    The 125's are just the best of both worlds. a beginner can learn on one, and a vet can shred on it with a smile from ear to ear.

      I have a yz450fx I bought it for a Timbersled up here in alaska. Thought I would ride it in summer. Way too much power for trail riding. I’m getting a 125. And my kids can use it when they are older

      Yeah, just take it easy. When you first start, just practice slowly releasing the clutch while turning the throttle a very little bit. No big deal if it stalls out. Just restart and try again. Once you're rolling, pull the clutch back in, and roll to a stop. Then repeat this drill of slowing releasing clutch, start moving, then stop. The key is to develop some automaticity with this, so that if you make a mistake later on, your nature instinct is to pull the clutch and slow the bike rather than whisky throttle yourself into a tree.

    I think it’s a good big bike starter. Ride something smaller before to learn clutch and techniques and you’ll have to adjust to power.

    I learned on a YZ 250 2smoker, if youre responsible with the throttle, its a better bike to learn on cause it actually has low end torque for a 2 stroke

    I’ve been riding 4 strokes for a long time I rode a 84 cr80 and was not ready for that fuel surge. Every time it would hit the front wheel would come 2 inches off the ground kind of unsettling at first but definitely turned me into a 2 stroke lover now I’m looking for a 125

    Been on the fence about a 2-stroke 125 for myself. I'm late 30s, 6ft, and 225lbs. I've ridden 200, 250, and 650 dual sport bikes, but have limited experience off-road. Have been considering a 125 2-stroke as an intro to off-road riding, mostly open two-track dirt and some mixed packed/loose sand. Some people say I'm too big for a 125 and other says I'm not. I'm definitely at an age where I can't afford to get into something that's going to get me hurt easily.

    • @gohobby9934
      @gohobby9934  2 роки тому +1

      You'll be shifting a lot with the 125 to keep it in the meat of the powerband. You might like a 250 4 stroke more. Or, if you MUST have a 2 stroke, consider one of the newer KTM 250 XCW with TPI. Kawasaki KLX 300 could be a good option too, but it's a heavy bike. The thing you have to figure out is if you are only going to be trail riding (zipping through trails, small jumps, hill climbs) or if you are going to be doing any motocross type obstacles (jumps that put you more than 3 feet in the air or whoops). If you dream of big air, you really need to get an mx bike with suspension that can handle such things. Mushy suspension is the problem with most trail bikes when it comes to jumping. The mushy suspension is great for making a long trail ride comfortable, but no good when you are bottoming out on small jumps.

    Thank you for this two part tutorial!! i just have one question I heard that the oil mixture depends on what type of riding you do, I'll just be doing casual riding so what's the ratio between the gas and oil? And same goes if I wanna ride hard.

      If you're 5'8", you can ride this bike, but it might be a little uncomfortable if you have zero riding experience. The problem is that something like the KX100 or KX112 might be more comfortable right now, but you'll outgrow it soon.

    • @gohobby9934
      @gohobby9934  4 місяці тому +1

      No more difficult than a 4 stroke. Some 4 strokes (maybe some 2 strokes too) will have a vehicle down sensor and this might prevent you from starting the bike for about 30 seconds after it's been tipped over.
