
This is a great tutorial!
Thanks this is exactly what I needed
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing guide bro
Just awesome :) thx!
is there a creative mode
PLEASE PROVIDE MORE TUTORIALS FOR MIDBRAINS THANKS
LOL - Only the best C+ content for you Juice
Look pal. I’ve been around for a few cycles I just can’t do building errands.
this is so great
What would this game be like if it was a mutiplayer?
Cats and dogs, living together, mass hysteria!

nice
Thanks Maireen :)
Thanks a lot you unstuck me!
