The cut Pinsir Evolution looks extremely like like Mega Heracross & Pinsir in my opinion, and the cut preevo for Doduo looks more like an baby Skarmory.
I'd loved it if Chicks was the first stage of Skarmory being nestled in barbed wire it is stated so in the pokedex. Twinz and its evolution mirror Girafarig should've stayed Normal/Dark or be Psychic/Dark. Turbann was awesome a concept when Slowbro evolved into Slowking it fell off its tail and lived on its own like Shedinja. Remoraid and Octillery made better sense as weapons. Kurstraw and Pangshi must have made it and Wolfman and Warwolf were the coolest Ice types hands down.
I'm desperate for the reintroduction of these cut pokemon, but especially Kurstraw, Pangshi, Wolfman, Warwolf, Bomseel, and Madame (the cut farfetch'd evolution.)
I know it looks like a ghost, but it just isn't. Have you not looked at the Pokemon Spaceworld 1997 Demo Spreadsheet or The Cutting Room Floor webpage? It's a Dark/Normal type that evolves into Beta Girafarig at level 29, which is also an Dark/Normal type instead of being Psychic/Normal in the final game.

For anyone who likes to build Pokemon Lore and all that, I'd say that all those unused and original designs for the Pokemon could be used as examples of extinct Pokemon within the world itself. I'm already plotting a bunch of ideas with these old Mons for mine, and it's a lot of fun. I want that Baby Grimer. I don't care how much insane voodoo magic I have to do to get it, that adorable ball of purple slime will be MINE. Also I really like the early versions of Entei, Suicune and Raikou. I could easily imagine them as actual Pokemon, and honestly I really want them to be.
The old legendary dog sprites look oddly similar to the three pokemon that died in the fire in Gold and Silver. So maybe, the old sprites are what the legendary dogs were before the fire and the new sprites are what they became after the fire? I mean, since no one has came up with an answer for it, this seems pretty plausible now 😂
If you look down the held items, there are some really insane held items that they programmed into the games. Flee Feather meant you could switch and attack with the replacement on the same turn; Counter Cuff did 1/4 of the damage you took back like Rocky Helmet on steroids (Blissey would be impossible to beat); and Mom's Love was an item that healed you as you walked in the overworld. Some of those items in the list would be broken in USUM, let alone GSC! And also Red's trainer sprite is listed in the Kanto gym map and Blue has a lab in the New Bark Town equivalent, which is an interesting reversal of where they ended up.
Interesting that I’ve always felt like Lugia was kind of tacked onto the games with little attachment to Ho-Oh or Ecruteak City, despite having its origins there, and it turns out that it was created late(r) in development.
It's amazing that they plan to give some of the original pokemon from Red & Blue an evo and pre-evos but it's sad that they discarded those ideas at the end and they could've been a real thing now if they were added in the final product. I like that Farfetch'd originally has an evo and it has a cool design. Hoping Gamefreak might bring some of those ideas back for Gen 8.
Faruway No doubt fans will demand that after this leak. Too bad that all those designs probably won't ever be used, even as inspiration, because Gamefreak would be accused of lack of ideas.
You laught at the legendary dogs, but boy you gotta realize that their original forms look a lot like the shadows in the animated special when people realized that the forms didn't match up with the eevee line, instead their own original sprites. Boom I cracked that mystery wide open. Now we know what the original pokemons were that died in the tower now.
Would've kept: Baby Tangela Anchorage and its pre-evo Twinz Rinring and Bellboyant Early Magby Bombseeker Farfetch'd evo Tigers Warwolf and Wolfman At least the Early Beasts actually looked like dogs. Early Hitmontop apparently had three legs.
I would also leave original Girafarig and Murkrow designs. I understand why first was changed (Girafarig would have tendencies to give kids some nightmares).
Gallifrey300 Not dark giraffe, an evil giraffe (I think that's why Dark type is called Evil in japanese, because Girafarig was meant to be that Evil type staple, rest of dark type Pokemon of gen II, both released or in this beta, don't look evil, scary or manacing). Look at smile towards player made by dark one (Yellow just smiles and looks cute; brown/black is hidden when opposing, but when you catch it and fight with it you see that slasher smile aimed towards player - that's some sick nightmare fuel, I want that, maybe as evo or some alternate form).

Suicune hair looks like its used on Simpour. Fire/Water type also looks like a sea lion and looks more of an inspiration than the Totodile line (First one looks more like Spheal (Tail).
Not only that, but Sunflora is one of the only two Pokemon (Pikachu is the second one) is hardcoded to be Shiny. Either they wanted it to be somehow special or just tested some "sparkling" effect to make it more lively. Apparently Hoot-Hoot also has exclusive animation of being released from the ball.

Even in the 90's the pokemon team couldnt help themselves from putting tons of pokemon, moves etc into the demo.... hey why does that sound familiar? Oh right they did it twice with ORAS and Sun and Moon, could you imagine the chaos that would of ensued if this had of leaked back then like how it does now.
Early Raikou reminds me of Xurkitree... I was hoping for an early Gliscor too, as they had early versions of a lot of Pokémon related to Gen 2 that ended up in Gen 4.

Impossible, since most of those are already released or are redesigned into other Pokemon (Qwilfish evolution = Stunfisk (Tail), the 3rd stage shark line: Wailord/Wailmer, Farfetch'd evolution: Ducklett/Swanna, Electric Tiger/Hamster is possibly reworked into Dedenne and Torracat (Stripes on the back sprite), the Ice type wolf - Abomasnow, Suicune hair is used on Simipour).
Umbreon's poisonous sweat makes a lot more sense now...

Impossible, since most of those are already released or are redesigned into other Pokemon (Qwilfish evolution = Stunfisk (Tail), the 3rd stage shark line: Wailord/Wailmer, Farfetch'd evolution: Ducklett/Swanna, Electric Tiger/Hamster is possibly reworked into Dedenne and Torracat (Stripes on the back sprite), the Ice type wolf - Abomasnow, Suicune hair is used on Simipour).
