I have to agree! It was timed perfectly! The colors were amazing. We had tried several seasons to hit the peak and missed. But last year we hit it right on the spot. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This place is amazing! My family and I have recently hit rock bottom and currently without a home. We've been camping here for 6 months with a broken down vehicle and my disabled mother who's in a wheelchair. Everyday might bring struggles especially with the colder weather but we are at peace and making memories honestly we're happier than ever! The creek provides us with most of the things we need. We will forever be grateful for this place!
It’s really is an amazing area of the country. We can’t wait to get back. Hope things turn around for you but the good memories will last forever. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thank you! I was trying something a little new for me with the drone. Kind of a slow reveal. Still learning different skills with it. Thanks again for watching and commenting!
Love seeing Jeep trail camping videos, especially when the food prep is shown. Seems food tastes so much better when cooked over an open fire. Thanks for the video. Tellico area is such a beautiful place. We live close to there and love that area. Thanks, RT
Thank you and so glad you liked the video. We totally agree that the food tastes so much better cooked over a real fire. We have a lot to learn when it comes to cooking this way but we always enjoy the results. Thanks for commenting. It really helps our little channel.
Fantastic drone work capturing the fall colors from above! Not to mention the road level views of the colors. I gotta start eating better on my CNF excursions...came for the Citico Creek scenery and stayed for the cooking lessons. Thanks for tagging some of the locations, I've already pulled the map out in anticipation of my Spring '23 visit to that area. New sub! Looking forward to get acquainted with your channel.
Thank you so much! So glad you liked the video. Yes we hit the color change almost perfectly and we loved this area we had never been before. We will definitely be back to explore it more. Thanks for watching, subbing , and commenting!
Great video. The foliage color's were awesome, especially the drone shots 😆All the oveland video's I've watched for the past two years all overlanders through out the country cook/eat better than a 5 star restaurant. Of course we all need a wonderful, loving dog to accompany us on our journey
Thank you for all the kind words. So glad you liked the video. Unfortunately the next couple videos won't have any drone shots. I crashed it and had to have it repaired while I was taking a trip but it will soon be back in action. Yes we have a lot of fun eating good on our trips. We look at it as our vacations and splurge a little and try new things when it comes to our meals on these trips. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
So glad you liked it and thanks for always returning to our channel and commenting. The campsite is great I don't think you'll be disappointed and there are 3 or 4 more good ones within a mile or 2 of this one. Thanks again for watching!
Thank you for the tip. I had no idea. Great info. heading forward in future videos. Thanks for always checking out our videos. This whole trip this time I planned after watching your videos and camping reviews of Citico Creek and your North River Rd camp spots reviews.
Hello again! Beautiful drone footage! Love how you give the coordinates to the campsite. We have gotten criticized about doing that a couple of times, but we like to provide that info! Enjoyed the adventure! 💙Terry and Terri
Thank you again. Yeah we've been criticized a lot too for giving out campsite info. but I think it's good info to get people to spread out and not hammer the popular sites that everyone knows so hard. Glad you liked the drone shots. Really been trying some new stuff with it.
@@GetOverItOutdoors Definitely doing a great job! We are always trying to find new shots as well.. We don't have the necessary drone license so we are trying other things... ;-)
@@nate4036 yes we sure have. We have been on many different sections of it at different times over the past 3 or 4 years. A couple of our early videos highlight our travels on it. We have never been able to do the Tray Mtn. section of it though, always been closed.
Fantastic video! Loved seeing the color vibrancy of fall & the sights. Y’all make it look so easy from the cooking to the video editing! Maybe one day…😉
Great stuff. My wife and I just completed a No Camping Overlanding trip in the Asheville area and timed the foliage change just perfect. I documented our quick 4 day trip on my channel and showcased the fact that we stayed away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and found a couple of incredible "fall off road areas" like Outdoor in the Smokies, Hurricane Creek, and Molly Gap. Love your content brother. God Bless
That’s awesome! We’ll sure to check your channel and video of that trip. The best experiences are almost always off the beaten path. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Thanks so much! So glad you liked the videos. We just watch a LOT of UA-cam and compare a several different videos of the same areas and pick up clues (trail signs, landmarks, street signs, towns they say their close too) from each one. It’s kinda like piecing together a puzzle. Then I take info to GaiaGps and Google Earth and do some searching.
Very cool. Just a tip, I highly recommend wearing hats when walking through the woods. Ticks will drop from the trees above and Lime disease is a horrible thing to contract. Great video, and keep roaming the hills!
North River Rd. and all roads that access it were closed for maintenance. I had planned to camped on North River Rd. so that's what sent us to Citico Creek and Doublecamp Creek.
No we haven't!!! That was one the trails we wanted to hit most but it was closed. It connects to North River Rd. and that entire road is closed for maintenance, so they closed all roads that connect to it also.
I'm sorry I unfortunately don't have a files to share. I'm still learning Gaia GPS and how to make a usable track for downloading. BUT, I will try and give you most of the trails we traveled that I remember. We entered the area from the south on River Rd. and stayed on that til we got to the Cherohala Hwy. (pavement). We stayed on that going east til we got to Indian Boundary Rd. We then stayed on that it we found Doublecamp Creek rd. Doublecamp Creek Rd. has quite a few dispersed campsite along it and that is where we camped. We did backtrack a bit the next day and found Witt Rd. That was a fun trail with quite a few water crossings. Hope the is helps.
Yes our boy Cole had school. I'm sure he'll be along in the next adventure. He loves it and has been begging to get his Jeep to the mountains. So be on the look out for that
Can you please help me understand how you find these trails? Also, I'm looking for Davis creek road that's in the beginning of your video and it looks like its asphalt on google maps. Am I missing something? Thanks! great videos
Thanks so much. If is the Davis Creek Rd north of Murphy that's the right one. It may start off paved but then turns to gravel. Heading north to the NC/TN border it meets River Rd. along the Tellico river. I find them kinda like what you're doing right here. I watch a LOT of UA-cam and take the clues and hints from other channels and try and piece them all together and get a general area I want to explore from there. Once there I try to hit as many trails and side spur roads as I can and see where they lead. Hope this helps. thanks for commenting.
Yes, none of these trails were technical hardly at all. Most were just graded gravel roads. the water crossings on Witt road was as bad as it got. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I think this is all of the song titles. Tidewaves, How Far Can We Go, For Far Too Long, Tidewaves (again), Just the Banjo, Into the Forest. Hope this helps and thank you for watching.

The fall foliage was beautiful, you all picked the perfect time for such an adventure.

Great to see your pup again! It looks like he really enjoys himself on these trips. Very good video btw!
Can't keep him out of the water. He loves every bit of it. He's definitely drained by the end of the trip and usually sleeps the whole way home to FL.
So relaxing! The soundtrack that you put to it is perfect. Captured the mood perfectly. Wonderful video!
Wow! Thank you so much! So glad you liked it and said it relaxed. That was kinda our goal.
It was very much relaxing. You nailed that goal perfectly
This is about 20 minutes from where I grew up! I always thought it was so magical there, thank Y'all for sharing this with everyone!

This was the best fall color in a decade in the tristate region from Ellijay to Ocoee to Telico to Murphy/Bryson City to Dahlonega
It’s sure was beautiful. Some of the best we’ve ever seen.
